Harpoceras faces the direction of a juvenile Thalattosuchian (marine crocodylomorph), away from its blind spot. The scar on its shell shows it narrowly survived such an attack in the past

Ouf of the way! The fast bois, Placenticeras are moving. These underwater frisbees and similarly shelled ammonites experience less drag during higher speeds underwater as their shell shape is more streamlined
