Overwatch Recalled: D.Va
Ok, so, I think I’m going to be making a series out of character who are joining the Recalled Overwatch in Overwatch 2 based off of information from Blizzconline. I would have done this as the first one, but after talking about Zarya in my Rein/Brig/Bastion animated short post, I wanted to do her post first. Anyways, D.Va!!!
Hana Song a.k.a. D.Va is a member of MEKA, the Mobile Exo-force of the Korean Army, which is a specifically created military group for fighting the Gwishin Colossus Omnics that will emerge from the East China Sea and attack South Korea. I think that this is really important because D.Va has an important role in protecting South Korea, being the only member of MEKA who has single-handedly taken down Gwishin Omnics, so I found it surprising that she would have joined the Recalled Overwatch so quickly.
I knew that it was going to happen eventually, but I thought it would be a situation like I think Symmetra will be in. I thought that Korea would be attacked by either the Gwishin or maybe Talon, MEKA is called in to fight them, Overwatch shows up and asks them to join, Lucio would probably be key in inviting them since I think that they would already have an established relationship due to celebrity status, but Korea needs the MEKA pilots, so they decide that D.Va joins Overwatch and the rest of the pilots stay in Korea.
But, since D.Va is already confirmed to be a part of the Recalled Overwatch I think that she asked to join when seeing what Overwatch was doing. I would assume that she would contact Lucio to ask if she could join, he would say yes, then she would meet up with them in Toronto, Canada which is going to be a place where I’, pretty sure one of the animated shorts is going to be, or a cutscene.
Anyways, eventually I am going to make a post talking about the rest of the MEKA squad and Dae-hyun Park, but the next post will probably be about either Pharah and Baptiste joining the Recalled Overwatch.
TLDR: I think D.Va will be either invited to join Overwatch or will ask to join Overwatch. If she is invited, it will probably be after fighting by their side during an attack in South Korea. If she does ask to join, she will probably contact Lucio about it and then meet up with them in Toronto.
Overwatch 2 Maps: Monte Carlo, Monaco
During Blizzcon 2019, we learned about a couple of maps including Toronto, Canada, Gothenburg, Sweden, Rio de Janeiro, and Monte Carlo, Monaco. I’ve made posts about all of these maps except Toronto and Monte Carlo. Currently, I can’t come up with any theories that involve Toronto, but I came up with one that has to do with characters that are linked with Monte Carlo. So, this post isn’t exactly a theory, it’s more of an overview about what the place is like in real life and what the map is going to be like. This will help me explain an theory I have planned for the near future.
The Real Life Place: Monte Carlo, Monaco is at the base of the Maritime Alps and along the French Riviera. This places it close to the borders of both France and Italy with the main language spoken being French. It is known for several things including: how rich it is, the Formula Grand Prix event, their casino’s, and the beaches.
In the Game, based on images: It is an escort map. The payload is designed to look like a blue race car that follows a road through a city that is close to a river. We know that there is one casino that you can get into which I think will be a spawn room and another spawn room will be a mechanics shop. In the area we know will be a spawn room, you can see a yellow race car that is being fixed or having its tires changed.
In the Game, based on other parts of the lore: Maximillian owns a casino called Casino Monaco. It is used as his base of operations, we learned this in the Masquerade comic book.
Anyways, I’m almost done with my masterlists, so those will be posted in like half an hour - 45 minutes. I’ll be posting about the Mystery Omnic from Storm Rising and eventually the MEKA Squad.
TLDR: Monte Carlo, Monaco will be an escort map with city/streets terrain. The payload will be blue race car. Two buildings we know that will be in the map are Maximillian’s casino and a race car mechanics’ shop that is a spawn room.
Overwatch/OW2 Theories: Storm Rising Mystery Omnic
Since the 2021 Archives Event is probably a couple weeks away, I was thinking about the challenge missions, Uprising, Retribution(my favorite one), and Storm Rising, and what theories I could come up with. I came up with two, but if I took more time to think about it I can probably come up with more. Anyhow, the first one I thought off was, “Who is the mystery Omnic talking to Doomfist at the ending cutscene of Storm Rising?” I’m going to talk about my theory and another theory that I found while researching.
Basic Information: He is an Omnic with red eyes(Are they eyes, sensors?). His voice actor is most likely Ramon Tikaram. He is seen with a hooded outfit. It looks like you can see his wiring in a similar way to Blackwatch Genji.
My Theory: I think that the mystery Omnic is from Null Sector. Doomfist says, “...you fight for your kind...” which would make sense for a character that is part of an extremist and violent group. Both Bastion and Orisa’s Null Sector skin show them having glowing red eyes(will go with eyes) just like this Omnic. This would work with my idea that Talon is attacking Zenyatta to kill him because he is a proponent of humans and Omnics living in peace, so Null Sector would want to work with Talon to kill him.
Mondatta theory: Please go read exactly what was written, I’m adding to it. So, I like the idea that a Shambali Omnic turned bad would be a good enemy for Zenyatta, but I feel like it can’t be Mondatta. It is really reinforced in the Alive animated short that Mondatta is dead, he shouldn’t be able to come back (it would be an interesting twist, but I feel like it shouldn’t happen). But having a Shambali monk that Zenyatta knew would be a really good way to give us more Zenyatta lore. In my post about Talon attacking Zenyatta, one photo I show has an image of a Null Sector Omnic that looks a lot like the Omnic from Storm Rising. They both have the hood and have the red eyes.
Anyways, I’m going to make a post about the MEKA Squad later. Then, I’ll make a post about a specific member of the MEKA Squad and what connections they might have to another known organization, it’s going to be a kind of out of there theory, but it is also kind of fun. I’m also going to do a post on Fio, Blackwatch’s pilot that saved Reyes, Moira, Genji, and McCree during Retribution.
TLDR: I think that the Mystery Omnic from Storm Rising is a member of Null Sector who might have been a brainwashed Shambali Monk. They might have been the one to ask Widowmaker and Sombra to attack Zenyatta in India.
Overwatch/OW2 Theories: Casino’s link to Talon and Why it is Important.

The other day I made a post about the MEKA Squad and might have mentioned that Casino was going to get his own theory, so this is it. A while ago, I made a post about why D.Va is joining the Recalled Overwatch and while I still think that that post still holds up on its own, I now have a reason why she would join the Recalled Overwatch rather than “she just wanted to help more people”. What is that reason, you might ask, well have you read the title of this post? This is all about what connections Casino, who we hardly know about, has to Maximillian (and if you don’t know who Maximillian is, to be brief, he is Doomfist’s accountant and a high-ranking member of Talon).
So, let me explain!
His Aliases: We know that D.Va is a play on the world “diva” a synonym for a female singer/popstar, D.Mon is a play on the word “demon”, Overlord is a reference to StarCraft, and King is... well King is King, but why Casino of all names. I think that the developers chose “Casino” because it is in reference to the fact that Monte Carlo, Monaco is famous for its casinos. Going off of that, Maximillian owns a casino in Monaco.
Mech Name: D.Va’s mech is Tokki, D.Mon’s is Beast, King’s is Singijeon, and Overlord’s is Mastermind. All the names of the mechs are in either English or Korean, but Casino’s is called La Princesse Sereine in French (the Serene Princess in English). As well as being in French the name of his mech might be a reference to the Serene Highness which is what the reigning families in Monaco are called.
His Previous Occupation: While all of the MEKA Squad used to be former professional gamers, either playing StarCraft or Mecha Guardian V, Casino was a former Formula One racecar driver. This is a nod to the Monaco Grand Prix is a Formula One race which Casino may have attended(not sure if I’m saying that right, I don’t know much about cars or races).
“Why is this all so important,” you ask, because this would be a really good reason for D.Va to join Overwatch. If Casino betrayed MEKA , that would be a really good opportunity for character development for D.Va. I say this as a D.Va one trick, she isn’t that deep in terms of character. Right now she comes off as a reckless kid who live streams her battles. After Shooting Star she will probably be more mature, but having Casino betray them would give her a better reason to fight compared to fame, money, or because she had it.
And, hey, I want a Talon tank that is charismatic. I love Sigma, but I want someone who is the kind of character to take up space with the way they move and talk, kind of like Mauga, whenever we get to see him, and I want a villain that is evil for the fun of it. Most of the main Talon cast, in game, was forced into it or does it because they has other motives, but making Casino the character who likes being evil would make him a good villain because he used to be friends with Hana, and that would really give her a good reason to join Overwatch. Finally, having him join Talon in game would probably give us more fun interactions with Sombra which I am 100% down for.
Anyways, I think I am going to take a break for a day or two, life has been pretty busy recently, but I’ll make sure to make a post about Fio first.
TLDR: Casino’s aliases, previous job, and mech name are all reference to Monaco, where Maximillian is from. If Casino ends up being a Talon tank, it would be important because it would give D.Va a really good reason to join the Recalled Overwatch. Also, I want a Talon tank that is charismatic and evil for the sake of it.
