I'm catching up on My Adventures with Superman… And holy fuck
the mawsm bfu au isn’t actually a ‘what if they went on cryptid hunting adventures together’ au. It’s actually a ‘what if everyone was just a little bit more stupid’ au and I think that’s beautiful.
I dunno if it's just me but I'm getting the vibe that in My Adventures With Superman, they are setting up Lex Luthor as not a narrative foil to Clark Kent, like most people would, but to the flame bird himself, Jimmy Olsen. And that's just really interesting to me.
Jimmy Olsen is Superman's pal. Clark Kent's best friend. And as Clark said in episode four of season 2, was the first person outside his parents that made him feel safe and secure as an alien. As an outsider. Jimmy Olsen pursues the unknown with his flamebird vlog with a pure joy of wanting to find these things, (Aliens, cryptids, what have you) not to judge or persecute them. But to befriend and understand. Jimmy Olsen sees the non-human and reaches a hand out to it happily and welcoming.
Contrast that to Alexander 'Lex' Luthor. One who sees the non-human side of things and only seeks to control and destroy. He reacts not with joy and compassion like Jimmy, but anger and fear. Like Jimmy in the show, he starts off more or less a nobody. He doesn't have his own company at first, he is just assistant to someone else. Similiar to Jimmy woth his Flamebird Vlog. They are both starting out and getting looked down on. Then Superman comes into their lives, and both rocket to success. Jimmy as a department head in the Daily Planet, and Lex as head scientist of Task Force X.
Both had their lives drastically changed by Superman. And both have strong opinions on alien life. One is Superman's best Pal. The other is his worst enemy.
Clark giving the biggest sigh of relief when Lois chose Metropolis not just because that means she’s staying but because he just spent time researching a city that has a designated “Crime Alley” and a man who runs around in a bat costume beating the shit out of criminals
Everyone debating which superboy or if he's still going to be a clone in MAWS. I just want his origin to be so complicated, a clone with everyone's DNA mixed in.

In s01e07 "Kiss Kiss Fall in Portal", the interdimensional Loises recognise Superman and refer to him as 'the Clark'.
They are also used to the idea of evil Superman.
But if Kal-El came down to earth to invade it, he never would have gained the name Clark as he was raised on Krypton his whole life. So when the Loises neutralize Superman, how come they refered to him as Clark when the Evil versions of Superman who helped invade earth couldn't possibly have that name?
This could mean that the majority of evil Superman that were shown in the evil superman montage were sleeper agents akin to the Viltrimite strategy from Invincible?
@madametamma replied with "I'm sure some of them were. There are also those who went "Injustice" or "Justice lord Superman" on them. (Actually I wonder if the Lois that we saw in the Justice Lords episode who was kept under house arrest by Supes escaped and joined the league) or in some fashion was Clark as we know him but something happened to him that ultimately led him to change for the worse. I bet all of the Lois's on that ship have their own stories of "So how did your superman let you down?""
