Always Keep Simming - Finding her Soulmate and Traveling the World - Aileen’s Story (Gen 4 legacy) Part 2

Aileen finished University shortly after aging up to a YA!

As a joke with her younger brother Luke (yes, after Luke Skywalker), she decided to go on one blind date. Enough time had passed after the drama with her former boyfriend and sister and Luke eventually got her to agree to give fate a chance… She had had short flings during uni, but nothing serious. As mentioned, she had given up on love. She had the perfect example of a wonderful and healthy relationship, her parents’, and it was either that or nothing at all. When she met Colin, they were both very attracted to each other. They also got along pretty well, Aileen had never felt so comfortable around someone other than her family.

While talking about their interests, Colin mentioned his research on the history of occults and that he’d just moved into a haunted house in Willow Creek. It was actually the Goth’s old manor which was now left abandoned after Mortimer and Bella had died and their children had moved elsewhere. Colin needed help with the specters. Aileen was very excited because she was interested in everything that had to do with the supernatural and she wanted to help him. So, against her better judgment, she moved in with him.

At the same time, she started working as a scientist. While they were trying to keep the ghosts at bay, the two developed a close friendship and eventually fell in love. Things developed quite quickly, Aileen only wanted a sim who was all-in. For Colin, it was clear Aileen was his soulmate. So, in the following season, they got engaged and married.

Aileen soon discovered she was pregnant, with twins! Right after the twins’ birth, they moved into a New Orleans Creole home in Willow Creek, their first family house. Colin had gathered enough about specters, his next goal was to investigate and search for the lost omniscan treasures of Selvadorada! Once the kids were a bit older, they’d travel to Selvadorada and try to find the temple.

For the first two years, Aileen’s grandfather stayed with them. They went to visit Aileen’s grandmother often. Luckily, her ghost hadn’t passed on yet, so they were able to chat with her.

Aileen’s grandfather, Alexander O‘Neil. The O‘Neil family and Alex himself have a pretty… dramatic background to say the least. That story will be told another time!

So, this was how Aileen at last found her soulmate. You might think this was her happily ever after after but the watcher has more plans for her. Aileen truly was/still is a powerhouse. She‘d do anything she wanted to, no matter how much she’d have to work and research to get there. As Colin had a similar work ethic, they truly were a power-couple of history and science 🧬

Always Keep Simming - Simchella Music Festival

It‘s time to celebrate summer one last time- let’s go to the Simchella Music Festival!

Aileen and Colin stayed with their friends (the sims shown in the screenies) until the early morning. The kids were visiting their grandparents, as strangerville was quite near to Oasis Springs. Was it a hassle to fly all that way for the festival? Yes, not the easiest task with two active toddlers. But there was no way Aileen (party-animal trait) was gonna miss this!

A bit of lore: The annual Simchella Music Festival was a tradition to attend in this family’s legacy. It started with Aileen’s mother and uncle and they passed the tradition to their children and other members of the family. Evangeline was a talented singer and though she didn’t choose to become a musician, she‘d always sing on stage for her friends and family.

Evangeline Scott, at that time she wasn’t married to Rhys yet, she was actually pregnant with Stella (Aileen’s half sister).

Always Keep Simming - Welcome to Selvadorada!

When the Blackburn‘s, accompanied by Aileen‘s mother Evangeline (in the pink dress) and her grandfather Alexander, arrived in Selvadorada, it was late in the afternoon. The kids were exhausted and took their naps. As it had been some time since Aileen went on a vacation with her mum and grandfather, they decided to celebrate by playing their favorite family game - Don’t Wake the Llama!

Aileen cooked dinner together with Alexander and they took the opportunity to chat. Her grandfather assured her he was fine. However, while eating dinner, Aileen had a feeling her grandfather was troubled by something. He wasn’t his usual self, always trying to solve hard problems and philosophizing. He seemed sad and lost in his thoughts.

In fact, as soon as Aileen asked him what was on his mind after dinner, he couldn’t hold back his tears. Aileen had seen her grandfather cry only once- at the funeral of his wife, Aileen‘s grandmother (Gen 2), Delilah O‘Neil. Alexander had never gotten over her death. He had struggled with depression right after her passing but with therapy, meditation, self-care and lots of time spent with his grandchildren, he had gotten better. Turned out that since he moved back to Strangerville, he had felt lonely again. Luke was a YA now and Evangeline and Rhys were always busy with work. On top of that, Strangerville was so far away from Forgotten Hollow (the graveyard). He was left alone with his thoughts and missed talking to his wife - even if it was only her ghost. Delilah and him had gone through hell together- mainly because of Alexander’s former life as a famous criminal (Oracle in the criminal career) and drug addict. Delilah had never lost faith in him, even when he’d been in prison… she had been his rock, the one person he could count on, who’d believe he could become a better version of himself. And he’d succeeded, thanks to her. Aileen herself was also still grieving her grandmother. She had passed away right after she had aged up to an elderly sim. It seemed like their time together had been stolen from them… But Aileen had an idea💡… Ever since her grandmother’s passing, Aileen had been researching if it was possible to revive a sim. It was the reason she became a scientist. A task impossible to achieve? Something no one had ever dared to do? Not for her, she liked being faced with seemingly impossible challenges, overcoming them would be that much greater. She was fearless and for her family, she’d give her all. 🪄

Alexander was first surprised and then very hopeful about Aileen‘s idea. 🥹🫶🏻

Always Keep Simming- Exploring The Cursed Jungle

Aileen and Colin started their quest early morning. They hadn’t been able to buy enough equipment to be safe for dangerous animals and whatever else lurked around in the luscious jungle. Colin was sure his skills were high enough (so was the watcher)..

Well, this happened. Colin encountered a scorpion and apparently his fitness wasn’t high enough (level 6??), so he got poisoned. Aileen was shocked, to say the least. She was not going to lose him, not under her watch! They took a shortcut to get to the temple faster. Once they were back at the villa, Colin would have to investigate for an antidote. So now it‘d be get to the temple, find the treasure if there was any and then rush back home. The Clock was ticking. ⏰

I love all of my sims couples… but I have to mention Evangeline and Rhys Scott first - Aileen’s parents!

Facts:

Evangeline (Eve/Eva) and Rhys have been best friends since they were kids. Rhys was introduced to her by Raphael, her brother. Rhys was the son of Travis Scott and Dani Scott. Ever since their childhood, Rhys had a crush on her 💕

Eva, Rhys and Raph solved the Strangerville mystery and rescued the town. Raph and Rhys both reached max level of the military career and we’re celebrated in town whenever they were out and about.

Eva was a Journalist and Writer. She wrote a very famous Series „Uncovering the Truth - Strangerville Mystery“ and explained everything they learned about the Mother and the sickness. Rhys wanted to pursue his dream job, becoming an astronaut. He maxed that career too but was fired because he interfered on a shady deal of the SimNation and aliens.

Eva and Rhys favorite holiday was the Simchella Music Festival in Oasis Springs. Because they attended every year, the Festival gained a lot of attention and sims from all over SimNation came to dance and celebrate for two days.

They had two children: Aileen and Luke. They visited Batuu, Tartosa, Sylvan Glade. Rhys went to space obviously and traveled to Sixam. With Aileen they discovered the Forgotten Grotto.

Poor Colin he had to go through a lot 🥲

At last! The precious treasure was found - or at least one of them. Colin had seen strange markings and runes on the walls of the entire temple. They were telling a story, of the native inhabitants of this luscious mysterious jungle, how the Omniscan treasures came to being and their importance. He was convinced there had been a village here at some point, the temple being the gathering place of the sims. He‘d have to further investigate at home. But first, he’d need to get rid of the poison ☠️

Always Keep Simming - The Temple Guardian‘s Mercy

Colin‘s state had gotten worse by the hour. Thankfully, Aileen had formed some kind of friendship with the Temple’s guardian. Aileen had told him about Colin‘s poison and as she seemed desperate to save her love, the guardian felt for her. He actually loved love stories so he asked Aileen to tell him how she met Colin. With teary eye sockets he offered her the antidote… So Colin drank the minty concoction and immediately he felt as if his soul was literally sucked out of him 😳 He was exhausted afterwards but it seemed that the guardian of the Temple had saved his life.

Always Keep Simming - Some Much Needed Family Bonding Time!

The last days of the Blackburn‘s vacation were wonderful. They focused on enjoying each other’s company and the beautiful surroundings and, most importantly, relax and be in the moment.

All in all, it had been a good vacation- especially for the kids and Aileen‘s grandfather. Hopefully the watcher would find a way to move him to Willow Creek soon. Messy and mischievous Gemma and her partner in crime Gavin - being with them made him feel needed and loved as they adored and respected him. All would be well again. 🩷

Always Keep Simming - The Mischievous Scientist & Strange Things..

The Watcher knew Aileen had been mischievous her entire life. In fact, the mischief skill was one of her talents (the other being handiness). So, it wasn’t surprising ordering around her co-workers and lab assistants, pranking them and even giving fake news regarding newest technology and research was a daily occurrence at Aileen‘s workplace (FutureLabs Research Center). Aileen had worked at the Institute for many years though, so everyone in the lab knew her quirks. As a matter of fact, most of Aileen’s colleagues also liked mischievous interactions, so Aileen’s behavior did not stand out. She was not a mean sim though, she would do anything for her loved ones and she regularly donated simoleons to various charities. One could argue that this nerdy, party loving and adventurous genius simply needed a little more spice in her life.. 🌶️

That evening, having read the kids to sleep, Aileen and Colin decided to enjoy a few drinks in their backyard. It was still fairly warm outside, they didn’t even need to wear coats. Aileen told Colin about her grandfather’s situation and what she had in mind. He offered her his support in any way he could. She would definitely need his research resources to get some tomes that were covering the topics she was interested in. Later, Colin took advantage of the nice weather and got in a boxing session. Aileen wanted to do some Yoga, but just as she was exiting the backyard’s door, strange lights appeared, accompanied by a beckoning voice. Curious and fearless Aileen decided to investigate the green lights at the edge of their property… Before she knew what was happening, she was sucked right into the light - and then everything was purely white.🌟

Always Keep Simming - Romantic Night Fail & Epic Parties in Space

What had started out as a romantic evening out in the Blackburn’s backyard, followed by a workout session for Colin, turned into Colin’s nightmare. Strange lights appeared at the edge of their property and before Colin could intervene, Aileen had already stepped into the light and was abducted into space. The Aliens loved to interfere with the Watcher‘s plans for their sims and after being mischievous and pranking poor tourists, Karma striked Aileen. Even the Watcher was helpless and quite literally had to watch the abduction with Colin (with a similar facial expression). Hours passed. The kids were sleeping, Colin was up with the cats and waiting nervously. He knew scientists had a higher risk of being abducted but this hadn’t occurred in decades. The cats were nervous too and very clingy.

Aileen came back home at 3 a.m. She was completely untroubled! In fact, she told Colin about the epic intergalactic party she had attended in space. Thankfully, none of the Aliens had tried to impregnate her… 🫣 Colin was happy she was back and embraced her tightly. He was glad she’d had fun of course but in his research on the occults, he had read about shady business dealings in space, especially in a place called Batuu… (Yes, Aileen had taken part in those dealings herself when she’d been to Batuu and had even made some “friends” such as Kylo Ren..). Aileen would have to be a little more careful not to become a test subject herself. Next day at work, she immediately prevented abductions.

Always Keep Simming - A Day At The Creek’s SimNation Museum

After work, the Blackburn’s visited the Creek’s SimNation Museum to view historical artifacts and show the place to the kids. As Aileen was famous because of her parents and grandparents, fans would always come up to her and try to hug her or ask for an autograph. Aileen didn’t like being in the spotlight though, unless it was for her own scientific work. She didn’t react to fans, especially those that hyped her up so much that they fainted. Aileen had no time for that! Most of the time she was so focused that she didn’t notice. Her brain’s focus was trained on things that interested her and people she loved. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Autumn mornings in Willow Creek 🌅

Aileen and Colin got up very early. While Colin made Gemma and Gavin ready for preschool, Aileen fed the cats and went jogging. The pool’s water wasn’t too cold, so Colin enjoyed a short swim. Later, they had planned a little toddler play date for Gavin and Gemma at Willow Creek’s park.🍂 Tbc..

Always Keep Simming - Toddler Play Dates!

Gavin and Gemma found two new friends- Jonathan and Penny from Newcrest! They got along well immediately and played all afternoon in Magnolia Blossom Park. Aileen joined them a bit later as she had to work late. Nonetheless, the family enjoyed a wonderful afternoon, the kids didn’t want to leave (Gemma was fussing a lot but her dad’s embrace fixed everything as per usual 😌).

Side Note: I’m watching the kids behavior closely. Gemma is messy, chaotic, a trouble maker, an absolute diva but also clingy and mentally gifted. Gavin is not mischievous, he’s a literal angel and creatively gifted. But, he’s her partner in crime and joins in on the chaos - only to support her (but he then feels guilty and cries 🥹). I’m loving this duo and can’t wait to see how their personalities will develop (and what storyline I’ll spin off of that hehe)..

The annual Fall Festival was one of Aileen’s favorites. As a kid, she used to count the days until it was time to visit the Festival grounds in Windenburg. Gemma and Gavin played all day long and enjoyed seeing the carved pumpkins. Aileen and Colin each treated themselves to pumpkin spice cookies and carrot cupcakes. Next year, the kids would be able to carve their own pumpkins. The fall season had another special event that was deeply meaningful to Aileen: Remembrance Day. The next day, she’d visit her grandmother in Forgotten Hollow. She had a lot to talk about with her…

Remembrance Day was a holiday Aileen had been equally dreading and excited for for years. It was only from this day until Spooky Day that ghosts were visible to those without the ability to see them - unfortunately Aileen wasn’t one of those sims that got that trait innately. For this reason, the days between Remembrance Day and Spooky Day were a fantastic opportunity for all studies of the occult and paranormal. Aileen was sure that one day, she’d make a groundbreaking discovery on one of these days!

However, these were also the only days in a year that she could see her grandmother. Waiting for four seasons to only be able to spend a couple days together was bittersweet.

Whenever Aileen visited her grandmother’s grave, she told her about everything that had occurred in her life. Though she couldn’t always see her grandmother, she always felt as if someone was listening and sometimes, just sometimes, she would feel a cold breeze pass by in the narrow chamber… and so it was on this Remembrance Day as well.

Aileen told her grandmother about her grandfather Alexander, who’d been dealing with severe mental health issues the past months. Her grandmother had passed far too early and Aileen was now in a position to be able to investigate how to revive a sim. As she told her grandmother about this, she felt the same cold breeze pass by and exit into the hallway…

At first, she couldn’t see anyone in the dimly lit hallway. Then suddenly, she heard the familiar voice of her grandmother’s ghost whispering in her ear “Aileeen… Aileeen… my sweet baby Aileeeen”.

She turned around and there she was! Delilah O’Neil, not in flesh, but in spirit. Though she couldn’t truly touch her, Aileen wrapped her arms around her grandmother for a pretend-hug. She showed Delilah current pictures of the family and little Gavin and Gemma.

As Aileen was about to tell her grandmother about her plans, the graveyard’s keeper, Lady Patella, interrupted them. Aileen was less than excited about her sudden arrival and even Delilah felt uncomfortable. But thankfully, Delilah had heard everything Aileen had told her urn and she requested to see her husband in person. In fact, Alexander was already on his way to Willow Creek that moment. So, Aileen promised her grandmother to come again and bring her grandfather with her.

Before she left, she placed a red rose - Delilah’s favorite flower- in front of the turn. “See you soon, granny”, she said and turned to leave the graveyard.

Lady Patella waited for Aileen at the entrance of the mausoleum.

“The spirits told me you’ve been exploring the Temple in Selvadorada”, she said. “I have, indeed”, Aileen replied. “Why do you ask?” Lady Patella’s eyesockets appeared strangely familiar wet. “Many many centuries ago, my husband went on an expedition there and never returned. The spirits tell me he’s still wandering around the Temple and unable to leave, he’s bound to that place”. Patella looked wistfully into the darkness of the night. “I became a graveyard keeper to meet his spirit here one day, but he never came”, she said.

Aileen was baffled, to say the least. Did this mean that Lady Patella was the Temple Guardian’s wife!?

I have to post these because they’re so cute! Of course, Aileen and Colin Blackburn are one of my favorites 🫶🏻

• Aileen’s favorite colors are black, blue, grey. Colin’s are also black, brown, green. Their style is definitely inspired by dark academia

• Colin’s biological parents came from the Windenburg area. It is unknown how they died, Colin was given to foster care by a distant relative.

• Aileen and Colin had their first date in a sushi restaurant in Oasis Springs. Colin asked her to marry him in a sushi restaurant in Mt Komorebi 😄

• My initial plan was for Colin to pursue the paranormal investigator career and Aileen to make jewelry but as the packs were buggy, I changed the storyline 😅

• Aileen and Colin’s relationship has a “wholesome” dynamic. While they do enjoy wohoo, their relationship is strongly built on affection and time spent with each other. It’s a complete opposite to Aileen’s relationship with Lewis (who cheated on her with her sister), Lewis was basically always demanding wohoo, they never had deep conversations. With Colin, Aileen feels “seen” as herself, which is why she loves him so deeply. Colin never had a loving relationship growing up and Aileen’s quirky personality, intelligence and relationship with her family was what made him want to get to know her more. 🩷
