If you'll indulge me for a second, it's been a while since I read the books

But the TV show is heavily showing Annabeth realising how bad the gods truly are... possibly in an effort to make Luke much more sympathetic to her.

In the beginning of the show, she's very much on the side of the gods or at least, she's very much on the side of Athena always being right and wise and smart. Then we get not only Medusa's story that shows Athena's pride, but also the St Louis' Arch which shows Athena's pride is above any kind of love she has for her children.

I'm interested to see where they take this, whether Annabeth has a much harder time seeing Luke as the enemy (which is already evident in the books). I feel like they're setting up Annabeth potentially thinking about joining Luke.

But then, again, they're already painting Percy and Luke as such foils to each other. Percy also thinks the gods are bad and he wants to be nothing like them; he won't betray anyone, and we see Annabeth realise this in her speech to Hephaestus. So, when we get to the second season (hopefully we're getting the second season), Luke's betrayal of Thalia will hit even harder.

I wonder if Annabeth's character is going to become a really interesting mid-point between Luke and Percy; two people who don't care for the gods but where Luke has no problem betraying anyone or killing anyone in his way, Percy would literally rather die.

After ep 5 and Ares saying that he intentionally starts fights on twitter, I'd love to always reply to clear rage bait posts with "Hi Ares" from now on

No because I don’t think you understand, episode 2 and Percy asks Luke why Clarisse’s crew doesn’t mess with him and Luke says “They know better”.

So when Percy comes back to camp and Luke still (STILL, AFTER THE TRIO TOLD HIM DAYS AGO) hasn’t told Chiron (hasn’t even told Chiron?????? Like he can tell Chiron and the two can keep it low key).

Percy knew something was up right away. Why wouldn’t Luke at least tell Chiron about something as important as this, especially when Percy knows that Clarisse’s crew would never go against Luke because “they know better”?

I think it’s so funny when I’m arguing with someone about the changes with pjo and they say “It would’ve been better if not for Disney!”

Like yes. It would have been. I do not like Disney. I am not even watching it on Disney +. The show could’ve had more episodes and longer episodes if not for Disney’s weird way of limiting TV show seasons, but that’s also the same for every single streaming service at the moment. Do not blame the writers for the problem the studio execs made. Maybe instead of hating on the show for weird reasons, we band together to show Disney how serious we are about a season two and convince them to allow the writers to have more room to tell the story? Change can only happen if you want it to.

There are obviously very legitimate constructive criticisms of the pjo show (the pacing, the limited episodes, the run time of those episodes) and I still love the show so much but allow me to be a hater for a second;

Ok the best decision that Percy Jackson TV has made was absolutely cut off Annabeth's crush on Luke in the adaptation cause honestly what was Rick thinking? I'm not even saying it's wrong, I understand it's normal to a young person to crush on a older one (what isn't normal is to the older one reciprocate, and Luke asking if Annabeth loved him was too ambiguous for my linking), HOWEVER, the sibling drama is so much fun!

Can we talk about Percy seeing his mom in the underworld?

Look at how horrified he is.

There isn’t even a sliver of relief at seeing his mom again. The only thing on his face is wide-eyed terror.

Now look at what Sally looked like:

Percy saw his mom and it instantly reminded him of being encased inside Hephaestus’s trap in Waterland. Paralyzed and awake while he suffocated slowly and painfully. He’s remembering the panic he felt when he thought he was going to die and how much it hurt when he was freed; Even though he was alive, his lungs burned with every inhale and his head spun from lack of oxygen.

Now he’s putting his mom in that position
