Hi hi waves at y’all I’m about to infodump abt my Phighting infection au‼️ :3 umm cw like,, stuff abt people turning into trees n death
ok so basically!! when Vine turned into a tree, odd plants sprouted around at the bottom of her tree. These plants spread spores through the air, and anyone who happened to visit often would get sick due to inhaling the spores‼️ Shuri refused to visit her tree due to grief, but Slingshot would go often, leading to him getting infected🫶.
Now, being infected doesn’t mean you turn into a mindless zombie whose mind is like. controlled by a plant. Au contraire, they’re just incredibly sick (for a while, at least). (CW of symptoms n stuff ahead‼️) Like, their throats are itchy, horrible coughs, and itchy skin. Their skin being itchy is due to it starting to become wooden, so,, yeah. The itchy throat is due to like plants growing inside of them -> which leads to the coughs. (Another lil detail is that infected spread the disease by coughing and so spreading spores 🫰) (symptoms description over 🫶)
CW talk abt becoming a tree and death ok so obviously the infected don’t always stay alive. In fact, after a while, they become rooted in whatever their last position was, their legs having fully turned to wood. And slowly but surely more of their body turns into wood. They usually die to starvation pretty quickly due to the fact that they aren’t actively eating (since they’re stuck in place) anymore. This repeats until finally the victim is fully turned into a tree. talk abt death n treeification over!!
Right so, Sling is the first to get infected. Katana gets sick next because Shuri is busy taking care of Sling’s restaurant and left Katana to deal with him. Skateboard gets sick too since he keeps visiting Slingshot and doesn’t wear a mask properly (smh…). He then proceeds to,, spread it to a lot of demons at one of Boombox’s concerts. Which is why the infection spread 🫶
anyways yeah that’s. kind of it,,
I do imagine that in the future Shuri finds Boom and they live together for a while until they find out Subspace is also still alive and (for some reason,,) trying to find a cure. (The only reason Subspace is still alive is because of his gas mask 🤑/silly) list of demons officially dead in the au; Vine staff, Slingshot, Katana, Skateboard any other demon is alive until further notice :3c (watch out Swocket/hj+silly)
