OC-cember Day 6: OC Opinion (series)

OC Opinion is a series I came up with a couple days ago. Basically, what I do in this series is talk about an OC from another artist and give my personal opinions on it. If I am able to get the artists opinion on the OC or OCs themselves, that is.

I watched the new wonder woman movie

Here is my opinion that no one asked for.

1. Sis don't need the man, like I get that we need angst and all but still you had quite a while to get over him and now you get to see him once cause of bad magic that could end the world. Like sis is hung up on this man so much that she willing to risk the world. Girl you were raised in a land where you where taught that man where the root of all evil you should not need a man.

2. They did Bianca (pretty sure hat her name) so dirty like she was so sweet at the beginning and like I get that the wish sucked her kindness and humanity away but still she wished to be like Diana wouldn't she get her sense of justice if she got her confidence and strength

3. The scene from diana's childhood all the woman where hot, and as such that was the hottest scene. The girls where hot you can not argue with me

This is all about percy jackson, one of our beloved demigods

1. Percy’s Dark Side Everybody in PJO Fandom wondering, think, and say (or whatever, just like that, okay?) that he’s have dark side.

but for me, he did, and he knew it when he knew that he’s a demigod, a so of poseidon

It’s start when he killed the Minotaur. Every night, both in his cabin or Hermes cabin, he thinks why he killed the monster, beside to rescue his mother—and himself and all demigod stuffs why they’re killed monsters. His dark side get stronger when he grow up. (Like, okay, I haven’t read the first and second books, but I know it. He beat the God of War, Ares, when he’s fucking 12 years old. His dark side start get stronger at that time). He knew it and he keep it in secret. That’s why he act like jerk, annoying. That’s why he became sassy. Because he didn’t want to his dark side control him.

And first time his dark side awakened when he’s in Underworld (TLO)

His dark side fully awaken after he’s bathing in the Styx and killed all the Hades’s troops. He killed all of it, and somehow he also enjoy it. And he finally beat Hades.

Okay, from that, we knew his dark side is awakened. After that, Percy get stronger, both his normal and dark side. He killed, with help form his hurricane and satyrs, Hyperion. He killed the minotaur, again.

Also, like Eren Jaeger, Percy also very easy to get angry when his friend killed or hurt, especially Annabeth. He can kill anyone or anything who hurt his gf.

In the next series, after he woke up form 8 months sleep, he enter the roman camp. 

Son of Neptune: his dark side are stronger than before. Like in the War Game, Frank said that Percy fight like a demon. And when he fight Polybotes too

Mark of Athena: Leo knew somehow Percy’s dark side when Percy stare at him after he blew up the city. Also when he possessed by those freaking ghost and fight Jason. Piper somehow knew that our beloved Poseidon’s son have a dark side.

House of Hades: THIS BOOK! THIS BOOK SHOW US HOW DANGEROUS IS PERCY WHEN HIS DARK SIDE ALREADY CONTROL HIM!! YOU GUYS REMEMBER HOW PERCY WANT MISERY ‘DIED’ BC HER POISON AND HOW PERCY TOOK CONTROL OF ALL THE POISON AND ALSO HOW ANNABETH SCARED OF IT AND HOW SHE MAKE PERCY STOP!! (thanks to Tartarus bc of it, and their ptsd)

Blood of Olympus: Piper knew that Percy have dark side, after Annabeth ofc. It’s began when Percy accidentally blew up the ship’s toliet bc she’s telling her vision. When Piper think about Jason’s wound, she also started to think, what happen when if percy want to being fierce? ofc she start to think it after she saw Annabeth daydreaming, thinking about percy and their ‘trip’ to fucking Underworld.

So guys, if all of us is demigod and we enter the Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter, remember this: DON’T EVER MAKE PERCY ANGRY OR WE’RE DEAD, i mean dead like omg-he’s-gonna-kill-us.

2. Percy is the most powerful and most feared demigod, both in Camp Jupiter, Camp Half-Blood, and/or Olympus (and World) I’ve read all the Percy’s ability in Riordan Wikia, and he has the highest strength from all the idk 400 campers (from CHB and CJ) and unknown demigod. He has hydrokinesis, atmokinesis, geokinesis, and toxiokinesis. His superhuman agibility, durabilty, and strenght also the strongest of all the demigods. Maybe bc he’s the son of the oldest of Big Three, Poseidon, idk. Don’t forget about his swordsmanship and fighting skills. He also bore the Curse of Achilles, make him stronger. (I’m not talking about his ADHD or his empathy link or maybe he ever being a host for nekhbeth.) Somehow, he able to control it and don’t die. Let’s talking about his demigod abilities :)

Hydrokinesis: his main ability. This ability included: hydrogenesis (he can create the water), underwater breathing, general hydrokinesis, water immunity and solidification, sailing skills, and communication.

Atmokinesis it make him to control the weather, but it’s limited and not as strong as Zeus/Jupiter’s kid. This ability include the electrokinesis’ it’s mean he also can control and manipulate thunder and aerokinesis’ he also can control and manipulate the wind..

Geokinesis: it’s make him to control the earth, i mean not Gaea. With this ability, Percy can generate an earthquake or blow up a volcano. His control for this geokinesis ability is not strong as Hades/Pluto’s kids.But I believe when he finally get control of it, maybe he’s stronger that Hades/Pluto’s kid

Cryokinesis: percy can control the ice and snow or icy water aroung him, and make an icy hurricane. He also can manipulate the snow and ice with this ability. You can see Percy use this ability when he fight with Thalia (Titan Curse) and the roman gemigods (Son of Neptune)

 Heat Resistance: he’s fire resistant, bc of his father oceanic nature (like the cyclops) but it’s only for a few minutes. He still can feel the heat when he has longer contact with it, like lava.

Toxiokinesis: with this ability, Percy can control and manipulate the poison. It’s still a mystery why Percy can control it (just when he’s angry), maybe because poison is part of water.

Percy also have so many magical items. Let’s not talk about that. So, I mean, that’s why all the campers and the gods really respect him, except that Roman Bastard Octavian ofc. And, only Annabeth, his Mom, and maybe his father can control him. And that’s why all his enemies feared him and want Percy died. Percy is Monster Killing Machine.

Its was fine. Could have been better

Okay I binged watched Voltron season 8 the day it came out and I came away enjoying it. But it was one of those highs that made you delirious to the fact… it wasn't great.

I did enjoy it, I respect the creators behind it and honestly I think this fandom put far too much pressure on the Voltron creators with all these shipping wars.However, here are some changes I would have made.

1) LANCE, ATLANTEAN, WHY?

Out off all the fanfic AUs to choose from… why this one? Huh? It leaves more questions then it ever answers. Is he actually Atlantean? Can he shape shift like other Atlanteans? Or does he just have markings? I’m so confused and honestly this was one of the top five moments I was like… WHAT? What an unnecessary thing to do. It added nothing to the story and just left us all wondering what it meant.

2) ALLURANCE, WAS IT WORTH IT?

Okay, cool they committed to a ship. Lance becoming Atlantean was only worth while in the regard that when Allura left to save the universe it meant they had a more ‘meaningful’ goodbye.  

But like… it added nothing. Sorry Allurance fans but was that the relationship you wanted? Their first date, alright that was cute. Can’t deny that. But wow, what a rushed romantic relationship. It was ignored pretty much for seven seasons and then suddenly its front and centre in the last season? It was way too intense and didn't get me invested so when Allura ‘died’ I didn't care about their goodbye, cause there was no tension or build up before hand.

Don’t get me wrong I actually like them as a couple. They contrast each other nicely. Allura actually makes Lance think about others, makes him think deeply about the world and I definitely think Lance became a better leader because of her. Lance makes Allura relax and have fun, live in the moment and makes her smile. I like the idea of their relationship, I think it had potential, I thought their was some cute moments between them. Their relationship banter would have been great.

Does this justify giving us an over rushed relationship when you didn't feel anything at their goodbye? No. It would have been better to do no ships at all and left with ‘what if’. Leave the last conversation between Lance and Allura be her saying: ‘Lance, I quite like your ears now, but maybe its just you’. At least that would have some circularity with their relationship and mirrored their first convo.

3) UMMMM…. MORE PALADIN BONDING MOMENTS PLEASE

I just felt like there was a lack of paladin moments. There was no further growth between them. I think the main problem that caused this was that this season was serialised instead of episodic. What I mean by this was that there were not any stand alone episodes that just focused on a side quest or mission, like when Hunk and Keith when to the space Weblum; When Shiro and Pidge found the green lion; When all the team got stuck in the game show reality.

Shiro and Keith who are apparently brothers and mean a lot to each other and had good exploration of their past relationship last season but then had like 4 seconds of alone time. Why not introduce Shiro’s parents to Keith’s parents? Also more of Hunk’s family please! He was so worried about them last season and we got like… no pay off.

Instead, this whole season just focused on the lead up to the final battle, so this season was not character driven but plot driven and I think thats the main sin of this season, IT WASN’T CHARACTER DRIVEN.

4) HUMANS ARE OKAY WITH ALIENS?

Come on, humans can’t stand other humans but there is peace between aliens and humans? Don't buy it. Also the human race just got destroyed by aliens. So show these conflicts. Show that tension. Show the human race trying to get back on its feet.

Maybe merge Acxa's storyline with this prejudice. Have her say she’s used to it, get attacked and abused cause of her half breed status. Then have her attacked by some humans cause she's the only obviously Alien. But then have the other’s, like Griffin and Keith, protect her. Have a whole speech about unity and that at this moment all they have and can rely on is each other. That would have had a powerful message. Also it would have shown Acxa she is not alone. And it’s not cause she’s found a race of people that are similar to her and therefore except her, its cause people care about her and want to treat her as a friend and family.  

5) KEITH

Short and simple. In Keith’s fight with Shiro’s clone he got pointy teeth and yellow eyes. PLEASE EXPAND! I thought we were gonna get it again when Zethrid was fighting Keith. Maybe have the features permanent this time. But no…

It would have been cool a nod to Keith half breed status. If he learned to control his Galra features so he could use them in a fight. Also I love the idea of Keith being able to see better in the dark and utilising that skill to sneak into the kitchen at night.

6) HUNK SHOULD BE AN AMBASSADOR

Hunk finishes as a chief. Okay. Fine. Not great. You know what this season did show. He is great at building bridges between opposing people. He wants peace and has a pretty unbiased opinion as long as it all ends happy for everyone. Pidge says in the game show episode he’s the only to bring people together, lets show that outside of his kitchen skills.

So take his character development further! Have him be an Ambassador of Earth! and King of Peace Treaties! Shiro, Keith, Allura are all leaders in war. Hunk is a leader needed in peace.

7) SHIRO AND THE ALTAS

Okay, they should have taken an episode to explain why on earth Shiro was able to control and transform the Atlas. They said no one could pilot it but Shiro could. So take the time to explain why?

And there’s a pretty obvious answer. It’s cause he spent so much time in the Black Lion’s void. But what are the consequence of this? Can he interact with quintessence more? Can he manipulate it? Does he have a bond with the Atlas like he did with the Black Lion? (In my heart of hearts I wish there was a White Lion like there was theorised) Is he an alchemist like Allura?

Come on, Shiro understanding his new powers and maybe being the first ever human Alchemist/Druid is a cool story line.

Also, while he’s freaking out over this. why not introduce his future husband ! The guy who becomes his rock. His stability. The one that just sees Shiro as Shiro, who doesn’t have any past perceptions of him. Instead of idealising Shiro as their childhood hero, like the rest of the paladins did, let this new guy just like Shiro for himself. Then progress the relationship.

This would have made the last scene more meaningful rather then just throwing a meaningless LGBTQ moment to ‘appease the fans’. Its more offending when they do throw aways like that then actually taking the time to explore and build a relationship.

…I have other points but I’m gonna do that in a second post cause honestly its gonna be a long one. So stay tuned of my therapeutic rant of Voltron Season 8. It was fine but it could have been great!

Unpopular opinion but Like do we really like Gandhi ji so much ??? Like do we really think Britishers left because of non-violence???? I mean do you really respect him or you are just told to respect him????

Hypocrisies of social justice movements:

- Advocate free thinking and intellectual curiosity, but frequently engage in intellectual dishonesty and censorship when it disagrees w/ their prerogative

- "Freedom of speech for me but not for thee"

- Denounce dehumanization, but commit it frequently when people are "canceled"

- Claim to value the ability of discomfort to help people learn/change, but frequently defame ("cancel") individuals whose arguments make them uncomfortable, regardless of how realistic those arguments might be

- Use character assassination and censorship to have their way, no matter that this directly contradicts their principles of social justice

- Accept little to no criticism, despite criticizing endlessly

- Advocate 'embracing diversity,' but will dismiss/denounce/defame/demonize those who acknowledge differences and who insist that such differences should not be overlooked, and should instead be honored

- Appoint themselves the arbitrary arbiters of right and wrong: judge, jury, and executioner on every issue

They do all of this in the name of social justice

I appreciate what these movements are trying to achieve. But the lack of situational/self-awareness in them is astounding. They are isolating themselves in an echo chamber. They are losing people.

Hey so head canons about appearance when there is not a lot of concrete descriptors in the source material are very much up to the listener. Y’all gotta stop acting like people who don’t agree with the hive mind of this fandom are fat phobic or racist.

My personal, original, character headcanons before becoming active in the online fandom:

John:

Short, neatly combed hair. British south Asian who dressed in like elbow patches and bullshit hipster glasses he didn’t even need but wore cus he wanted to look like a distinguished professor. First edition books on his desk. The kinda dude who smokes a pipe for the aesthetic and refuses to drink well drinks at the bar. Basically a pretentious little twink so kinda on the money with the popular opinions tbh.

Martin:

Curly light brown hair. Clean shaven. Freckles and the kinda pale skin that gets blotchy/flushed easily. Grandad glasses but not like in a trendy way. In a thrift store cus he’s poor kinda way. In my head he has medium build. Like not muscled or fit, but not plus sized either. Just tall and solid with threadbare lil sweaters and he absolutely decorated his institute lanyard with vintage broaches. Rarely wears matching socks.

Tim:

Tim in my head is just Phil Wang in like California surfer fits. Dude wears board shorts and flip flops with his collared short sleeved shirts and ties. Really good at beer pong and pub quizzes.

Sasha:

Jessica Brown Findlay meets Angel Colby but like with hip style and ink smudges on her fingers and a cheekier attitude. Catherine Bohart personality vibes would be a close comparison but not quite on the money.

Elias:

Artfully dyed grey hair to hide his actual grey hair with that 1920-30 little bang wave. Lean but not like scrawny. Slacks, perfectly ironed dress shirts, douchebag Patagonia vests. His loafers cost more than a years rent in central and he has days of the week cuff links. He has the fake corporate smile that promises shitty snacks and forced ice breaker games and incredibly polished generic conversations.

Gertrude:

Lily Tomlin if she were British and way more serious. Yes, this makes me laugh now too.

Basira:

Literally just one of my friends but butched up a bit. (Sorry that’s not helpful for y’all’s imagination) intense when it comes to studying and pushing herself. Button ups and slacks and sensible shoes.

Daisy:

Long box black hair always in a bun but but with an under cut. Strong af but not bulky. Mean lesbian vibes. Sleeves always rolled up to her elbows and her shirts tucked in.

Melanie:

My self insert character. Bi bitch. Backwards baseball cap. Jeans and converse or docs. Oversized sweatshirts. Not cute knit sweaters but like old band crew necks and hoodies and soccer kits. (If anybody would love to go scream at the opposition fans it’s Melanie okay)Nose ring, messy hair to her shoulders. Always looking for a fight and a puzzle to solve.

Georgie:

Rose Matafeo if she was less chaotic and more put together. A wearer of Overall dresses with colorful tights and floral printed cardigans. A lover of tote bags and planners. She has a sticker of The Admeral on her hydro.
