Why I relate to Gene Belcher
He happily does his own thing.
He really sees that life is about doing your own thing.
2. He refuses to follow any trends or obsessions, meaning he's not a follower.
When everyone is busy being a bunch of Tina's, Tammy's and Jocelyn's, he's always himself.
3. He knows how hard life can be.
I can relate to this one! Adulting sucks at times!
4. He doesn't care what other people think.
Hey, he's comfortable in his own skin.
5. He's afraid of snakes, and that is okay.
I have the same phobia of snakes, people. It's real.

Burgers, pizza, pasta, subs, hot dogs, ice cream-it doesn't matter. He knows what he's about!

So I went to an art exhibit recently, a collection of Native American art from pre-colonial times to the present. As you might guess, there were a few pieces whose artist was lost to time or erased. But instead of the usual “artist unknown” credit, the curators instead chose to label the artists as “Name Once Known”.
I think that’s amazing. It says, “we don’t know your name any longer; we’ll never know who you were, exactly. But you were a person once, and you mattered. You had a name, and you were loved, you had a life, and you made this art. And that means something. Your name was once known.”
I’m sorry, but I can’t ignore this drawing of mine, because I love this man too much ❤️

I want to credit @monstermonger for inspiring the style of this one. Her style gives me whatever the visual equivalent of ASMR is. It makes my eyes water (in a good way lol).
When I was young I used to ink with pen a lot, sometimes painting in with watercolor, but I'd gotten out of that since learning digital art. I'm finding I miss it. There's something about nice black ink that tickles my brain. With this piece I wanted to try to imitate the technique digitally. You can be the judge as to whether I achieved that.
