Reblog To Break Your Heart On Valentine's Day!! - Tumblr Posts
Fool me once, fool me twice

A/N: so this is very much self indulgent, and I’m hesitant at publishing it because it hits kind of close to home? Yeah it was very hard for me to push thru and finish the fic but here ya go. I hope you enjoy the ride!!
Warnings: cursing, mentions of lying, break-up, mentions of smoking, mentions of smoking, maybe?? Bullying?? Not openly but there’s a hint
Genre: fluff, angst, bad ending til I write the second part, 6.8k
Synopsis: You always knew it was easy to have your heart broken, but a a sentence was all it took for you. “How do you tell someone you only dated them for a bet?”

It’s at past midnight he meets your eyes for the first time in forever.
Atsumu missed you, that’s for sure. You can tell by the dark circles painting under his eyes, by the sudden hurt that surfaces in his familiar warm-brown eyes, by how his eyes widen with disbelief whether it’s you who’s staring back at him.
You missed him, too. Your heart takes a turn, and your breath refuses to enter your lungs for the few seconds your eyes are locked together. A lump you got too familiar with after meeting the blond starts forming in your throat, and you have to give it your everything to smile at the boy who had broken your heart like it didn’t matter. It hadn’t mattered, though, not until it was too late.
Atsumu is no better, he wants to run after you, and he feels nauseous with the feeling stirring in the pit of his stomach. But he’s been a coward ever since he met you, or maybe he always was the coward, but you just brought it out for him to see.
You both were afraid of getting your hearts broken, so much that you never let people get too close, not letting them in, pushing everyone away when they started pushing through the walls you had set for yourself.
You were a fool for getting your heart broken, though, a bigger fool for letting him, Atsumu Miya of all people, break your heart.
It’s hard to tell how it happened, but easier to tell what happened. You, the girl who is scared of getting close to people, who people are friends with but never anything more, fell for someone you shouldn’t have.
Not close friends, not flirts, not lovers, nothing but simple friends, you guarded yourself so well all this time with well-made walls that won’t let anyone push through.
There was one person who was talented enough to break your walls. You’d think it would require more than a cocky smile and a funny, though also shitty, personality, but ironically, it’s Miya Atsumu who makes his way into your heart, the boy who knew of no boundaries.
So you admit defeat, that it’s your fault for getting your heart broken. After all, it was you who trusted no one, trusted the boy no one else did.
