maybe this is fucked up (it is) but the last few times I've self harmed it wasn't cause I wanted to hurt myself, it's because I love the way it looks as you slice through the layers of skin. the way you can watch the blood well up, the different ways you can do it to get different results. if you slide the blade it goes deeper but the pain is less intense. the blood will flow much better tho. however i prefer using the tip of the blade so tear through the skin, watching as the blood beads up at the places you cut deepest. it hurts so much better and is much prettier
