Shostakovich My Beloved - Tumblr Posts

In honour of what would have been Shostakovich’s 117th birthday, I have coloured this previously black and white picture of Shostakovich.
This is my Superwholock

This is my Spotify wrapped, I don’t really listen to music much though.

about shostakovich, this one is my favourite picture of his

Love that one! It was taken in 1943 at Ivanovo, where he briefly stayed at the Composers’ House during the war. There are a lot of neat photographs from this time, many of them taken by his wife Nina. You can find a lot of them in Mikhail Ardov’s “Memories of Shostakovich.”
Here are some more interesting Ivanovo photos:
These two, from the same collection, with his son Maxim and his daughter Galina:

hanging out with Gliere and Khachaturian:

Chickens!

With Maxim in the dacha, and working on the Eighth Symphony:

With Maxim and a horse:

I made around 5 card cutouts of this picture of Shostakovich I found on Pinterest in August and turned one of them into a mask and hid the other 4 at my school.

I may have a problem.
Practically a face reveal. Here is very amazing outfit that nobody be be able to ‘Handel’ (I’m going to watch Handel’s Messiah tonight)

I edited these photos to erase my detritus-encrusted living quarters in a few minutes. [It’s hard to believe I have a 9(A*) in GCSE Photography with these 😃]
I bought this Shostakovich stamp over a month ago and it just came in the mail!

every sixteen year old should have a russian man to obsess over. as a treat.

Im driving to Oxford right now on a school trip. I drew this picture of Shostakovich

And I fixed it (aka took random suggestions from the people around me) and created Shostakovich on a train.
🥬Attention All 🥬
I got jealous of the cat and I remade it with me. And I bought marmalade for the occasion

ARHHHFGGGGGG WORDS CAN NOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I WANT TO GO TO LEIPZIG NEXT YEAR FOR THE SHOSTAKOVICH FESTIVAL!!!
(Also Happy 118th to our dear beloved Shostakovich)
(For context, there is a festival next year from the 15th May to the 1st June. To go there I would have to miss 8 days of school but I feel like this is more important.)
Oh and if you want a read, here’s the flyer stating what will be played
