Some lightly edited pics of a new build I started. I have a more fleshed out history for this building than I do for some of my sims XD I’m totally stumped as to what I’m gonna do with the interior when I finally get done with the exterior haha. This building has been through many iterations in its day. The building was originally built by Charles Decourcey in 1862 as a hospital for the rich in the then upper crust Spice district. Shifting tides of taste left the hospital badly underfunded when the wealthy fled to other districts, but it managed to limp along for another 15 years. The hospital closed its doors in 1889, and became a warehouse in the increasing seedy neighborhood. By the 1920′s, the spice district was full to bursting with trigger happy mobsters and housed the cities undesirables. The warehouse was transformed into a speakeasy because of the buildings proximity to the docks and the underground tunnels that used to be used for transporting bodies out of the cities limits. Once its speakeasy days ended, the building transformed into a peep show theatre, and remained that way through till the 1980′s. After a few too many encounters with spectors (and with bill collectors) the building was abandoned and left to rot until the spice district was slowly gentrified in the early 2000′s. Lovingly restored, the lowest level can be used as a business space while the upper floors contain beautiful lofts.
