Reddy Rereads - Tumblr Posts
I have finished the reread, and all other copies of the rest of the series are already borrowed (good! It is good the library is used!)
- I think it would be cute of Cimorene and Allenora kissed. I'm not saying this would be good or better, just that it would be cute. It would be a very different story, and it would lose the awesome "the princess MC doesn't get married at the end! She stays single and is happy that way!" Ending. And I love endings like that! But also the premise (two princesses, both misfits, both "captive" to dragons, bonding over time) would work for a shipping set up
- the dragons get to choose if they want to be male or female. The King of dragons is always King, regardless of gender, and the Queen is always the Queen.
I love this book. I love this series. There are so many good parts in this series. I like the worldbuilding. I'm so glad the library has copies
I'm revisiting Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C Wrede again. Such a good comfort read. I love this series. I have a feeling I'm about to reread the whole rest of the series too (library permitting)
Rereading Stolen Magic by Gail Carson Levine and forgot she has a character who is gender mysterious (a dragon!!). Good shit.
The Enchanted Forest, book 4: Talking to Dragons
- Daystar is a nice boy
- I love this lizard
Maskerade, Terry Pratchett
First reread of the year!
Maskerade by Terry Pratchett. This is a solid Discworld installment for my money :)
A Witches book, set after Magrat becomes Queen and before Agnes joins the coven (in Carpe Jugulum, she's a practicing witch)
Takes place in Ankh-Morpork. The Librarian, Nobby, and Detritus make guest appearances. Nobby and Detritus are especially hilarious.
Nanny publishes a cookbook as A Lancre Witch, hijinks ensue
Greebo puts in an appearance. I love the descriptor of him looking like a pirate who really understands the meaning of "Jolly Roger"
Interestingly, in this book one character mentions that Vimes is resurrecting the Cable Street Particulars, which is... Well, it's odd. It's not mentioned again, so maybe Pratchett decided otherwise (or forgot, I forget a lot of stuff). It's interesting to think of Vimes agreeing to bring back the Particulars in light of his relationship with them (bad) in Night Watch
This is another Topic book, but in this case it's about theater/opera, and it's better-done than, say, Moving Pictures. Pratchett really had a handle on what he was doing at this point in his career :)
I will probably reread it again soon! I really am quite fond of this one.
