I remember that one scene from Tlou a while back where when entering a library Both Ellie and Diana had no idea what the rainbow flag on the wall was meant to represent (pride flag) and that just makes you think.
The maze runner teens know nothing LITERALLY! They know survival and that's it since the minute they'd given up their names they'd lost it all.. so imagine them stumbling upon maybe an abandoned mall that somehow preserved pretty well and coming across things they'd never seen different country flags, pride flags hell even smth as simple as fidget toys would probably have them going "starry eyed"
