Resident Evil Code: Veronica X (2001) | Platform: PlayStation 4
Things on the classic Resident Evil games that is just low-key comedy to me
-Wesker being all "the only T-Veronica virus is in your body, give to me" and extending his hand to Alexia like wtf dude, you want her to ripped her arm off and gave it to you?
-Jill running around Raccoon City with that outfit on the original RE3. I mean tough luck if that was what you're wearing in a zombie outbreak
-The gay on gay violence between Alfred and Claire in Code Veronica
-Leon being a cop yet a terrible driver. Like, he would go for a call and hit a dozen people on the way to it
-Steve crushing over Claire. Which is understandable but dude, she is way over your league and she is gay
- On Code Veronica where Claire ready to go for it and try her chance against Wesker, but Chris holding her by her shoulder like "grl, just don't. Please". This is gold sibling content
-Claire being the peak of the "determined lesbian". She escapes Raccoon City and then decided to simply invade some Umbrella installation and she does all that while hearing some of those tight and short shirt , her Queen related red jacket and a pink choker. She just said "well, i will do this anyway so may as well look good while doing it"
-Wesker always giving some cheesy monologue everytime he meets Chris, while Chris just say: "Wesker" in a dramatic away
-Claire always getting the nanny job
-Leon simping over Ada everytime they meet. Dude is not even discrete about it lmao
-All the over dramatic shots and music. Love them

Alexia and Alfred Ashford
"Sure I'm not human anymore, but just look at the power I've gained!"
-Albert Wesker (Resident Evil CODE: Veronica)

I disagreed.
In my heart, I always have a soft spot for RE: Rev 2. I had had to wait freaking 10 years just to have something new about my beloved game character. That’s from RE: Deg. Don’t make me count from the year RE: Code Veronica was released, it's just full of frustration. That’s why, I was over the moon when Capcom announced that they gonna give something new concerning Claire back in 2015. Regardless, some were not happy (that’s another can of worms that I would not open) which was totally fine by me. Everybody is entitled to their opinion and critics can be constructive. So, I chose to agree to disagree.
Alas, it didn’t take my joy away and I sincerely thank Capcom for bringing Claire in RE: Rev 2 after the long years of waiting.
Now, back to Claire. Because Claire’s story progression was slow and underdeveloped, her character can be easily misunderstood. People change over the course of the year. In the time span from RE; Deg until RE: Rev 2, we didn’t get a clear picture of what happened to Claire (I purposely left out RE: ID because the series did not come out yet when RE: Rev 2 was released).
Then after 6 years, we got a little story of Claire in RE: ID. Additional progression to Claire’s story, even little I took what they gave. I’m not gonna lie I little bit pissy about how the whole story played and ended. Hey, but who knows maybe the lack of her appearance will fruit sole Claire-centric materials in the future. (Yes, I admitted, I tad bit greedy).
2 years later, they released RE: DI. I know, the main focus of the movie was Jill Valentine, which I totally have no problem with. But it left Claire with a lack of story progression. That bit part annoyed me (I’m sorry Jill, let me sulk on this). Of course, I tried to be grateful cause I didn’t have to wait another 6 years to see her again. And, even though it’s not much, I still got to enjoy the brother-sister dynamic (Chris & Claire) that has been long missed since RE: Code Veronica.
All and all, I’m still hopeful that Capcom will release another of Claire’s centric media materials, either movies or series or especially videogames (Not another remake just a new gameplay, pretty please) in the near future. 😉✌🏻
Unpopular opinion: I didn't like how Claire became in Revelations 2. I didn't like the person she became. Poor character writing, perhaps? These scenes that I didn't like 👇🏻

Good with kids? That's YOU, Claire. Why are you now telling this to a rebellious teenager??? ☝🏻

Really? You'll put someone first who can take care of himself over the little girl who was vulnerable and defenseless???

Claire didn't care much about Natalia the same way as she cared for Sherry way back when she was 19 in Raccoon City. And that's just so sad 👇🏻
