He's My Love Story - Max Verstappen
Summary: A man was never meant to be her happy ending. This is the 21st century, women are independent and men suck. Right? But if that’s true why can’t she fight the overwhelming feelings for this man?
No part 2 requests please

Y/n works in RB and has been Daniel's media manager for his team duties. She's a professional.
Max sending gifts and constantly popping up to "see Daniel" when Daniel isn't there, is definitely something she hasn't missed out on. But it's on a day off around the hotel that Max spots the young woman in a dress that makes his chest flutter.
"Y/n!" Max exclaims without a moment of filter or planning what he's going to say next when he watches her head whip around.
"Max." Y/n smiles looking like she's prepared for battle. "Did you send me tulips?"
"I...asked them to put some tulips in your room." Max confirms honestly since he's never seen sense in lying. "This is a very beautiful dress. Are you going out?"
Y/n sighs smiling a little. She's fought Max on his advances for months now, not because she doesn't like him or because she thinks that he's a nuisance. It's just that she initially found Max to be quite intimidating because of his reputation. He's since proven himself to be a sweetheart.
At least towards her.
"I was going to go to a restaurant that I'd heard was good and take myself on a date." Y/n smiles making him raise an eyebrow.
"On your own?"
"Yes." Y/n hums looking at him like she's almost challenging him to comment negatively about it.
"I was just looking for inspiration actually. What restaurant is it?" Max states making her look at him for a moment before relaying the name and earning a grin. "Thank you, enjoy your meal."
And then he's gone. Which is actually actually unusual but y/n pauses for a moment before the doorman appears.
"Miss y/l/n, you taxi is here." The man smiles earning a grateful smile.
"Thank you."
-
Y/n was actually really enjoying her decision to go to dinner on her own. It took a lot of courage to get herself here and actually sit on her own, especially when the staff there looked at her with shock and no admiration for her boldness to go it alone.
"Sorry miss. This is for you from another guest." The waiter states placing down a cocktail down making her look at the tropical looking drink.
"Oh thank you. Uh...who is it from?"
"The man over there on that table there. He's also on his own in fact." The waiter states clearly wanting to make it clear that this is very unusual behaviour for the restaurant works to see
She follows his gaze and she's really sure that she shouldn't be surprised by who the waiter is gesturing to.
There he is in all his glory, actually fairly well dressed for once. Though she's not sure even with his status they would've let him in if he wasn't dressed for the occasion.
Y/n has to laugh a little as he raising a glass of water to her.
"If you could pass on my thanks."
"Of course."
Y/n takes a sip of the cocktail which proves to be a pina colada and can't even hide her smile as she shakes her head a little at him.
She has to give him credit for the fact that he is doesn't move over, he stays over on his table and it's almost as if they have a date from a distance. It's almost annoying that he's being so respectful.
But eventually she has finished 3 courses and a couple more drinks compliments of Max before she pays the bill, making sure Max isn't able to cover it before she leaves and he does catch her as she steps out.
"Let me drive you back." Max states placing his jacket over her shoulders since it's now cooled and she is feeling the temperature in such a reveal dress.
"Tempting." Y/n hums making him smile a little. "Haven't you been drinking?"
"On a race weekend?" Max smirks as if he hasn't before. "No, I haven't."
"A lift back would be nice. Thank you." Y/n nods making him smile before the valet goes to get his car. "So did you enjoy your meal alone?"
"It didn't feel as lonely as it looked." Max states which just about makes her melt.
"I'm glad to hear it." Y/n smiles lightly before his car appears and he smiles taking the car.
Max is ever the gentlemen, he makes sure he's gets the door, he reminds her to put on the seatbelt and he smiles driving away knowing that this might not be a date by official terms. But it was a nice night and he's certain she enjoyed it too.
"You know you've never actually asked me on a date." Y/n states as he drives.
"Haven't I?"
"No."
"Would you like to go on a date?"
"Oh no. Definitely not." Y/n grins earning an eye roll and scoff. "I'd love to go on a date with you. But only because you've really...made me see you differently tonight."
"I have?" Max frowns not having thought much of his actions and if anything he thought the might've even risked annoying her.
"See how easy it can be. You don't even know what you're doing right but you're doing it." Y/n smiles softly before fiddling with her bracelet. "It was kind of nice to not be completely alone there. No complaints to the staff, but they were definitely judging me...and you for that matter."
Max shrugs since unlike most people he doesn't care what people think of him or what they have to say.
Once they're at the hotel, the valet helps y/n out the car and takes the keys from Max before they both walk inside.
"Are you not walking to you room?" Y/n asks softly making her look at him.
"I'm walking you to your room first." Max smiles with a small shrug and he does exactly that just smiling as she opens her door. "Sleep well."
"You too." Y/n nods then moving into her room and letting out a heavy sigh of relief.
-
Y/n smiles looking at an unnecessarily large bouquet of blue tipped white tulips.
"I've known Max a long time, y/n. But you really have his head foggy...if he messes up I think everyone will blame you." Daniel states making her jaw drop and look at him.
"You can't blame me. Anyway, we've been on a few dates. I thought he'd stop with the bouquets." Y/n murmurs then smiling a little as Daniel hands her a note that he's already opened and read. "What did it say?"
"That he wants you to go visit him as soon as you get the message."
Y/n smiles a little shaking her head and sighing as she does so.
"You know...all those times I turned him down, you could've told me that he was like a secret die hard romantic." Y/n mumbles making Daniel smirk a little.
"I was going the psychological side. Plus he was giving me a headache with the way he was going on. Never shut up about you." Daniel jokes, well half jokes. He really means it that Max wouldn't shut up about her. "Come on, I'll visit Christian and you can say you were babysitting me so you don't get in trouble for leaving RB."
Y/n smiles mouthing a thank you before picking up a couple tulips from the bouquet and walking with him over to Red Bull.
"Go on." Daniel states as soon as they get into the unit and she disappears from his side rushing to Max's room since the Dutchman always hides himself away.
"Max Verstappen." Y/n smiles stepping into his room and earning his immediate attention. "According to Daniel, I'm a distraction and it's my fault if you mess up."
"Is it?" Max hums with a smile as he moves over to her and gently nips at the material of her top to pull her flush against her as Rupert makes haste of himself. "You know I think you look much better in Red Bull uniform."
"You would say that." Y/n laughs before finally kissing him lightly, feeling his hands scoop super her legs to wrap around him.
"I was thinking...what if...I stole you from Daniel?"
"Steal me? For what?"
"For my media management in the paddock-exactly what you do for him, but for me."
"When has business and pleasure ever mixed well?"
"Now. With us." Max states catching her in a few heavy kisses to try and help in her persuasion. "I think you should just agree with me."
"I think you might have a point." Y/n finally caves in. "But you have to put the request in officially and do it properly."
"Happily." Max smiles before looking at the tulips. "Did you like them?"
"You know they're my favourites...I can't believe you managed to get them-and so many." Y/n states then jumping down and picking them up. "So I thought I'd give you a couple to keep here."
"Y/n, you are are something special." Max whispers with a small smile. "I love you."
"I love you too." Y/n murmurs feeling shocked by his admission but honestly she is feeling that moment where a relationship really is locked in.
Max is a man who seems harsh and cold and sometimes a little mean but if all that comes accompanied by the soft side that buys her flowers and respects her space and wants her around all the time.
"You're really ruining my plan to be a single independent woman for the rest of my life. It was right on track and then you come in like a bulldozer." Y/n states shaking her head at him while he smiles at her.
"I'd say sorry but I'm not." Max shrugs as she grins at him.
"I know. That's what makes it even more annoying. You just make it so easy to turn my back on the life plan."
"Again. Not sorry." Max hums while pulling her closer to himself before they're interrupted by Daniel knocking on the open door.
"You two are shameless. Going to have to get a lock on this door soon bud." Daniel jokes before gesturing for y/n to leave with him. "Come on, we've got to get going. Christian is kicking me out and where I go you go."
"Yep. Alright, Maxie. See you later."
