‘ all right, ’ he starts slowly, contemplating the offer for a moment before he’s sticking a hand out so they can shake on it, eyes narrowing. ‘ hope you don’t have a problem with spendin’ all your money on taco bell, princess. ’
“ I understand that. but what i DON’’T understand is why it doesn’t turn on ? “ she tilted her head, stepping back & away from his grasp with a grin.
“IT’S password protected love,” he tried, failing to cover the laugh that escaped as he grabbed back at his phone.
“ STOP, stop that. “ she whined, before her eyes widened. “ did you just take another PICTURE of me ? “ she g a p e d at him. “ delete it ! please delete it ! “ she huffed before frowning at him, her shoulders slumping. “ thanks. “ she stated sarcastically at his comment, giving him a glare before entering the small coffee shop with a nod. “ what are you... what ? “
“you look like a stripper,” he commented as she grasped the pole, taking a quick picture of the incident for any blackmail or teasing that he’d plan to do in the future. letting a pair of G R E E N gaze down at her ass, he’d let out a little m o c k i n g chuckle. “there’s nothin to BRUISE, really. your ironing board’ll be alright.” walking into their usual coffee shop with the door wide open for her small form to prance through, eyes immediately landed on them, having heard her D E F E N S I V E reply to his banter. glancing at her with a smug smile, he shrugs a lazy shoulder. “i beg to differ. they’re lookin at you like CHRISTMAS just came.”
“ THERE you go ! “ she said excitedly once he agreed before FURROWING her eyebrows in confusion before letting out a slight AWKWARD laugh. she decided to stop her ridiculous dancing, her hands slowly going up to his shoulders. she s n o r t e d., shaking her head, giving him a dimply smile. “ you SURE about that ? “
his eyebrows furrow as soon as he’s being tugged up, though he moves into her hold relatively easily & allows a quiet laugh to sound past his lips. ‘ —- just once & that’s IT. ’ he decides after a moment of silence, his hand falling to her waist so his fingers can hold her in his grip softly. ‘ but ‘m only doin’ this so i don’t have to watch you look like an IDIOT any longer. consider it charity. ’
SHE raised an eyebrow, before nodding. “ do you want to borrow my charger ? “
“IT’S DEAD,” he explained with a shrug, shoving it back into his pocket. Both his portable charger and charging case had run out of battery on the trip back to the bus.
“ LISTEN, i really have no m o t i v a t i o n to ARGUE with you, so could you, i don’t know, move along ? i need to get back to my bunk. “
“No, that was almost good. If I was new to the game I might consider feeling offended. Just strike the ‘last time I checked’ part . Really ruins it all again. Kicks you right back into the home base.”
CHANTEL glanced over at her, SQUINTING at her. she let out a groan, removing her legs from zion’s lap. “ you’re a party pooper. “ she grumbled, standing up. “ where to ? “
“could we possibly go somewhere, other than this couch?” she asked, looking at the other with her infamous puppy dog eyes. “we’re in san diego and i want to go out, PRETTY please.”
“ YOU what ? “ she let out a SNICKER, shaking her head. “ that is d i s g u s t i n g. “ she groaned before shrugged. “ my day was pretty OKAY, i guess. rehearsals, as per u s u a l. “

" and you are probably going to laugh at me, but... we actually have RULES when it comes to pizza. " she continued, a snort soon following. " it's ridiculous. things like, you can't eat pizza at lunch. " she glanced at him, laughing. " this is real, i swear. and you can't eat pizza alone, because it's sad. leftover pizza is actually left, and you don't take it home. " her cheeks flushed in embarrassment before glancing down at her slice with a shrug.

SHE felt like shit sometimes. & most of the time, she didn’t WANT to tell anyone, only because she was afraid of being judged, maybe even p i t i e d. she hated that. she hated that people WORRIED about her, she didn’t want people to. but sometimes, she just needed someone, ANYONE. so, she decided to go to oscar, someone she trusted. from her bunk, she sent him texts, three that she hoped he saw.

“ I’m like highkey already tired of being cramped up on these buses, but then I feel like there’s gon’ be some Big Brother type shit goin on, or a curfew —– ” she paused midsentence to bite her inner cheek, shrugging.

SHE sighed, furrowing her eyebrows as she played with karma’s hair. “ i don’t think the others are SO bad, kar. “ she said quietly.

suppressing the want to roll his eyes at her comment, he grins instead. “ouch, that hurt. what’s your beef with me?” he asks, knowing fully well what it was.

CHANTEL sighed, chewing on her bottom lip. she SCRUNCHED her nose up for a moment. “ well, the good thing is that you don’t hate e v e r y o n e. “

shit. so she did know about it, though, surprisingly, it didn’t change much for ty. all it changed was the angle that he would approach this from, even if he knew deep down that he had been in the wrong. words were so easily used for damage and getting what he wanted that he had never assumed it would have taken such a big toll on her. at the same time, he hadn’t expected one of his friends to spill what he had said either. “well that was what we were doing, weren’t we?”
