Anne wouldn’t mind living as the things she’s been labeled if she has to—whore, bitch, rat, albatross—but let her never live or be called to live as what she’s been branded. Anne rolls her left shoulder without thinking about it; the initial there itches, but she refuses to scratch at it. She’s long been a superstitious woman, and as a consequence refuses to give the damned thing any power over her in a moment like this. Might just invite trouble in if she does.
