Something That Used To Be - Revivebur x Reader

image

A/N: this is just very self-indulgent. teehee.

Theme: angsty, oh so very angsty.

Warnings: overall angst, in-depth talk of death, and maybe some gore mention. If I miss anything lemme know!

Characters: Revivebur, Y/N, some past c!Wilbur bits if you squint.

“Did you miss me?”

The moment Y/N heard that voice, that damned voice, they basically shut themselves in to avoid him at all costs. As much as they would have liked to believe that that was the same Wilbur they’d loved once... something was off. Honestly, it could have just been the stench of death that lingered on the man that was throwing Y/N off, but for some reason they believed it was more than that.

But, of course, no matter how much you avoid something, you’re never fully free of them.

Y/N had had enough of staying inside. Maybe Revivebur had better things to do. They made a trip back to where Revivebur had appeared. Where Wilbur had died.

“You’re not gonna get away from me, Y/N!” Chasing after his lover, he laughed. Y/N was laughing along with him as they ran to get away.

“Yeah right, Wilbur! Eat my dust!”

Revivebur caught Y/N sitting in the space he’d come from initially after getting on that train. He’d only been passing by to get a look of the mess he’d made. Part of him felt bad. He knew what he’d done to them. To their love. He could remember somewhat clearly. Not only did he destroy what had once been home, but he destroyed their love along with it.

He spun around, eyes wide. Gone was the man Y/N had known. This was not their lover. “Look, Y/N. Look! There’s so much wrong with this place. We can escape somewhere safe, Y/N.”

They shook their head and slowly made their way to the door. “No. I’m not going to sit here and watch you obsess over watching this place burn. You lived here the same as I. You can’t pretend that our home is all bad.”

“Our home?” Wilbur scoffed, folding his arms over his chest. “This isn’t a home anymore, Y/N.”

He shook his head. Now wasn’t the time. Y/N was looking directly at him as if they’d said something to him.

“What was that?” He blinked a few times, to bat away the rest of his thoughts from his vision. He now had their undivided attention.

“Were you afraid? After you died, were you afraid of where you’d ended up? Tommy... I know his limbo was different than yours and all, but I would assume it would have still been horrible for you. Even just... even just dying would have been horrible...” They blinked a few times. Revivebur could have sworn he saw tears.

“It’s not all bad, y’know,” He mumbled to them.

“Now you’re lying.”

“I may be,” He said with a slight chuckle, “but wouldn’t it be better to believe in that lie, than to know the truth?”

Y/N went quiet for a while, thinking about it. “I... I dunno. Maybe. I guess it’s better to lie to some, but... you’ve never lied to me before.”

“That’s the thing about being revived, Y/N. Death takes your best qualities and puts them in someone else of your image. Ghostbur was all the good parts about me that I’m not anymore. He got off that train, and I got on.” Revivebur sat beside Y/N, but not too close. He knew that they had been hiding from him. They were scared of him. “I remember it well, asking for Phil to kill me. Begging even. I remember his hesitation, before finally he ended it all. Blood pooling in my mouth, everything fading, before I was taken to that station limbo of mine. I don’t think anyone told you that bit. You’d already fled, and nobody told you how I died, just that I did.”

“Nobody told me,” Y/N confirmed.

Revivebur clicked his tongue and nodded. “Right. But I had asked Phil to kill me. My own father. I must have scarred him horribly. But I’m getting off track. What I was trying to say is that when I had destroyed this place, I felt bad. I felt so bad that I didn’t want to live with myself anymore. But now that Ghostbur and I are different people, different existences... I don’t feel it anymore. I don’t really feel bad anymore. But... admittedly, I do still hold some fondness for you, Y/N.”

He gave his best smile to his old partner, but Y/N just shook her head.

“I can’t say the same right now. I wish I had died, so I wouldn’t have to deal with this heart-wrenching sick feeling I have around you,” They replied bitterly, before tossing a blue orchid onto a little shrine that Revivebur hadn’t noticed before. A shrine for Ghostbur.

Y/N walked away.

I’m Not Who You Know - Ouchie Fuck Ow Revivebur

image

Request: I am once again making formal request: Revivedbur, finding Friend and not knowing why Friend is so clingy with him, and attempts to get Friend to leave him alone. Give me more pain please

A/N: ouchie, I hate it! Thanks!

Theme: Ouchie fucking angst ouch fuck ouchie ow this hurts OW

Warnings: angst. MURDER. ummmmm also strong language? Lots of it.

Characters: Friend my bestie Friend the sheep ;w;, Revivebur, c!Tommy *sobs*, Y/N

His day had already started off relatively bad, but the added nuisance of this damned blue sheep that had been following him since the day he’d gotten back didn’t help any.

The constant bleating, and nudging against him, and laying near him was enough to almost drive him crazy a second time. Maybe third, if he counted limbo, but he wouldn’t Didn’t even wanna think about it.

As Revivebur tried his best to get through his day, Friend became more and more infuriating. Didn’t this thing have better things to do, like... eat grass, or whatever? He tried to bribe him with wheat, which he ate but didn’t take a hint from. He lightly kicked him, which made him run around a little before coming right back. He even tried just shooing him. Nothing was working. It was simply too much for him to handle.

“Could you fuck off?” He turned to the sheep, who just stared back in response. Obviously. Sheep can’t talk.

“Hey,” Y/N mumbled, “be nice.”

“This thing is so fucking annoying. Why the fuck does it like me so much? And WHY is it’s name Friend? That’s so stupid. If I were named Friend, I would simply ki-”

“Enough,” Y/N interrupted. They didn’t have the heart to tell Revivebur that this was Ghostbur’s sheep, because if he heard that, he’d probably kill Friend on the spot.

“Oi, dickhead! Heard you talking bad about Friend!” Tommy glared at Revivebur as he made his way over, kneeling down and running his hands through the brightly-coloured wool. “This is the only thing we have left of Ghostbur.”

Well, I guess Tommy did it for Y/N. This was gonna be bad.

“Ghostbur...?” His jaw clenched, but Tommy was too busy to notice as he pet the sheep, who bleated happily in response. “What is it with you guys and that stupid ghost..? He’s gone.” Y/N went to step in between Revivebur and the other two.

“Tommy, look out!”

Revivebur was quick to cut Y/N’s attempt down, by pushing them to the ground. Y/N wouldn’t be able to be quick enough to try again.

“Sorry, love. But this fucking stupid blue sheep is pissing me off.”

It didn’t take long for that lovely blue to be stained red, and for Tommy to be holding the last remaining thing they had of Ghostbur. Revivebur tucked his knife back into his pocket, kicking Friend lightly with the toe of his boot to make sure he was dead.

Tommy shook violently with a mix of rage, intense sadness, and also a little bit of fear. “You... you...” He was breathing hard. He was in no state to speak. “I’ll kill you. My god. Someday, it’s going to be me that kills you. I promise you that.”

Revivebur shrugged, then turned to his lover. “You coming, Y/N? I’d assume you would want to wash up? You’ve got some blood on your face.”

Y/N heavily contemplated just leaving him right then and there.

“You go on. I’ll be with you in a moment.”

The older male shrugged again, sticking his hands in his pockets and making his way back home.

“I’m sorry, Tommy. I should have... I should have been quicker.” Y/N wiped some blood off of their cheek and looked down at the sheep, whose wool had slowly become a dark purple in some areas. They were hit with the harsh reality that Revivebur wasn’t the same person as Wilbur. He was cold. Quick to anger. He wasn’t the same, and never would be.

“It’s... it’s okay. You couldn’t have known, Y/N. I don’t blame you. I blame him.”

But... they could have known.

They did know.

Why did they let him do this? Was there something wrong with Y/N too? Was Revivebur’s influence that strong...?
