Kira stood in the doorway of Scott’s bedroom, and all she felt was sick.

“So you’re saying his pain will get worse before it gets better?” She knew she sounded afraid — knew that she should probably be strong for him instead — but she didn’t think she could stand seeing him in pain again.

Mrs. McCall nodded. “Now to be clear, I only have experience with burn patients who heal at a much slower rate, so I assume the whole process will happen faster. But probably, yeah.” She winced sympathetically. “Sorry, kiddo.”

Scott shifted, and he didn’t make any noise, but was obviously breathing carefully against the pain. “I’ll be fine, Mom, thanks.”

“Okay.” Mrs. McCall didn’t look fully convinced — or maybe that was Kira just projecting, because she certainly wasn’t convinced that Scott was going to be fine — but she nodded and squeezed Scott’s shoulder on what Kira assumed was one of the few unburned patches of skin. 

Then, instead of leaving, she turned to look at Kira. “Could I talk to you outside for a second?”

Oh god.

Wordlessly, because she honestly had no idea what she was supposed to say, Kira nodded. She followed Scott’s mom out of the room.

FICTOBER 2020 - day twenty

Prompt #17: “Give me a minute or an hour.”

Author’s Note: Because someone needs to tell Scott it’s okay to let yourself heal. Post 5x18. Stiles POV.

Running out into the school parking lot, Kira right on his heels, and not seeing a centuries old were-monster is easily one of the top ten pleasant surprises Stiles has had in the last two months.

Seeing his best friend half-dragging himself towards the jeep, looking like he’s got more blood on him than in him, not so much.

“Scott!”

Kira’s sprinting past him before Stiles can get an appropriate what the hell out, and she just barely catches Scott before he nosedives into the asphalt. A shell-shocked Liam appears from behind a row of cars, hands reaching for Scott like he wants to touch the alpha, but isn’t sure if it’d be welcome.

The only sound louder than Stiles’ heart pounding in his ears is his feet slapping against the pavement.

He covers the last few yards and skids to a stop in front of them.

Scott looks even worse up close.

Of all the ships I have shipped with Scott, this one is my favorite: SCIRA

They are an amazing couple that still had potential that could have lasted until the end of the series. The other favorite ships I like with Scott are Scisaac, Scallison, Scydia, and Sceo. (And...I recently began shipping Scott x Danny yet I do not know their actual ship name)

Oh I never noticed this until now...the parallel between these two sitting alone in the hallway, without anyone beside them. Only differences was the timing and that Scott was struggling here and in pain emotionally and mentally from what happened to him in Night School and the heartbreak between him and Allison. Whereas Kira is uncertain and in emotional shock from being kidnapped, finding out she is a Kitsune after she absorded electricity, and she is also a new student who is from the east coast who is adjusting to Beacon Hills unaware of her family's (specifically her mother's) ties to the supernatural world & Japanese mythology.

But overall these parallels from these two are subtle but significant.

Omg, I have so many.

I absolutely 100% love their rain kiss (all three of them).

One of the many things I really like about Scira is that they’re very magnetic, it’s like they pull to each other and then instantly connect when they meet and the first rain kiss really shows that:

the second one is really playful and shot really nicely and pretty sexy until it gets interrupted

and the third one is so angsty, like 90s r&b slow jam music video kind of angsty

can we also appreciate how much it looks like Tyler and Arden enjoy kissing each other?

Anyway.

I also really love when he watches her eat pizza because the expression on his face is of complete adoration:

I love the “I remember and I meant it” scene because first of all, Scott isn’t being flippant and is just like no, I do love you, Kira:

but also because you see the kind of effect that Kira has on him, he’s in pain and the minute she touches him, he stills, he’s relieved of that hurt:

The 5x04 forehead kiss because they went through some shit and they just want to decompress and what calms them down, what gets them grounded, what gives them comfort is each other:

Their “acceptance” scene:

because I know that Scallison had their own version of this when he transforms back into being fully human Scott as she kisses him and I love, love that scene as well but the Scira scene has a sort of tenderness and gentleness to it that’s unique to Scira, like their expressions are of wonder, Kira’s wonder is of this complete other side of Scott and she purposefully asks to see his wolf face and Scott’s wonder and awe is of the fact that she isn’t just accepting, she’s deeply moved by what she sees.

Their accidental kiss:

It was funny and it was cute and I liked how it was already habitual for Scott to peck Kira before they had that “are we boyfriend and girlfriend?” conversation and I love the subsequent kiss in the episode in which they both lean into being a couple:

When my guy literally jumped out of a moving vehicle and wolfed out immediately to have Kira’s back

and then when their reunion kiss with Stiles AND Kira’s mom in the front seats:

This sexy-ass makeout/sex scene

Them just sleeping together

scira is underrated

- both are poc

- they are adorable and sexy all at once

- we all love allison, and will always miss scallison, but it’s great that kira can teach scott that it’s okay to love again

- they were well developed (I mean, they progressed like a regular teenage relationship, which is rare for teen wolf)

- no unnecessary relationship drama

- both cinnamon rolls

Scott and Kira just fit so well together imo. They both have (almost) the same balance between that socially-awkward, dorky sweetness and the fiercely loyal, badass butt kickery, which isn't really there with his other girlfriends.

Allison and Malia are both badass in their own right, and with everything that has been happening and Scott being forced to mature and toughen up way faster than he should, it would've been really nice for him to have a soft, sweet relationship like that.
