- The beauty of the Hua shan (华山) mountains, Huabing, Xi'an, China

A stellar attraction that made me feel appropriately insignificant. Finally seeing where the inspiration for ancient chinese paintings came from in person was only a part of their wonder. You can reach them by train from Xi'an, this will take about 2 hours, and after which a taxi can take you to the bus station. From there a shuttle bus winds its way up the mountain to reach steps that will finally take you to the gondola. Excitement blurs out your exhaustion though, because I realised once we arrived in the mountain, that we would walk a very long way...
