Silly Ashden fic because :-)

first time writing a fic of then so here we go!!

The sound of rustling blankets and birds filled the ears of Ashlyn Banner, who was waking up from what little sleep she had accomplished to get. The aura of the bright sun crept through the window shutters, pouring onto the floors and walls.

It wasn’t quite obvious on what woke her up, but from what she figured it must have been either the cold, frigid air that had kept her shivering through most of the night, despite the surrounding blankets, or the light scheming across her face and body, blinding her with an orange hue.

She was the first above the others to wake up, she noticed. She was still cold, but they had all the blankets and didn’t want to disturb them. Maybe they could get better rest than her. The faint sound of running water was apparent through the hallway, stopping quickly. Someone else was awake.

“Ash?. “ she recognized that voice. It was Aiden’s. Of course he’d be up along with her. He should be sleeping if anything, the injury he had received a few days prior should allow him to sleep in but he just had to refuse. Though they were injuries from the phantom world, the pain that’s brought from there to here feels just as apparent.

“Aiden, you should be resting right now.”

“Could say the same for you.” She turned away, obviously unamused by his fits. .

.

.

“it’s uhm. . It’s not your fault, Ash.”

“??”

“I got hurt because of my own mistake. It.. it wasn’t your doing, so don’t put that thinking on yourself, yah?” He smiled, resting a few fingers on my hand in reassurance.

*He smiled. .*

It was fake, obviously. As fake as his hair color. she couldn’t place what made it seem that way, but it just was, she could tell.

“Aiden.” *The wind that came through the cracks of the window screen sent chills down her arm as she started to speak.*

“What’s up?”

.

.

“Thank you.”

“. .What?”

“Thank you for. . Everything you’ve done.” The cold tension surrounding them was surpassed by the bright yellow sun rising above the mountains into the room, and the comforting warmth of their hands enclosed on one another, a gentle, rough grasp as they layed on the edge of the bed. The sound of the birds, the wind, and their friends sleeping in the background audible, but not as loud as their heartbeats echoing through the dull room.

She had never really thanked someone like this, or in any way. She was alone most of her life, well at least in school. She had her parents to fill the space of it, getting her through the years as they went on, as fast as the long 7 hours they spend in the phantom world, only seeming like a minute to those outside of it.

Aiden couldn’t say the same, till Ben came along at least. He was happier. Maybe.

This was different though. She was never touchy, nor really tried to be. But it’s like her senses collided together when it came to him. It wasn’t in a bad way, but more like in the moment, she wished she was holding onto him a bit longer.

If only she did.

K the end!!! ✊✊😹

(not jonelias this is a silly fic)

“So… about that Jonah Magnus guy, right? What do you think about him?”

Jon sat across from Elias. He was used to his cryptic questions at this point, and assumed this was some sort of test on the history of the place. He shifted in his seat. “Well, I suppose I have read a few statements addressing him, but I can’t quite say much besides an unhealthy desire for knowledge and signs of dealing with things he didn’t understand.”

Elias’s smile faltered a little bit, for what reason Jon didn’t know. “That’s not quite what I meant… how would I put this…” He stared down Jon, figuring out how to word it. “Do you think he is… intelligent? Perhaps even charming?”

Jon’s face scrunched up in confusion. What was he talking about? Why in God’s name would Elias want to know his personal feelings on a historical figure?

“Reading the statements, what did you think about him? Did you think he seemed like a really cool guy, maybe like a guy who got laid a lot, at least for that era?” Elias seemed desperate to know the answer.

Jon was overwhelmingly confused. He knew his boss was a little mysterious and vague about things but this seemed something different entirely. Why does he want to know this? “I… uh…” he murmured. “I um… don’t know…”

A flash of anger shot across Elias’s face and Jon had wondered what he did wrong. Then he saw his employer take a deep breath as if trying to calm himself down. He reached down under his desk and pulled out a picture frame of a painting of Jonah Magnus. “Let’s try a different angle.”

What is this man on?

“How attractive is he? I think he would be the type of guy to have abs, and be very strong, wouldn’t you agree, Jon?”

He wouldn’t agree. Not even a little bit. But he wasn’t going to risk losing his job over this mania that had seemed to have taken over Elias. He shifted in his chair again, desperate to get out of this situation. “Sure, he is uh… very attractive, Elias.”

“Yes, I thought so!” His boss beamed. “Alright, you are dismissed, go back to your job.”

Jon got up and left the room, incredibly confused and wondering if that interaction was real.

Elias reclined back in his chair, cradling the picture of himself like a baby.
