The 96th Annual Oscars
Its come to my attention that the Oscars are on tonight and to that I say...
FUCK THE OSCARS. I don't care how many years it's been on. I don't care who's hosting it, who is on the red carpet, what they’re wearing, who wins, who loses. I don't care about any of that. What I do care about is what's going to happen during the Oscars; in Gaza and in Rafah and Ramallah.
Today, well tonight actually is the start of a Muslim Holiday known as Ramadan. It’s a holiday that lasts a month long so about 29-30 days where those who are able to participate, fast from sunrise to sunset. They do this every single day of Ramadan. They eat a meal before sunrise then break the fast after the sunsets. On every single website that I saw while researching this month it's regarded as a holy month. A month focused on self-reflection and spiritual improvement. It's a time for community and these people are starving to death. They are dying from malnutrition and disease because of Isn't Real. The lack of supplies, proper food, access to proper medical care for the sick. Also because the fucking US vetoes a humanitarian ceasefire.
This is insane and now people who live in the US are gonna be tuned into what's happening on the red carpet. After what happened during the Grammys I have no doubt that my feed is gonna see a lot of talk about the Oscars and I hate that. I hate it!!!People are dying!! People need help!! Those attempting to leave to get to Egypt have to pay like $5000 thats fucking crazy!! It's crazy, it's insane, its sick and twisted, and so very disgusting. I want to scream! I truly want Palestine to be free! I want Palestinians to no longer worry about when the next bomb will drop or how long till they get their next meal. I hope they never have to pull another body out of the rubble.
Death to the colonizers and shame on those who are silent in the face of genocide. I hope for the liberation of Palestine in this lifetime and wish much success to those who continue to take Isn't Real to court as well as the countries who are taking action to support the liberation of Palestine.

I'm actually a tiny bit worried (but will try and stay optimistic). Not because I don't think the movie will be lights out fantastic; I mean Emma Stone's worked with Yorgos Lanthimos before. They're both brilliant and talented, plus the reviews coming out of the festivals have been pretty good and I'm looking forward to seeing it in December. It's going to be a competitive Oscar year, though, because for Best Picture it's likely going against Oppenheimer, (Barbie I think will get a nod too), and some others that have shown some promise and per the usual there will be some politics/PR of sorts.
When it comes to the Best Actress, once again, I'm optimistic she'll get a nom. I am a fan of Emma's catalog (with a few exceptions but due to script/role) but it's going to be a hot race I think. As a viewer it's a good problem to have, but I do so love to watch Emma act. She's so dynamic and I will be rooting for her I'm sure. (No shade on the other actresses either, they're a pretty good bunch when they get the nom).
might as well start practicing the title "3x academy award winner emma stone" now so y'all are ready by march 🤗 if you weren't aware, she is a producer on "poor things" whom yorgos lanthimos has accredited the heart and soul of the film to. the director noted that emma was involved in every aspect of said film, hence a well-earned accolade if the picture is able to come away with a best picture win.

The category this year was, as it often is, competitive and congratulations to Emma Stone on her award. The last words in this edit: I hope we get to keep doing more together...I do, too. Talented group of women who've entertained us, made us thoughtful about ideas and situations and perspectives that we may have not previously considered. They've made us laugh, too...and cry...and rage against injustices in the world. The world is a chest of riches and those multi-faceted treasures are its people. Cherish each other, love each other, entertain each other.

Emma Stone wins 'Best Actress in a Leading Role' for 'Poor Things' 96th Annual Academy Awards (March 10, 2024)

Best Actress in a Leading Role for "Poor Things" US actress Emma Stone, Best Actor in a Leading Role for "Oppenheimer" Irish actor Cillian Murphy, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for "The Holdovers" US actress Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for "Oppenheimer" US actor Robert Downey Jr. pose in the press room during the 96th Annual Academy Awards
Honestly I got pretty sad Spiderverse didn't won the Oscar.
Not to say the winner is bad, but Spiderverse is such a celebration of creativity, combining various drawing styles and creating new animation techniques.
This movie is such a needed middle finger to the stagnation and lack of creativity brought by Disney and other big Studios. Nimona, too, I'll give them credit for that.
Wish they had won.
Edit: Just to clear up, because some ASTV fans are bashing The Boy and the Heron, I don’t have anything against this movie. While I personally wish another movie had won, this movie deserves all the credit for it’s win.

Congratulations to the 2024 Oscar nominees for Best Picture!

Robert Downey Jr. wins Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Oscars. It is his third nomination and his first win.
help this whole time I thought Cillian Murphy was a butch lesbian or something that is a whole ass man

He wore black to officially bid goodbye to his days as an Oscar-free actor because from this moment on, all films starring the Bobfather will bill him as an Academy Award Winner. There is nothing more attractive than being on a stage to accept the most prestigious award in your industry while your loving wife looks beautiful as ever supporting you all the way through your journey. Just like RDJ, we’d like to thank his stylist Erica for giving us the best looks yet this awards season. || March 10, 2024
