Mirage Comics - Tumblr Posts
I saw your tmnt unpopular opinions post when scrolling through the rottmnt tag, and as someone who grew up with 2003 and will adore it to the end of my days---- YEA it should have ended after season 4. SAINW should have definitely had more time/build up/repercussions but as it is now still sticks with me 2012 April is such a victim of the writing. When I was younger I thought I just didn't like her iteration but she really isn't that bad. Just not written well so much wasted potential
This is really just a fun fact that i didn't learn about until I was older: In the original original comics of tmnt, april was not white. She was black or mixed. I'm not sure where/when the change happened but it is what it is
I really hope you don't get harassed for your opinions, have a great weekend!
Hi anon! Thank you for reply and I’m glad to know that there is someone who understands my pov of 2012 April. Unfortunately, her character is constantly criticized, and some of her fans get harassed.
I’ve heard of that fact about og comics April. I’m also curious to know why there was a change.
Fortunately, I haven’t been harassed for my opinions. The fandom does have some toxicity problems but-as far as what I’ve seen- it isn’t as bad as other fandoms.
I also hope you have a great weekend! 😁
Oh. My. God.

WE COULD'VE GOTTEN A MIRAGE-STYLED CARTOON. INSTEAD WE GOT THE 2003 VERSION..... I AM SO SAD 😭 THEY'RE SO EXPRESSIVE TOO AHHHHHHHHHH. WHY WARNER BROS, WHY??!?!!!?!!

yabba dabba doo

Fun fact:
There is a good reason why TMNT is one of the most successful franchises of all time, because it got off to a really good start. It was produced independently by Eastman and Laird using money from a tax refund and a loan from Eastman's uncle. The original Ninja Turtles comic remains one of the grittiest, striking, and memorable comics I have ever read. Before the turtles became pop culture reference spewing goofballs, they were badass, red bandana wearing, merciless ninjas who eliminated their enemies often swiftly and quietly. In the original run, the turtles killed Shredder at least three times.
The comic was a huge eye opener for me. It was the first time I ever realized how different adaptations can be from their source material. That comic encouraged me to go back and read all the books and comics that all of my favorite movies and tv shows were based on (a pursuit I have continued to this very day).
As much as I'm mixed on Mutant Mayhem, I still give it my most favorable, most sincere wish for success.
May three of the most successful movies in 2023 be animated movies. May artistry be celebrated. May the ratings go higher than PG and beyond if the storytellers need it to be.
