Love this. And those two pictures of Miles are among my favorites. Just want to add that Pattern is a song that begins in the car:

And the last verse is about trying to recapture the momentum of the abandoned dance:

I've often thought about that In the Mood for Love dance sequence and why it was cut from the film. It's a story reflecting on missed opportunities and I wonder if Wong Kar-wai found it to be too much like lovemaking to fit in his "ballad of what could have been." The dance is better suited to the characters' dreams than their reality. Peak longing. Peak Milex.

"In the mood for love" or "Miracle Aligner"...

People sometimes link Miracle Aligner videos to Dancing In The Street (Blowie/Jagger)... It may well be.. but B/J dance is not sensual - at all... But take "In the Mood for Love". Miles' favourite movie - he even has a poster at home (and a t-shirt) so maybe inspiration comes from there... The dance (gifs you see below) was filmed but was never added to the film. I might be nuts but it almost feels like they are on the movie set of that movie... and... well... the lines between reality and fiction are blurry anyway... Honourable mention - tanktop

That is L'Ombre dans le Eau. I have worn this for years and it smells like crushed roses and blackcurrant and green wood. It sparkles. It's about as far away from unisex as you can imagine. Like, in my mind, this is what Galadriel smells like.

And now we know that's what Alex smelled like, c. 2008-11. A rare woodland creature indeed.

Hey Milex Truthers, I want your thoughts

Is it possible Louise and Alex are over?

Looking at Taylor's Instagram, yesterday, 9/22 she posted "today is sourpuss Sunday." Aka heartbreak anniversary.

Louise posted...nothing. it was the anniversary of her launch, right? She's always posted something related to Alex on that day before.

Also, today is Bisexual Visibility Day. Just saying. Could our boys be in Ibiza celebrating the end of a PR relationship?

Maybe I'm being too shippy, but I like looking at patterns. Am I reading too much into this?

Today I discovered that Alex Turner was not* in a relationship both times that TLSP projects started.

Timelines:

Jan 2007 - Alex and Johanna Bennett break up

Feb - Mar 2007 - AM on tour with The Liitle Flames. Alex and Miles write together. (* Nb: they had written some songs at the end of 2006 too so technically I suppose he was in a relationship then but hardly saw her)

Apr 2007 and Jul 2007 - TAOTU demos done.

6-8 Jul 2007 - T in the Park. Alex and Alexa meet but she already has a boyfriend.

Aug 2007 - TAOTU recorded in France.

Oct 2007 - Q Awards. Alex and Alexa officially together for the first time.

Apr 2008 - TAOTU released.

End Jan 2014 - Alex and Arielle break up.

11-20 Apr 2014 - Alex and Miles go on a road trip to Coachella and listen to old TAOTU songs on the way. Miracle Aligner first strummed.

Rest of 2014 - Alex and Miles - Power Couple Era

Dec 2014 - Aviation written.

Mar 2015 - Alex and Taylor get together.

Summer 2015 - EYCTE recorded in Malibu.

April 2016 - EYCTE released.

This is all just a very long winded way of saying what I said at the beginning. However I thought the timeline made the history clearer (well it does for me). I’d never realised that Alex and Alexa weren’t properly together when TAOTU was recorded in France during that idyllic summer…

I cannot believe this came up in my Milex chat, so let me out myself as a garbage movie nerd.

I think they probably watched 1990s action classic Face Off on the bus before the gig. That movie is INSANE. The move Alex is doing is referred to by fans as "the face waterfall," here demonstrated by John Travolta on poor Joan Allen (what is she doing in this movie?!?)

not to be confused with its companion move, "the face-off"

The important thing here is:

okay... for some reason i'm hearing "two-timer" whilst shuffling the cards. i'm also sensing that the emperor and the empress could represent alex and louise though i'm not sure which of the cards represents them (ex : alex could possibly be the empress and not the emperor). they don't seem to have a harmonious relationship at the moment. they aren't on the same wavelength either , both physically and spiritually speaking. "i can't feel your love" , someone here is being a bit too controlling or bossy over the other person , making them to not feel deeply connected with them.
