A bit of an angry rant, but I wanna try and be as civil as I possibly can. Bc something's been really pissing me off lately. I'll try and keep this short. I'm genuinely sick of folks in this fandom villainizing anybody who ships sleepday (Dogday x Catnap) simply because of the game. I'm bringing this up because people often never actually look into the lore of poppy playtime, nor dive in deeper to better understand this ship and why people are fond of it. Like, I get the hatred for people if you ship the bigger bodies, which is fucked up considering that Catnap in the game was ORIGINALLY an orphan 8 year old before becoming an experiment. And Dogday was somewhat an employee I think? People think it's not true people think it is I don't logically know at this point. But guys. The cartoons. There's a huge difference between the cartoons and the game. Catnap really isn't all that evil as people make it out to be. It's honestly just theo. Cartoon Catnap is innocent. Plus, I think it's safe to say that in his cartoon version, he mainly likes to sleep, smells like lavender, and makes sure his friends get peaceful sleep. Catnap in the game is fucking murderous and serves a prototype. And he sees Dogday as nothing but a heretic. That's basically it. I get why people adore Sleepyday. It's the classic sun x moon dynamic and I truly adore it! Hell, I'm a Sleepyday shipper myself. I genuinely think this ship is adorable (CARTOON VERSIONS) because it would make total sense. Dogday and Catnap are confirmed to be close friends. They genuinely care for one another. I wish I had a friendship just as sweet as that.

In conclusion, I genuinely think people don't understand the lore when it comes to Poppy Playtime. What do you guys think about this post? Should I change my wordings? Did I make valid points? Let me know, because I'm not that good at making points myself. I'm just giving out information from what I notice. Anyways, thank you for the people who decided to stand by and read this post. I don't usually post. So. This is my first time.

And also YES!!! Him and Catnap are actually supposed to be matching!! The accessories were little Christmas gifts for each other :] (Great minds think alike!)

Unfortunately, Catnap lost his earring one sleepwalking night and so a different approach to having them match was used.

Imagine that the Smiling Critters did an episode like Clarence about wanting to be alone.

DogDay is upset that he just wants to be left alone, because he usually loves being around his friends. But one day, he just wants to not be bothered.

CatNap, realizing the social leader of the group is being unsocial, decides to visit him at his dog house and encourage him to come out. This could leave DogDay basically exclaiming that he wants to be left alone.

After realizing that he just yelled at CatNap, he'll start whining and start asking "Why do I want to be alone? I love hanging with my friends."

And CatNap could just calmly explain that everyone needs some alone time, and since DogDay loves being around others, it's expected that it'll upset him. Just like how it can be too much for CatNap to be around the other Critters for too long, since he's usually by himself.

CatNap could get up to leave, but DogDay stops him and asks him to stay. They could be sitting there for hours doing nothing, not even talking. Just the sound of CatNap's purring as he starts to doze off and DogDay joining in.

Something soft and cozy. I might make a fanfic on AO3 about this

It doesn't help that even though I had been here for a few months, I haven't spoken to any of you, let alone introduced myself. Before you even knew my name, you just called me "Kitty"."

Back then, I thought you weren't being social because you were having trouble connecting with us, since it seemed like we didn't have anything in common. "Best tea I've ever had. And as time went on, we got closer. We began to spend more time together, CatNap would rest on my lap from time to time, sometimes making biscuits on me, purr whenever we held paws."

"Don't remind me. I just kept thinking we were really close friends. Until Kickin tried convincing Hoppy you two were best friends, and I growled in front of everyone. That was embarrassing."

I'm sorry that this took so long to answer, I got busy, but never forgot!

⚠️MENTIONS OF BLOOD, STRANGULATION, AND MURDER⚠️

It took me a while to think of how DogDay could be a yandere, but he and CatNap both have claws. One good swipe at a blood vein in their neck or wrist will easily get the job done. DogDay would bury his victims, but keep one of their bones as a souvenir.

CatNap would show no mercy to anyone trying to take DogDay from him. His sleeping gas is a perfect way of keeping victims quiet. And what better way of killing them than to strangle them with his tail?
