ROTTMNT Appreciation Post #1: Raphael

Rise Raph is definitely a different beast from his other counterparts, but I absolutely love him for it.

He's such a sweet, caring older brother to the rest of the turtles. He may baby them sometimes, but you can tell that he's trying to let them be independent for the most part. He's also generally kind and altruistic. His idea of being a hero is just helping others out and protecting New York City, no fame or glory attached. He works toward that goal without expecting to be rewarded; he just loves his home. That's a heroic character if I've ever seen one.

He's also such a cinnamon roll! You'd expect his buff, six-foot-tall self to be tough and terrifying--and he certainly can be when someone hurts one of his loved ones. But if his Teddy Bear Town frequent shopper card, teddy bear onesie pajamas, and constant gushing over Mayhem are anything to go by, he loves cute stuff.

Whether he's a baby snapping turtle the size of your palm, or an absolute unit with a passion for smashing villains' faces in, Raph is sweet, loving, and wholesome. :)

I love Raph. No matter what size he is. He can be big or small doesn't matter to me.

HOWEVER,

I genuinely believe that the smaller a Raph is, the more feral they should be.

All the Raphs get to see a match! And a new Raph joins the party! I watched Batman vs the TMNT sometime ago and have gotten questions about them and decided they deserve to be in this crossover as well <3 so because I watched it afterwards they showed up a bit late traveling from Gotham lol. This Raph also made me realize another thing a lot of them have in common: motorcycles so stay tuned for the next part!!

This has the same continuity as the bandanna bow Mikeys comic where all the other turtle iterations have been dropped into the Rise universe and they all hang out and vibe <3

WOO IT’S DONE!! All 3 parts of the Raphverse comic is complete! I’m sure despite the rocky end the boys had fun <3

I’m so SO proud that I finished it and tried out some new techniques for this when it came to paneling but hoo boy was it a lot of work especially drawing the motorcycles,,(THE RISE ONES MAKE NO SENSE WHY DO THEY LOOK LIKE THAT)
