an excerpt from a lovely letter i received from a friend the other day:
“what delights you in life? if you could only keep 5 items from your room/house, what would they be? would you rather never be loved or never be able to love? green yarn or blue yarn? do you think there’s an afterlife and if so what would it consist of? are you afraid of death or just what dying takes away? do you think trump will win the next election? what do you think defines love? why do you think humans evolved in a way that allows out hearts to be broken? lions, tigers, or bears? do you want to live in a city when you grow up? if you could draw happiness, what would it look like?”
naturally, i had to respond with some miscellaneous questions of my own:
“what are some of your favorite smells? cabin in the woods or in the mountains? lakes or oceans? storms or sun? what made you laugh most recently? what did you eat for breakfast? if you could only listen to one album for a whole year, what would it be? who is somebody in your life that has spectacular eyes? tell me about their eyes. addition or subtraction?if you could only keep 10 items of clothing/shoes/accessories, what would they be? draw them! why do i waste so much time on the internet? red, orange, or pink lipstick? if you could travel anywhere/to any time period, what times and places would you travel to? silk scarves as headbands, y/n? what is your favorite citrus fruit? silver or gold? film or digital photography? which day of the week is your favorite and why?

Reincarnation was an interesting theory, you decided.
It was a philosophy that held the utmost importance upon karma and charity. In a way, it made sense. If you did something good in a past life, you should be rewarded in the next one with good fortune. This mindset explained how some of us seem to have been born under the worst circumstances that was only added on by very odd and horrid luck that appeared in the form of people or situations. While others have the rare ability to just waltz past life without a single hitch to hinder their enjoyment.
You deduced that you must’ve been a very wicked person in the life prior to this one.
