"It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of our colleague journalist, Ismail Al-Ghoul, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike while courageously covering the events in northern Gaza. Ismail was renowned for his professionalism and dedication, bringing the world’s attention to the suffering and atrocities committed in Gaza, especially in Al-Shifa Hospital and the northern neighborhoods. Without Ismail, the world would not have seen the devastating images of these massacres.
Ismail was a determined journalist who refused to succumb to hunger, illness, and the loss of his brother. He relentlessly covered the events and delivered the reality of Gaza to the world through Al Jazeera. His voice has now been silenced, and there is no longer a need to call out to the world. Ismail fulfilled his mission to his people and his homeland. Shame on those who have failed the civilians, journalists, and humanity."

"The Palestinian prisoner who was tortured and sexually assaulted by Israeli forces at the notorious Sde Teiman detention center has been returned to the facility, Haaretz newspaper reported on 1 August. ...
“The return of the detainee to the clinic at Sde Teiman, the facility where he was subjected to torture, is a serious ethical and professional failure of the medical officials and hospital management who were involved in his medical care,” doctors at Human Rights Israel said. “Through this decision, the medical teams exposed the detainee to the possibility that he would once again meet the soldiers suspected of raping him, thereby putting his life in danger.” ...
On Wednesday, the UN human rights office issued a report saying Palestinians detained in Israeli detention centers since 7 October face waterboarding, sleep deprivation, electric shocks, dog attacks, and other brutal acts of torture.
“The testimonies gathered by my office and other entities indicate a range of appalling acts, such as waterboarding and the release of dogs on detainees, amongst other acts, in flagrant violation of international human rights law and international humanitarian law,” UN Human Rights Chief, Volker Türk, said in a statement." – The Cradle ↓

The Gaza Strip's Ministry of Health has reported the first verified case of polio virus, highlighting the necessity for a widespread polio immunisation program. The ministry has worked with international organisations and the UNRWA to create a comprehensive plan. The program will target children under the age of ten, with one million and two hundred thousand doses distributed in collaboration with UNICEF. The ministry asks foreign organisations to act promptly to cease Israeli aggression and provide immediate medical assistance. It also advocates for the reconstruction of safe drinking water and sanitation systems, the proper disposal of medical waste, and unrestricted access to medical supplies.
