a/n: you ever feel like luffy is one of the hardest characters to write for? no? just me? alr.

“it hurts!”

luffy kept shouting, chopper panicking cause how could luffy be wailing on the bed like that after hours of him taking care of him and see what was the problem?

food poisoning? an infection? a wound that went unnoticed?

“[y/n]! get [y/n]!” he started shouting then, acting almost like a child.

truth is, you were spending too much time with nami on the deck and luffy wanted to get your attention so bad. silly captain.

chopper ran out on the deck, searching for you in a rush as tears streamed down his cute face.

“[y/n]! luffy… he’s so sick, i’m sorry! he wants to see you! what if he’s dying??” poor chopper. you waved at nami, who observed in concern as chopper cried desperately as he felt bad and useless for being unable to help his own captain. “i’m sure it’s nothing too serious, chopper,” you tried to reassure the small doctor before smiling sweetly.

you then finally walked inside the bedroom, reached luffy’s figure lied down on the bed and sighed. “stop stressing chopper,” it is the first thing you say.

luffy opened his eyes and looked at you, smiling widely and doing a grabby hands gesture. now everything was clear. you sighed and went lying down next to him, then he wrapped his rubber arms around you and held you close to him.

“missed ya. shishishi!” your boyfriend giggled against your nape and you couldn’t help the smile forming on your lips. “you’re okay, lu?” you asked him just to be sure.

“yep! totally fine~!”

you nodded, relieved, and then tried to turn to hug his figure. “don’t make chopper worry like that ever again, he’s crying,” you scolded him, making him frown. “i was feeling sick! it was true, ‘cause you weren’t here!” he explained. “clingy,” you mumbled before shaking your head.

“[y/n] enjoys when i’m clingy, though,” he chuckled and held you even closer if possible. “hm hm,” you let him hold you however he pleased, of course.

yeah, you enjoyed luffy’s clinginess from time to time.

You asked for some one piece requests and I have one, reader who gets really energetic the less sleep they get, until the afternoon where they just, crash. Maybe how the monster trio reacts to it?

I deal with insomnia and I’ve noticed I get kinda manic and really energetic the less sleep I’ve had, but I often crash in afternoon, just after lunch commonly.

he likes seeing you being super energetic, not gonna lie. he’s hyperactive after all, lol.

but luffy quickly notices that the less sleep you get the more you have energy, for some unknown reason.

i think that luffy probably doesn’t look at it too closely because after his burst of energy he falls asleep too with you so it’s like “oh, me and [y/n] have this thing in common! shishishi!”

when he [senses] you’re gonna crash, he uses his hands to guide your body down and help you get comfortable for sleep.

would offer to sleep with you at night if that might help with your insomnia, by the way.

𝐙𝐎𝐑𝐎.

as someone who sleeps whenever he has time, you seem complete opposites.

zoro used to be a little worried in the beginning, since you rushed around the place full of energy and then after a moment you just fell asleep, even on the floor.

he thought you were feeling sick or something worse, but then got used to you randomly crash, that’s why he makes sure to be nearby when it happens.

he notices you crash around the same time of the day, so he just casually happens to do his stuff close to you when it’s time so he’s there to catch you and make sure you get your dose of sleep.

𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐉𝐈.

he would try any kind of tea, chamomile, etc. to help you sleep at night ngl. surprise surprise, they don’t work much.

at first sanji was worried because you were supposed to run low on energy, not be manic and energetic like that.

when he gets used to it, he too would be nearby when it’s almost time for you to finally sit down and get some dose of sleep.

i think he would make sure you’re resting in a quiet place on the sunny, that way you won’t wake up too soon or abruptly, he wraps a blanket around you, and stuff like.

— Luffy sat on the going merry's statue. He watched the ocean pass by as he smiled. He had everything he wanted. A loving crew, a ship, adventure on every step of the way to finding the one peice.

"Luffy! You might wanna see this!" Ussop called out as Luffy scrunched his face in confusion as he walked towards his crew, they were heading towards fog, yet, they were moving backwards?

"What the?" Luffy whispered before falling down as the ship crashed onto an island, he quickly got up as Zoro quickly jumped down to examine the harm that had happened to the ship, the following crew quickly following as well. He took off his hat as he saw the water penetrating the ship.

"It's broken, but fixable, don't worry." Zoro placed his hand on the boys shoulder who stared at the ship in pure sadness. "But now, we need to find shelter on this island, we can't risk adding weight to the ship.

"Seriously? Cooking over an open flame bow, what are we, animals?" Sanji complained as Nami rolled her eyes. Luffy wore his hat once more, Nami sat down on the floor, reading the maps.

"Guys, we aren't on the map." Nami said as the crew looked at her in pure confusion.

"What do you mean by, not on the map?" Luffy asked the girl who showed him the map that seemed like doodles to him. She stood up, pointing towards were they were supposed to be. "What sucked us in though?"

"There are tails, about a place at the ends of the east blue, siren Island." Zoro answered as he placed his leg on the rock, he leaned onto it, examining the woods inside. "They often control the waves or lure pirates by their 'angelic' voices. They lure pirates in and eat them alive, to keep them away from their land, the land that we just happened to land on."

Luffy turned around as he heard a voice. He started walking towards the voice as Nami held the boy back. He turned back to the girl, the voice instantly stopping.

"What did I just say." Zoro scoffed as he looked at the boy who smiled, he shrugged before walking back to the direction of the voice only for Sanji to stand in front of the boy.

"You hear angelic sounds and run the other direction mate, how are we not affected by this?" Sanji asked the boy who shrugged.

"I suppose it's based in preference, maybe the voice is appealing to him but not to us." Zoro shrugged. They heard noises coming from the shore, Turing around to find a girl in the water, waiting for her first victim.

She's so pretty. Luffy thought as he walked towards her, escaping Nami's grasp as he approached the girl. "Hi there! Where you the one singing?" Luffy asked the girl who nodded, she stood up, her seaweed makeshift top clung onto her, as her tail moved gracefully on the shore. The wind blew her hair away, her top occasionally flying away with it. "Well, it's really great! You know, we could use a singer on our crew!"

"Is her serious?" Nami asked the other who shrugged, Sanji walked up to Luffy, only for the girl to sneer at the boy as she grabbed Luffy, pushing him into the water.

"Luffy!" Nami yelled as Zoro reached for his swords, only for Ussop to stop him. She sneered her fangs at the boy who stood still. He raised his hands up, his eyes widening at the loss of his powers.

"We're not gonna hurt you. We'll leave, we just need help fixing our ship." Luffy said as he pointed towards his ship. The siren turned around to find the going merry. She turned back to the boy, looking deep into his innocent eyes. She let go of the boy, swimming back into the ocean. Sanji and Nami quickly helped Luffy up as Zoro made sure the siren who attacked their captain was gone.

"Are you okay?" Zoro asked the boy who nodded. "What the hell did you say to her."

"I just said we wouldn't hurt her." Luffy shrugged, soon afterwards they heard footsteps behind them, ussop and Zoro quickly turning around to find the siren from before, just in human form. She raised her hands up, smiling at the crew.

"Sorry for that, we sirens don't know who to trust and not too, constantly being hunted by pirates and all. I was just protecting my people, my sincerest apologies." She smiled at the crew, Luffy took off his hat as he stared at the girl. "Are you okay? I didn't hurt you did I?"

"No, I'm just fine." Luffy smiled at the girl who nodded. She turned back to carry a few wooden planks, throwing them onto the sand.

"To help rebuild your ship, take care." The siren nodded before walking away, Luffy quickly ran after her, grabbing her hand. She turned back to look at the boy. "Yes?"

"I still want you to join our crew." Luffy told the girl who sighed. She turned back, her graceful aura overcame Luffy's actions, he didn't know if it was because she was a siren, or if she had truly stolen his heart.

"A siren, joining pirates? Why would I do that?" The siren asked the boy who smiled.

"We're a different kind of pirates. We need a singer." Luffy smiled at the girl who shook her head. "You won't hurt me, or any of us."

"Sirens need human flesh to quench their thirst every month, what if I accidently kill you, or your crew?" The siren added as the boy turned back to his crewmates. He turned back to the siren, smiling at her.

"Then we'll find a substitute, or we'll let you leave and come back a day later, whatever you need." Luffy told the girl who turned to face the going merry. She always wanted to be a pirate ironically, now she had the chance, why not take it?

"Okay." She nodded. Luffy jumped in happiness as he dragged the girl back to his crew.

"Okay guys! This is uh," he turned over to the girl who smiled.

"Y/n." She answered as Luffy nodded, Turing back to his crew.

"Y/n, she's apart of our crew now!" Luffy smiled as Zoro's face quickly changed.

"What! She just tried to kill you?" Nami yelled as the siren put her head down.

"She was just protecting her family, like you guys protecting me." Luffy defended the girl, causing her to smile. The crew looked over at eachother.

"Is she gonna eat us?" Ussop asked the boy who scoffed. Y/n crossed her arms as she frowned. She knew it was hard for humanity to accept siren, yet no one had ever bathmouthed her straight to her face.

"Guys seriously? I'm captain and I say she stays." Luffy scoffed at his crewmates who sighed. He was right, he had full authority, more then anyone else.

"Aye eye captian, I must say, she is a rather pretty lady." Sanji joked as he winked at the siren who rolled her eyes.

"I will eat your face off if you talk to me that way again." She threatened the boy who frowned as Zoro laughed at the boy.

"I'll grab a few sirens to help rebuild your ship, I'll be back." The siren smiled at the boy who held onto her.

"Wait." He said, handing you his hat, placing it on the girls head. "Now you have to come back."

"I will." The siren smiled at the boy who nodded, she walked to the shore swimming off as he smiled at the ocean.

"What a lady huh!"

— Luffy smiled as he ran over the deck, perfecting everything that looked slightly unpleasing. He hadn't seen you in months, going back to his old village meant seeing you again and he wanted it to be perfect. You both kept in touch by sending letters and after a while, ended up buying phones to reach each other faster.

Nami sat on a crate, her legs crossed as Sanji and Zoro stood beside her. Ussop was attempting to stop Luffy from falling overboard. She looked over at the two boys who rolled their eyes. "Not one bit huh?" Nami asked the two who nodded.

Sanji had faith in the beginning, believing the boy since well, he has a heart of gold, but after a while of hearing stories that sound like tales out of a naive boys mouth is well, unbelievable. Yes, it was possible for him to have a girlfriend, yet she can't be great in everything.

She can't be a fantastic with swords and a genius in the medical field, she can't be the best cook, better then Sanji Luffy might say, and have a hand for crafts. Maybe he was simply overcompensating about his love.

"Luffy, the ship looks great, I'm sure your girl will love it." Sanji smiled at the boy as both Nami and Zoro let out stiffled laughs.

"Whats so funny?" Luffy asked the group who looked at eachother. Luffy grew more concerned as he took his hat off, sliding them onto his shoulders.

"It's just that we uh." Nami started as she tried to figure out a way to frame it in a decent way.

"We don't think she exists." Zoro answered as Nami turned to the boy, her eyes wide as he shrugged. "What, it's better then lying."

"Y/n is real, why don't you guys believe me?" Luffy asked the crew who stayed quiet. He looked among them as he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "She's real, shes a pirate too, well, was a pirate."

"Yeah, and a doctor, and a cook, and a writer. She seems perfect, no one is." Zoro looked at the boy who scoffed.

"Well, she is, and look, we're here so you'll see for yourself!" Luffy said as he ran towards the front. Nami sighed as she stopped the ship, Luffy instantly jumping down, running towards a trap door. He opened it, jumping down for the group to follow him.

They were placed in an old basement, filled with materials and a section with belongings. "What is this place, it's so, rusty." Sanji said as he pinched his nose due to the horrid smell of fish guts.

"It's my home, well, was my home." Luffy smiled at the group as he walked over to his old bed, he opened a chest, taking out a satchel with his old belongings before climbing back up. "C'mon, I got my stuff, let's go meet Y/n!"

"Yeah, cause that's totally not stalling." Nami said as she climbed out, helping Zoro up as she ran after the boy who ran towards a bar.

"Luffy! My god we missed you!" The bartender smiled at the boy who hugged her. He turned back to his crew, looking around for another person.

"Hey Makino I got the broom." You said as you entered the room, you looked up to find Luffy who stood in shock. You dropped the broom as you ran towards the boy, jumping at him as he caught you, spinning you around.

You kissed his lips as he smiled, he set you down, wrapping his arms around you as he turned back to his crew who stood shocked. "Wait, she's actually real?" Zoro asked as he turned to Nami. She shrugged as he turned back to you.

"Guys, this is my very real girlfriend, Y/n." Luffy introduced you as you laughed. You waved at the group who waved back, Sanji with a huge grin plastered on his face.

"What a nice young lady you are-." Sanji's sentence was cut off by Luffy who had punched the boy, you covered your mouth before turning back to Luffy who looked serious.

"Luffy!" You yelled as he turned back to you, his expression softening.

"What?" He answered as you fliched his hat, he smiled as he held onto it, kissing your cheek before carrying you up, spinning you around one more time.

"Cmon now, I wanna show you my ship!" Luffy smiled as he held your hand, running towards the dock where the going merry happened to be. He skipped up the ramp as you looked in awe at the ship.

Luffy leaned onto the railings, smiling at the girl who stood on shock. "This is your ship? This is yours?" You asked the boy who nodded. He seemed proud of himself, you knew he had a ship but never expected a huge ship with an actual flag.

"C'mon, I'll show you my room, our room." Luffy smiled at the girl who scrunched her face in confusion. Luffy jumped down, holding your hand as he stared into your eyes. "Y/n, I want you to join my crew, we need someone like you, you know what you're doing, your perfect, your kind and smart."

"I left that life behind." You sighed as he looked away, you could tell her was upset. You hated being apart, he hated it more. Luffy was always an affectionate person, being away from his loved one hurt more then anyone could ever imagine. "I suppose you do need help to find the one piece."

Luffys face brightened up as he looked at you, smiling before carrying you up to the ship. You giggled as he set you down in the Captains quarters. The place was surrounded in pictures and souvenirs from adventures they had gone through. A desk filled with books and paper, probably stories written by him. You turned to the bed that seemed big enough for two people.

"You planned this, didn't you?" You turned to the boy who smiled, raising his eyebrows. You laughed before setting down on the bed. "I'll go get lunch ready?"

"No need, Sanji 'll do it." He smirked as he placed his hands on your waist, you smiled as you looked back at the boy, he traced your scar on your left cheek with his fingertips in such a loving way. "Now, let me show you how much I missed you my love."

You love it more then him, it was slowly killing you, killing him. He couldn't live without you, you weren't only harming yourself but everyone else.

He turned to you, sadness evading ever look on his face as you turned to him, you exhaled the air that was slowly polluting you as you lowered the cigarette, your smile evading. "Just spit it out now." You whispered as he took off his hat, figetting with it.

"It's hurting you, I don't like it when you get hurt." He started. You scoffed before placing the cigarette back into your mouth, you had this conversation everyday. You knew it was hurting Luffy but they were the only thing, beside him, keeping you alive. You wanted to stop, you did, you went to bed everyday deciding to quit, only to buy another box the next morning.

"I know Lu." You muttered as he sighed, looking down at his fingers. "I'll-."

"Stop?" He asked, interrupting you as you stayed quiet. "You always say that, you're killing yourself and you know it." He cried, tears falling down on to his hat. You felt guilty, the guilt made you want to take another hit, and you did, and he cried more. "You're taking another one now! Seriously!" He stood up, looking down at you as he sighed. "I can't anymore Y/N, you have to make a choice."

"You can't expect me to choose right now Luffy." You whispered as he frowned. His eyebrows knitted together in thought before crying once more.

"That is a choice." He scoffed as he slid off, walking towards his cabin as Nami and Zoro watched from on top, Zoro had climbed down, knocking onto Luffy's door as Nami walked towards you.

"He's right you know. " She says, sitting beside you as you sighed. She placed her hand on yours, taking the cigarette before putting it out and throwing it away.

"I wanna stop, seriously." You cried, you turned around as you heard Luffy's wails and yelling, the sudden urge to ignore Nami and light another one up surfaced once more.

"I know, but you have to try harder." Nami sighed as she placed her head onto your shoulder. "Luffy's scared, that your gonna end up dead from them, he wants to spend the rest if his life with you."

"I'm gonna go tall to him." You muttered as you slid off, walking towards his door as you knocked, opening the door to Find Zoro and Luffy talking. Zoro stood with his arms crossed as Luffy's face was red, he crossed his legs on the bed as he had his hat in his hands. You signaled for Zoro to leave you two alone as he turned to Luffy who nodded his head.

As he left the room you took a sigh, looking at the boy who seemed cold towards you. "Go on." He spat, pain evolved in your chest as you sat beside the boy, placing your hand on his hand only for him to turn around.

"I'm sorry, I want to stop, I really fucking do, I'm sorry." You whispered as he scoffed. "I know you don't believe me but I will, promise."

He finally turned around, scanning your face for any sort of signs to show that you weren't exactly truthful, but all he saw was remorse, he let out a soft smile as she held your hand. You fished for your cigarette box, sighing before handing it to him as he smiled.

He placed them in his as he looked into your eyes, pushing your hair behind your ear as he leaned in, placing a soft kiss to your lips before gaging as he recieved a taste of cigarette ash.

You let out a low laugh as he spat on the floor, turning back to you and pushing you onto the bed he hugged your waist, pulling you close to him. "I love you baby."

— You woke up to Luffy, snuggling you close after the exciting night you had, you stirred to the side, picking up Luffy's shirt that was lazily discarded onto the germ infested floors, grabbing your shorts from the other side as you took your bandana. You tied your hair before walking out to the kitchen.

It was a habit of yours to cook breakfast every morning, a routine you were not to break so easily. It kept you alert and in the repetition of the mornings, it gave you comfort. Waking up everyday to do the thing you enjoyed. You hummed to the song playing on the radio as you walked into the kitchen to find a black-eyed Sanji. You giggled causing him to turn around.

"Why hello there, I must say, its nice having company this early in the morning." Sanji smiled as he prepped the ingredients, flour, eggs, sugar, butter. He's making pancakes.

"Pancakes huh?" You smiled at the boy who laughed. You walked towards the island, grabbing a bowl as you cracked the eggs into them, beating them as you added the other ingredients.

"A cooker huh, guess Luffy was right." Sanji nodded as he stared at your methods, it wasn't at a beginners level, in fact, rather professional, he smiled as he found a new partner in crime, someone to assist in his duties. It was comforting knowing he didn't have to wake up everyday at 5 AM alone to cook for his crew.

"Yeah, I used to help cook for my dad's crew." You answered as he smiled, dealing with the dry ingredients. The two of you spent the next two hours, sharing stories and laughs as you occasionally threw flour at him as you baked the goods. As he looked away, you added your secret, ingredients to the batch. Cocoa powder and maple syrup, it always took the pancakes to another level. You turned to the clock, it was 8 AM. "Oh shit, I gotta go get my stuff!"

"I'll save some for you!" Sanji yelled as you smiled at him as you walked down the ramp in Luffy's shirt. You could see some of the dirty looks a few new villagers gave you. A devil fruit eater, what a waste. That's what they all thought, but Luffy was different and you knew it.

You walked into your house, walking into your bedroom as you collected your belongings in two travel bags. One for your outfits and another for your special belongings and gifts from Luffy you hold onto. You grabbed a photo of you and Luffy as children with your father in the back. I miss you dad. For a while, you regretted not joining him on his last voyage, but also felt some sort of relief. It was always dangerous, you were 8 and knew how to wield a sword like the great Mihawk.

— Luffy yawned as he turned around to find the other side of the bed cold. She must have gone to get her stuff. He sighed as he walked to find the shirt he had worn yesterday, only to find it gone. He smiled before walking to his drawer, he always let an empty drawer in hopes of this day, he grabbed his flower shirt as he walked to the kitchen where both Nami and Ussop stood. Zoro soon emerged after Luffy staring at the pancakes that were made.

"I had a little help from a new friend." Sanji smiled as Luffy smile grew wider, he quickly sat down, taking a few from to his plate as he took a bite, the familiarity exploring his mouth. Her secret recipe.

"Whoa, what did you add?" Nami asked the boy who seemed confused. "I guess she added it didn't she."

"It's Y/N's secret recipe, I recognise the taste." Luffy nodded as Nami and Ussop looked at eachother. "I told you, she was a better cook than Sanji."

"I actually believe that now." Sanji smiled as you walked in, your bags left on the floor as Luffy stood up, he placed a kiss on youe cheek before smiling at you. He carried your bag as you sat down, taking one of your pancakes.

"I'm sorry I changed your recipe." You apologized to the boy who shook his head, he smiled at you as he took another bite, the flavourful pancake made him explode, he was sl curious. "I could teach it to you."

"That'll ruin the surprise." Sanji winked as you as you rolled your eyes, Luffy joined you as he sat down beside you, a smile evading his face as he kissed your cheek, placing his arm around you as he fed you your meal.

"I'm gonna go practice." Zoro announced as he stood up, grabbing his swords as he walked out, only to be stopped by Luffy.

"Well, Y/n could help you out!" Luffy smiled as you shrugged. He looked you up and down before nodding. You stood up, grabbing your sword as you walked with him towards the deck.

You noticed the crew watching the two of you to see if Luffys tales were a reality. You sighed as you got into position, closing your eyes. You often found yourself using sound to your advantage. You heard Zoros scoff as he yielded his sword, waiting for you to attack.

You ducked down, going behind him before kicking him, successfully taking him aback as you attacked, he raised his sword, it colliding with yours before you back flipped and slid across, kicking his legs down as you continue to collid swords.

He stood up, sliding to the other side as he tried to attack you with the back of his sword, only for you to touch the blade with your hand before kicking him in the stomach. Luffy quickly jumped down, examining the small cut on your hand.

"Shit, you okay?" Zoro asked you as you nodded.

"I held the blade, it's my fault anyways, you're not to bad tho." You smiled at the boy who nodded. Winking at you as in a 'your not bad yourself' manner before walking off to get the medkit as Luffy held onto the small cut.

"That was stupid." Luffy scolded you as you rolled your eyes, bandaging the wound before walking to the figure head with Luffy, placing your head on his as you stared at the ocean. "I'm happy you're here."

"I'm happy I'm here too."
