And the forbidden romance element!! Regulus is the last heir to one of the most notorious and shady dark wizard families (after Sirius is disinherited), meanwhile Barty's father is the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, very outspoken against dark magic and dark wizards! And yet Barty somehow becomes absolutely obsessed with Voldemort. Guess who else is obsessed with Voldemort? Regulus "I have a vision board of Voldemort's most heinous crimes on the wall above my bed" Black.
