how it started / how it’s going

how to be your fave’s personal hype squad, a novel by keeley jones.
Ted doesn’t care about winning. Rebecca does. The only moment we see him care about a trophy is when he promises her they’ll win it all. When you care for someone, you want the things they want. This is gonna be a good season.
The shrink on the radio show in “Sleepless in Seattle” is named Dr. Fieldstone. That’s rom-communism, baby! Who else is keeping a tally of Nora Ephron references in the soccer show? Just me?
This is a shift, lads. This is a big shift. The sign is was? the front that Ted’s been putting up, and he’s done. He’s tired of that shit. It’s real now. The belief is inside. I mean right before the speech, we saw Ted successfully fucking COPE instead of hiding his pain. And he told Henry something REAL. This is a whole new ballgame, so to speak.
Now, about that Tedbecca scene—
IMAGINE RICHMOND IN ITS AFC WIMBLEDON ERA
Kinda want Rebecca to sell Richmond AFC to the fans (collectively) at the end of the show
If I had a nickel for every time a sitcom featured a funeral scene in which a character mourns their father by leading the congregation in a doleful impromptu rendition of a classic rock song, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot. But it’s weird that it happened (at least) twice.
The character development of Jamie Tartt will always impress me like he is so well written, the difference between s1 and s3 Jamie is so crazy
Ted lasso was a sports anime

“You’re a godsend, Ted Lasso.” “Takes one to know one.”

I promise you there is something worse out there than being sad, and that’s being alone and being sad.
TED LASSO (2020- ) Season 2, Episode 10 - No Weddings and a Funeral

TED LASSO (2020—) → 2.11: Midnight Train to Royston

And as we walked we were talking, I didn't say half the things I wanted to.
Hey Stephen - Taylor Swift
ted lasso + every taylor swift album: (2/9)
#this one is gonna hurt like a BITCH in a few hours when the season finale drops isn't it?
"The last time I spent this long in bed was because I sprained a hamstring."
This is the first line of No Weddings and a Funeral and the first line we get to set Sam and Rebecca post hookup. Wow, it took watching this ep three times to really notice it...
This sets up so much: Sam is young, we know this, but this also tells us he likely hasn't been in a serious romance before. He's marvelling that something could slow him down (which god the way he was trying to find love, he definitely wanted Someone who could change the pace of his life). But this is the FIRST line of the episode. Right away the show wants to highlight Sam's naivete. Rebecca laughs at his statement but has no verbal response.
I know this relatively a small detail but it speaks to the richness of the writers' intentions. There is a world of difference between the two of them because of their age.
Side note: its nice that in this scene Sam both expresses the novelty of the relationship and then how he hates the secrecy. His ability to appear young and earnest with Rebecca shows his trust in her and his self-assurance. Is it a healthy relationship? We're not given enough time or info about it to know for sure. But it's undeniably an honest one filled with real care.
me watching and researching Ted Lasso knowing every detail of the show is thought out and meaningful

can y'all imagine if season 3 starts of with a shot of Rupert.
Feeling a lot of feelings about
how there is an intricate parallel between Ted/Rebecca and Keely/Roy between S1E7 and 8. Like, how each pair has an intimate moment that changes their relationship, which leads to one to text the other. And once that text is sent (one from Ted and one from Keely), the sender receives a knock on the door. Contextually we think it’s going to be the other half of the pair, but it’s someone else. Someone that ends up having sex with them instead.
And so episode 8 starts with Ted freaking out about sleeping with Sassy and the show reveals his anxiety is tied to not only his previous sexual activities (seemingly only in a committed relationship) but also to the fact of What will Rebecca think?
And Roy? Well he says what he thinks and he’s pissed Keely slept with Jamie. But the Diamond Dogs talk him down and tell him that Keely did nothing wrong. They had no prior agreement and he should get over himself.
Hmmm
