Doll-Tearing = Loss of Innocence

In ASOIAF, doll tearing is often associated with the loss of innocence. When Arya visits a village, the village elder's daughter begs Arya to play with her. Annoyed and frustrated, Arya rips apart the young girl's toy knight, shouting "Now he's like a real knight! Torn apart and bloody!" (i can't remember which book). Arya has seen harrowing sights of violence and death that no normal adult should witness, much less a child. This incident highlights how deeply traumatized Arya is after what she has been through.

A similar scene occurs with her sister Sansa. She's building a snow Winterfell, thinking the snow has the "taste of innocence". Robin Arryn, her cousin, then destroys it with his stuffed toy. She accidentally tears it and Robin storms away, sobbing. Littlefinger then comes and kisses Sansa. This isn't Sansa's first time suffering an unwanted advance, but she truly realizes how little support she has when her aunt tries to punish her. Sansa has relied on the memory of her family for strength and the only relative she's seen after the death of her father threatens to kill her after an incredibly vulnerable moment.

Chess Is A Game Of Strategy, And While All Pieces Have An Assigned Value At The Start, During Play, Strength

Chess is a game of strategy, and while all pieces have an assigned value at the start, during play, strength is constantly shifting and changing, depending on the moves. But the overall outcome remains the same. The King is the central piece, the Queen is his strength and protector, and the other pieces act on their behalf, to guard and capture.

one egregious thing the game of thrones show misses out on is that the stark kids are CONSTANTLY thinking abt each other!! there isn’t like a single POV chapter from any of them where they don’t long for their siblings!! Jon wants to have a son and name him Robb!! Bran wants to be a bird so him and his siblings can live in a nest together!! Sansa prays for her siblings every night and makes the Winterfell castle and then gets upset bc there’s no one to throw snow at!! Needle IS Jon!! Arya’s list is her own prayer for her siblings, she doesn’t care that Joffrey is dead bc Robb is too!! Every single one of them believes that their big brother will come to save them!! there’s sm love and tenderness there and GOT missed out on lots of it bc it tries too hard for the grimdark angle without realising that the center of the stark’s story is their love for each other. anyways.

Every time Rickon future is mentioned, there's someone that seems to be so sure that he'll return like this cartoonish savage, a wild child that bites at random. In short, someone who will not be able to integrate into civil society (where have I heard this before?).

But why? Simply because he was raised by wildlings? We met the wildlings, we met Osha, she is not a madwoman who cannot control herself... She simply has different values from those of the kneelers, but she is perfectly capable of functioning in Winterfell and interacting with people.

And in my opinion Shaggydog's influence is not a sufficient explanation for this characterization. In fact, I think that Rickon, living with people who know what a warg is, has a good chance of receiving an education about it and learning to control this power.

I'm sure he can survive in his role even without knowing etiquette by heart.

I've Always Been Repulsed By HBO's Got, But Recently I Started Reading The Novels And Found Them Really

I've always been repulsed by HBO's got, but recently I started reading the novels and found them really enjoyable. So here's a fanart of Sansa and Lady, might post more art if I manage to stay motivated.

I DECIDED TO MAKE THIS POST ABOUT JON SINCE I HAVE SEEN SO MANY DEBATE AMONG PEOPLE REGARDING JON SNOW, ABOUT "IS JON SNOW MORE A STARK OR A TARGARYEN?". HENCE WHY I WRITE THIS❗️

Why is Jon Snow considered/seen as a "STARK" FIRST above anything even though he doesn't/hasn't had the stark surname? Why HOUSE STARK is Jon Snow's main family and identity? Why his stark side is more dominant?

Here it is the answer❗️

Jon Snow’s Case:

Raised as a Stark: Jon Snow grew up with the Stark family. Even though he is a half targaryen and half stark by blood, everyone around him knows him as a Stark because he was raised by them.

Seen as a Stark: Because he lived with the Starks A.K.A his mother's family and was close to them, people see him as part of House Stark. His actions and relationships with the Starks make this connection strong. He leaned towards his mother's house more (Lyanna Stark)

Conclusion

Jon Snow: Even though Jon doesn’t have the Stark surname officially, people see him as a Stark because of how he was raised and his relationships with the house.

In short, Jon is seen as a Stark because of his upbringing and relationships, even without the surname.

The Starks remembering Robb as they’d last seen him.

“Arya didn’t know how much Robb would pay for her, though. He was a king now, not the boy she’d left at Winterfell with snow melting in his hair. And if he knew the things she’d done, the stableboy and the guard at Harrenhal and all … “What if my brother doesn’t want to ransom me?“” A Storm Of Swords - Arya VII

“She had last seen snow the day she’d left Winterfell. That was a lighter fall than this, she remembered. Robb had melting flakes in his hair when he hugged me, and the snowball Arya tried to make kept coming apart in her hands.” A Storm of Swords - Sansa VII

“He remembered Robb as he had last seen him, standing in the yard with snow melting in his auburn hair.” A Game Of Thrones - Jon IX
