- it took farrah a long time to warm up to reese

- obvs there's an age difference so they're rarely in classes together and they have significantly different personalities - farrah has angst, reese also has angst but it's different angst

riley pairing up the team for warm ups: reese n farrah aka dream team go warm up together

- "hey." "hey." "uh, so- stretches?" "sure."

- it's quiet at first and maybe a little bit awkward but kind of comfortable awkward. it stops being awkward when they coincidentally go down into the splits at exactly the same time

- "dude!!! did you see that??" "that was sick omg wait let's do it again"

- and from there: giggles over in sync splits, casual chatting about farrah's bullshit maths teacher, casual chatting about reese's talent, they're not besties from that moment but they're friends, they now know they have someone on the team to talk to just normally

- farrah likes reese because she, unlike most of the team, doesn't focus in on farrah's alcohol problem. farrah gets the idea that reese is friends with her just because she wants to be and not out of pity or sympathy or worry (and she's right - reese likes farrah cause she's funny and snarky and, even with the addiction, still a valid and worthy companion)
