Ship that needs more love: 💖

While it’s not my favorite, i do think there’s a big dearth of good mikalight fic out there. it’s an interesting ship, and explores an entirely different part of who Light is when he’s with someone. With Misa you see him with someone who loves him a lot, but doesn’t challenge him and isn’t quite at his level knowledge-wise. With L, its someone who challenges him, is as intelligent if not more so than Light, but didn’t express the love Light wanted. But Mikami! Mikami is smart and really, really likes Light! But he doesn’t really challenge him bc he believes so much in Light’s wisdom or what have you. There should b more written abt that!

Ship that pisses you off: 💣

L/Naomi…up your nose with a rubber hose i say………also pretty much Light with any woman, more for their sake (he has “hate women” poisoning) than his.

Ship that makes you sad: 💔

it doesn’t make me sad, but harry/draco makes me more emotional since i’ve been reading it for a while, and those books were a big part of my childhood, so when i read that ship, it makes me see a lot of my own growth in the characters.

Ship that is most misunderstood: 💢

weirdly, I think Lawlight is the most misunderstood ship despite it also being the most popular. I’ve seen maybe a handful of people interpret in a way that wasn’t just pasting L and Light into generalized “hot gay dude” roles. There’s nuance to their relationship that you don’t get if you only view them as a) horny people with handcuff fetishes or b) evil masterminds, or c) cinnamon rolls who did nothing wrong. but to each their own i guess.
