Overwatch League: Fleta 2020 MVP Good vs. Evil Echo Skin
So, yesterday, on March 22nd, Overwatch’s twitter announced that we would get to see the Fleta 2020 MVP Skin and now we can buy it. Fleta is a member of the Shanghai Dragons, an Overwatch League team, and he got MVP for the 2020 season. Because of that, he has now gotten a skin. He wanted a half-angel half-devil skin that reflected his out of game and in game personality. If you want to see the development of the skin, check out the concept art video on the Overwatch League YouTube channel. Like other MVP skins, it is 200 Overwatch League tokens or $10 in USD. Now, for the badly taken screenshots.

Anyways, I’ll be doing a post about possible ex-Blackwatch character soon.
TLDR: We got the Good vs Evil Echo skin for Fleta, the 2020 MVP. It is 200 OWL tokens or $10(USD).
Overwatch League: Playoffs!
Alright, as I am writing this, the first 2021 Playoffs match is happening in about an hour. Tonight, (for me at least, check what time zone you are in, I'm EST in the US), we will have the first four matches of the Winner's Bracket. I believe that the Watchpoint Preshow with Soe, Danny, Custa, and Reinforce will be first, starting in an hour or so, with the matches coming after that. Here is a list of the matches happening live tonight. All of these matches encores will be tomorrow. Remember this is all in Eastern Standard Time.
- Washington Justice vs. Dallas Fuel: 7:00 pm.
- Philadelphia Fusion vs. LA Gladiators: 8:30 pm.
- San Francisco Shock vs. Shanghai Dragons: 10:00 pm.
- Atlanta Reign vs. Chengdu Hunters: 11:30 pm.
You will be able to watch this on the Overwatch League's YT channel. Make sure to connect your Battlenet Blizzard account to your YT account if you want to get drops. Here is a link to another post I made about drops and how to connect your accounts.
Overwatch News: New Blood Issue #5
Alright, this is going to be a long post, so for the first time in a long time, here is the TLDR...
TLDR - Issue #5 of New Blood was released on March 15th, 2022. We have had multiple small things confirmed by it, specifically D.Va's recruitment and joining of Overwatch, and Zarya's OW2 appearance. I liked the New Blood series, my favorite Issue was #5. I liked D.Va's character development and I think Baptiste could have used some more. You will be able to get the new Sombra Zhulong skin from now until March 28th, 2022 for 200 OWL tokens.
New Blood Issue #5: Out of all of the parts of this comic book series, this one was my favorite for a few reasons.
I like that D.Va is portrayed to be more mature in this comic. I feel like she is mostly portrayed to be a little immature, but considering her job she should be acting more mature. So, I think that they are doing a good job showing her acting appropriately for the situation.
It is confirmed that damage boost is a cannon ability that Mercy has (pg. 3).
It is seems to be confirmed that Baptiste's Immortality Field can aid in the repairing of the mechs (pg. 15).
We've learned a little more about the MEKA Squad's abilities. D.Mon has a hard light sword and shield (pg. 11). Overlord's mech seems to be able to fly like a drone (pg. 9). All of the mechs have some type of ability to fly/hover (pg. 17).
We have confirmed that Cole was the person to recruit D.Va to Overwatch, not Lucio like I predicted (pg. 19).
It is confirmed that the older members of Overwatch (Ana, Reaper, Soldier: 76, probably Reinhardt and Torbjorn too) are referred to as the "Old Guard" (pg. 21).
We are shown what seems to be Zarya's Overwatch 2 redesign.
It seems that all the characters recruited by Cole are all getting along well (pg. 21 - 23).
New Blood Issues #1 - #4, A Longer Than Necessary Review:
I think this comic series is one of my favorite releases from the Overwatch media section with the only thing beating it being Stone by Stone. This series did a good job leading up to what can be assumed to be the current state of Overwatch 2 lore. I'm glad that all of the characters we saw during the Behind the Scenes of OW2 who joined Overwatch were explained here. Other than Issue #5, Issue #4 was my favorite. I think that they did a good job expanding on all characters featured in the comics. Now let's get onto the character specifics...
Ana: I think that having Ana being the person to push both Cole and Pharah to join Overwatch was good. I think that they included her for a perfect amount of the comics. I would like to see more interactions between her and Pharah in the future.
Pharah: I think that they did a good job integrating past Pharah lore (Ana didn't want her to join Overwatch) with her connection to Helix to give her a reason to not join Overwatch. Then, they gave Pharah a reason to join which I think was well executed. I also like how they expanded her connection to Cole and Mercy (pg. 5 of Issue #2).
Baptiste: I think that out of all the characters, Baptiste was the least developed by this comic. I like his banter with Cole throughout his comic. I also think that the expansion of his in-game abilities (Regenerative Burst, Amplification Matrix, and Exo Boots) within lore was good.
Zarya: I think they did a really good job making Zarya more sympathetic. In-game, she's kind of curt and mean. Her comic shows her in a different light which is really nice. I think that the few scene with her interacting with her family was great.
D.Va: I may be biased (I'm a D.Va main), but I think that D.Va's character was developed really well. I talked more about this early, but they did a good job making her act appropriately for the dire situation that she is in. I also really like that they showed D.Va to be very focused on helping people. In multiple pages, we see D.Va trying to take action that will help the most people (asking about communicating with Overwatch) which makes me really happy.
Cole: I think that they did a good job making Cole more of a leader and they did a good job portraying him like he is in-game. He is very charismatic and I think they did a good job showing that Cole is able to use that to steer people in the right direction. I'm excited to see how they make Cole an even better leader in the future.
OWL/OW Updates:
In Overwatch, the patch notes (3/15/2022) fixed some bugs including the mic distortion that was being complained about recently. The bigger news though is that the 2CP maps, Horizon Lunar Colony and Paris, have been removed for Quick play and related modes. It seems like the development team are beginning to slowly remove 2CP maps from the live game.
In OWL news, the new Sombra Zhulong skin is available for 200 OWL tokens to celebrate the Shanghai Dragons' Overwatch League 2021 victory. You will be able to get the skin from March 15th, 2022 - March 28th, 2022.
