If only he could remember what he'd done.
Maybe then Y/N wouldn't be cowering. Flinching at the sight of him.
"What did I do?" When his long-time friend wouldn’t answer, he took a few steps back and sat on the ground. “Y/N, please...”
Y/N turned their head and hid their face, because as much as they would have loved to say that nothing had happened... they couldn’t. Not again. The amount of times that Y/N had played off Ranboo’s random outbursts and lapses in memories as him just sleepwalking was too many to count. Even worse, these episodes had become more and more frequent.
Awkwardly and slowly, Ranboo made his way closer to his friend, who just glared in such a sad way that tears pricked at the enderman hybrid’s eyes. It stung. Maybe he deserved it. Y/N had never looked at him this way.
“Don’t come any closer.”
Ranboo stopped in his tracks, holding up his hands in a surrender. “I’m sorry.”
“You don’t even know what you did.”
Ranboo wiped at his eyes, which only stung more. Don’t get worked up. Please don’t get worked up. Don’t do it don’t do it don’tdoitdon’tdon’tdon’tdo-
He felt like he was floating, suspended in nothing but darkness. Where was Y/N? Where was the grass, the grass he always liked? Where did the flowers go? Where was everything?
He tried his hardest to shout, but his pleas were silenced, his words cut short.
And on the other end, Y/N slowly inched away from the Ranboo who wasn’t stuck. Who wasn’t pleading endlessly and silently for anyone to help him.
Y/N could never forget the purple glow that had enveloped the once red and green of his eyes, which matched the telltale glow of his enchanted axe.
There’s nothing I can do for you, Ranboo.
They ran, for that was the only thing they could do anymore.
