----------------------

The wind ruffled up Damian's hair as he stood still on the rooftop. His eyes were exhaustively watching the town under him, the traffic lights not quite confusing his trained sight, ready to jump into action. His body was tensed and it hurt more than it usually did. Those idiotic thiefs had some good left hooks, but of course he was trained to bare with worst pains. Then why did he feel so tired?

That morning had been pretty rough. School wasn't a place where Damian felt completely comfortable. Academically speaking, he did feel safe and, to be honest, superior to others. But not having many friends was still rough, after all he was just a seventeen year old kid. He was sure, no, he knew everything would be easier if Y/N went to his school. But he also knew you couldn't attend to such a school, not even in a million years. You weren't exactly a wealthy philanthropist like he was.

Why did destiny give him the chance to meet you, he would never know. Damian just knew he had entered the animal shelter and you were behind the counter, with a kind smile he liked from the very beginning. It had took some time, a lot of time if we're being real here, but Damian started to like you, more and more, losing his precious self-control. Asking you on a date had been pretty awkward for both of you, but the date went great. And now, you had been dating for almost a year now.

You had found out about his secret identity as Robin pretty quickly. Damian couldn't decided if he was amazed by you being so perceptive and intelligent, or if he was mad. Thing is, Damian blindly trusted you, and so did you.

As he thought of you, his chest was filled with a warm feeling he always had whenever you were around. His tired eyes opened a bit more and he realized you made him calm. Maybe that was what he needed. To see you, to have you around.

The patrol was over, anyway. He just didn't want to go home because he knew Tim was staying that night at the Manor. Instead of continuing to stand still on the rooftop of that building, he made his way through Gotham City's rooftops and alleys, knowing by heart how to get to you place from every place in the city.

You were laying on your bed, earbuds in as you read the book Damian had lend you some weeks ago. Because of exams at school, you hadn't been able to read it, even though it was a really good book.

It took more than two knocks on the window to get you to look over at the window and see your boyfriend on his uniform, outside.

You rushed to walk over to the window and open it for him to enter into the bedroom, helping him out as you held a hand out for him to grab. You closed the window right after he had gotten in.

"Hey," you smiled kindly once you had turned around to look at him.

"Good night, beloved" Damian smile back, gently taking your hand and caressing it. He was always so gentle to you you'd get goosebumps "Staying?" You walked over to the door to lock it, after you had checked he wasn't stained in blood or anything that would cause mysterious stains in your sheets.

Damian nodded shortly, taking off the mask that covered his emerald green eyes, and keeping it in one of his belt's multitask, big pockets "For a bit. If it is okay with you"

You nodded back, letting him knew you had no problem with it. You looked for the last time at him, checking he wasn't hurt. Damian's visits on his uniform were always sudden and unexpected, and it wouldn't be the first time he had appeared on your floor, bleeding knuckles, or just bleeding out but with that charming and a bit annoying smile on his face. Then, after you were happy with knowing he had no visible wounds and considering he had no pain expression in his face, you sat on your bed and continued reading.

Damian took of his big, heavy boots before crawling up to the bed, slowly moving until he reached you. He took the book out of your hands, and before you could complain, he layed on top of you, or at least half of his body on top of yours and his head buried on the pillow next to your head. Then, he gave you your book back.

"Everything okay, Dami?" You muttered, closing the book with one hand and directing the other to the boy's hair.

You felt an arm move to your waist and being surrounded by it, on a somewhat tight grip that pretended to be a hug, which made you smile. He moved his head to the left, in order to look at you "I'm tired"

"Just that?" You watched as the boy nodded with his head. His grip on your waist didn't grow loose "You could use some sleep"

"I'll sleep later" he said, still looking at you. The way Damian stared at you was as loving and as gentle as the way he held you close to him.

A tiny smile grew on your face "You could use some cuddles, then"

"I don't cuddle" stated Damian, but his heart raced to the possibility of cuddling.

"Sure you don't"

You leaned in to kiss his lips shortly, breaking apart sooner than what he expected him, making Damian pout. You could have laughed, but instead chose to continue gently massaging his scalp, and to slowly run your hand up and down his back. If he would have been a cat, he would have purred. Instead, as a human, Damian just leaned in to get more cuddles, kissing lightly your clothed covered shoulder. He kept holding onto your waist, secretly begging for you to not stop those cuddles that made him feel calm and less tired. Without stopping the cuddles, you kissed his lips again, this time longer, allowing him to kiss you back as softly as you kissed him, until his head fell out of fatigue into your chest.

Neither of you noticed the moment he fell sleep because of the exhaustion he had been exposed to throughout his week, mainly because you fell sleep almost right after he did, you head against his, and his arm still wrapped around your waist, heart beats finding each other's as your chests pressed together. Everything was calm and sweet, and that was all that mattered.

Damian always woke up before you did. His routine was rather strict, but simple if he followed it right, and he had enough discipline to follow through with it everyday. A quick breakfast, a heavy workout, a proper breakfast, a heavier and more physical workout, showering and meditation, then the rest of his day. Considering the amount of responsibilities he had as Wayne Enterprises’ VP, he had to wake up really early to fulfill his routine during work days and still arrive on time to the building. Weekends were easier, because they were slower and lacked obnoxious work meetings, and he almost never missed his workouts. Almost.

When he woke that morning, early enough for the light coming through the window to be still weak, his first impulse was to slide out of the bed — pushing the white sheets off his body. But he had barely moved in order to do that, when he noticed your arm around his torso. It made him smile slightly, lovingly, watching your hair all messy around your face, semi buried in the soft, silk pillow.

Damian had had to go to bed before you had even been able to get out of your company’s meeting. In one of the intense but short lived breaks in between your meeting, you had called him and asked not to wait for you, and out of pure exhaustion Damian had actually listened to you and gone to bed once midnight striked. So, this was the first time he was seeing you since early the morning before that.

At least you hadn’t been tired enough not to take your makeup off out of sleepiness, given now she was barefaced. Your skin shone there where the sun, shyly coming in from the barely pulled together curtains, caressed you; and Damian couldn’t help but follow with his eyes the path of happiness on it. His smile widened as his eyes moved slowly, thumb coming to caress your arm again and again and again and again. Damian knew he should have forced himself to lift from the bed more than five minutes ago, but how could he when you could bewitch him by just existing?

Damian’s fingers drew patterns everywhere he could reach, gently easing up as you awakened as you snuggled closer to him. You hid on the crook of his neck, groaning quietly when Damian tickled you slightly, but a smile blossoming on your face because God, it was hard to be mad with Damian when he was this soft. You looked even more precious now to him, as your eyes fluttered, fighting to keep them close.

“Good morning, beloved.” He whispered to your ear, ticklish enough to make you chuckle cheerfully and writhe involuntarily against his body.

You rolled to the side to face him better, but you didn’t open your eyes just yet. “I thought you had to workout today.”

“Something more important came up.”

With that, your eyes opened, glimmering sweetly — Damian’s breath almost caught on the back of your throat. He wanted to stay like this forever. “Oh, yeah?” You hummed, eyebrows up and slightly teasing. Damian just stared, knowing well you appreciated the way he would include you in his mornings from time to time, putting his discipline aside. “And what is that?”

Damian’s lip corner twisted slightly, prompting that charming grin of his. His hand came to your waist, squeezing with the right amount of strength to make you feel terribly loved and important, and then his grin twisted to a genuine smile. “Why don’t you stay and find out?”
