Just cut off a friend for making fun of me for liking BTS. 😴 I am sorry but if you make fun of my interests and do not respect me enough to create a safe environment for me to share my personal opinions and likings with you, you are a waste of my time.
It's about self respect and boundaries. Differences are bound to happen in any human relationship but there should be effort from both sides to accommodate the other person. Relationships and friendships aren't one sided but I expect certain boundaries to not be crossed. How do you claim to be someone's friend but do not have the basic respect for them as humans?
"But it's just music" and this behavior will bleed into different things. Right now they are making fun of your musical interests, tomorrow it will be something else. It's very easy to judge someone's character through their behaviour around you and how they respond to your interests and things that make you YOU.

Did…did Toga literally pull Midoriya out of a huge battle like she did with Uraraka just to talk to him about her feelings, along with ask him to be her boyfriend? And she gets all pissy when he rightly turns her down, given the fact they have NOTHING in common or any sort of positive interaction?!?!?
Wtf is with this character? Seriously why is she so popular when she is so one note?!?!?

I once had a blog, a long time ago.
I think my confidence was killed by gradschool. Being around people who look like they know what they're doing or what they're talking about made me feel small and inexperienced. One year later and I am at a lost at what to do with my life. With my confidence, my drive went away as well. I can still draw and write, but was too afraid to share. I was a fan, but no one I knew wanted to share the experience with me.
So here I am tumblr. Let the games begin.
Me a couple days before my first exam: lol, food? What's that?. Hunger? Never heard of it
Me, to my brain cells, the day before the exam: LISTEN THERE YOU IDIOTS, WHO'S THE FUCKER THAT THOUGHT THAT NOT EATING WAS A GOOD IDEA!!??? I'm not mad. I just want to know.
I feel like many tumblr users could get a lot of value from periodically reminding themselves (both for their own posts, and when encountering other people's posts full of the particular brand of emotionally manipulative language I see go around all the time on this website) that:
While it is absolutely true that no one is obligated to put aside their own emotional reactions to stressful conversations that directly affect their day-to-day lives in order to act as objective educators for every rando who hops in their inbox with disingenuous, lazy, or Marginalization 101 level questions, the reason for this is not because there is some threshhold of marginalization beyond which you're just, like, allowed to be an asshole now and everyone else has to deal with it.
The reason is that teaching is hard fucking work, and teaching emotionally charged subjects that affect you personally can be doubly so.
But!
If you aren't going to put in the work to be an effective educator - for whatever reason, including if you just want to vent about your own personal experiences in your own online space - without doing the work of actually teaching other people about said experiences, then you do not get to demand that your personal rants be treated as containing any kind of educational authority, either.
Tone policing is a shitty, asshole thing to do to people who are just talking about their own lives.
It is also an incredibly important skill to learn and employ for yourself if you want to teach.
Personal vent spaces are a super valid and positive way for some people to let off steam and destress about shitty things in their lives, and everyone deserves to have people - friends, family, kind strangers with a lot of empathy to share - to lean on for empathy and validation during stressful times.
Realistic and effective education, on the other hand, is hard fucking work, and your vent post does not and should not count as an educational resource if you are not putting in that work to make it one for the audience that you are hoping to reach.
