whenever I write a fanfic I always think I'm messing up the characters personality and I think one person reads them and goes ' damn they fucking up [character] ' and it makes me worried

how I think the gorosei sleep
Curled up into a ball wrapped completely in covers - Peter, Marcus
Laying flat on their back with a cover neatly draped over them - Nusjuro [when not hungover], Warcury
In a comfortable position that is reminiscent of contortionists with the cover wherever the hell else - Saturn, Nusjuro [when hungover]
I'm imagining the elders cracking their backs or stretching and it cripples them for a good 3 minutes straight before they're able to actually get up again
Oh my god I still can't get over the height difference
Headcanon but i think nusjuro is the shortest and shorter than warcury and Saturn by a half inch, Marcus is taller than Peter also by a half inch and nusjuro gets relentlessly teased about it, Warcury and Saturn are the same heights
on God i have like three or four variations of gorosei lore that I can think of and I just sift through them [though the first one is what i use the most and is my "main" lore, the others are speculative]. Like [these are VERY oversimplified]
one is where they were born yokai, took human disguises and wreaked havoc- once Imu came to be, mu convinced them them [beat their asses] and forced them into the human disguises for the majority of their life, mu taught them the rest of what they needed to know since they knew most of everything besides coincidentally, their job titles
the second one is they were actually people who were about to die, whether by killing themselves or of old age and Imu simply...took their bodies and corrupted their souls, and basically took control of them, they get remnants of their past in their memories but could care less
The third one is they were yokai summoned BY someone to defeat people raiding their village- they got access to stuff they shouldn't of and released evil [aka them], and then Imu stole them basically and took them in so mu could do their silly ahh plan
the fourth is that imu MADE them into what they are now, self explanatory but imu just went " haha funny yokai!! " and they got transformed lmaooo
none of these r that creative or expanded upon because I haven't settled on one yet, mostly due to lack of information of the Gorosei and Imu rn 😭 I am a die hard yokai gorosei fan though
The fifth is that after centuries of chaos and despair, they just got bored and wanted something new- so Imu allowed them to join mu and then BOOM WORLD GOVERMENT!!!!!!!!
The 6th is that Imu straight up created them. Like entirely, they are just imus creations in and out.

for starters I'm doing sercrits story first because she's newer and has less about her like a LOT less. Like a LO
Sercrit is the first sphinx to live, nicknamed the Mother Sphinx. Shes a bit older than the Gorosei [not by much, btw in my headcanons they are just yokai] and she's actually fairly well acquainted with them, mostly because she's SO FUCKING ANNOYING. She traveled around a LOT before the void century and would run into them constantly and would bother them before they were found by Imu, and she took a liking to Nusjuro because, to her, he was the most amusing and actually got a lot of her riddles right. After imu she didn't see them for a while and during the Void century she toppled a country and became its ruler, finally staying in a single place instead of causing chaos everywhere. At the end she was imprisoned in a "rock shell" [she was actively turned into rock but was still sentient] for up until about 20, 30 ish years before the main story and the city was defeated and toppled, left to rot. She was freed under a contract by, guess who, the gorosei!! [under orders of Imu] so she just hangs around with them mostly. She can't actively hurt any of them or anyone affiliated with them [for example, other Celestial dragons] due to her contract else she would be turned to stone again!! she's had a bit of a character development and became less immature during her imprisonment and would much rather spend her days lounging around in Pangea Castle with Nusjuro rather then forcefully rule over any kingdoms
Callie stuff under the cut because it's a LOT.
Callie is a! Special case! For starters, she was born as a slave to a Celesital dragon and so were her parents. Her dad was killed 5 years after she was born [they werent always slaves but callie was born into slavery] so it was her and her mother up till she was around 12, then her mom was taken away and then she was alone for another 2 years. So she was 14 when she ate the Flesh flesh fruit [Summary: the flesh flesh fruit allows the user to manipulate their body with no boundaries, turning into incomprehensible horrifying things with the price of excruciating pain and everlasting hunger: basically, body horror shape-shifting. Once you eat the fruit no wounds or scars remain unless they were there before you ate it, so Callie still has her Celestial Hoof scar. This ability also comes with near instant regernation which makes this fruit powerful and dangerous, which plays a part in the story] and when she overheard her captor talking about selling her off just like her mother. After so many years of torment she completely snapped, and due to the fruits affects not only did she break out and kill her captor and several other slaves but she also ate them due to being so damn hungry. She got out the place and figured out she wasn't even in Mary geoise, but rather some old run down shack with a GIANT basement in the middle of a snowy island, with townsfolk nearby. Here's her actual BACKSTORY backstory because I'm not typing the rest of this out I'm ngl BT THE WAY the ages in the backstory are the old ages, rhe ones I say now are the new ages

Callie was born as a slave. From birth, she was exposed to horrid sights no person should have seen nor experienced. Every day was a new struggle- lack of food, water, the filthy conditions, being overworked by the age of 5, and many others. She witnesses people be shot and killed for speaking too loudly, dropping dead from any number of diseases or from the conditions. But, her light in the darkness was her parents.
Her mother and father weren't always slaves. They spoke of the days before their debt landed them in a never ending rabbit hole, when life was happy and joyful. She would listen to the stories with a smile, resting in her mother's lap as they kept quiet so her Celestial Dragon captor wouldn't hear. She felt happy, despite her conditions.
Until, one day, her parents were disposed of. Her father was tortured and killed after defending a child who was going to be whipped for disobeying, and her mother was sold off to another celestial dragon. She was now left, alone. But, on the day of her mother being sold, hearing the screams of her being dragged off and begging for her child, a fruit dropped into her cell.
It was round, tan, red and purple. It almost looked like meat, but Callie didn't care. She was so, so hungry- any fruit would suffice. Despite it being disgusting, she kept eating. She was so hungry, having been starved for nearly a week straight by now. So...hungry...
Callie lost herself. The fruit was, indeed, a Devil-fruit, the Flesh-Flesh fruit. Insatiable hunger filled her body, her very soul, and paired with the trauma she had endured and the thought of her parents being gone, she went berserk. She stood and broke out of her cell, before tackling her captor- who was extremely confused and threatening her with a gun out of fear. (1/3)
(2/3) She satisfied her urge by devouring the man infront of her, brutally, where the slaves could see through their cells. She continued to rip him, flesh from bone, until nothing but his arm in her mouth was left. She stood and walked directly out of the building- which, was not in Mary Geoise- rather a shack with a basement kept in a snowy island. She tracked blood through the soft snow, dripping it and knawing on the bone hanging from her mouth, slowly forgetting the stories her parents told her and the happiness they brought- and ultimately, them entirely.
After several months of tormenting, torturing and cannibalizing the citizens in the island, the World Goverment was notified. Hearing the descriptor of this woman, what she can do, this brought the attention of none other than the Gorosei. Only a few flesh-flesh fruit users existed before, as the fruit was rare due to its power. But, now they had their chance to study it.
They went to the island and successfully captured her, taking her back to the castle where they put her in the basement, restrained. Their "experiments" and "tests" were nothing more than torture to satisfy their curiosity and amusement, wanting to see how much she could handle. It got to the point where she stopped caring about the debilitating pain, both afflicted and in her stomach. The first time she was brought there, she was starved for almost 4 years straight. Keep in mind, she was only about 10 at the time.
She slowly got used to everything over the years, numbing herself to it. She remembered nothing from her childhood besides a few blurry faces and getting her brand on her back. Due to the brand being before she ate the fruit, it was still there. Over the next 19 years, she was used as nothing more than a weapon- or, when the Gorosei got hungry, a source of food to tear and sink their teeth into. She grew indifferent, relishing in the slaughtering of those she thought of, to an extent, as animals to hunt. (2/3)
Over time, she was transported to different facilities via the Navy. Only the higher ups and a few mid-ranking marines actually *knew* of Callies existence, as the Gorosei wanted to keep it mostly private. While she was being held in Marineford at certain periods, she grew fond of the Admirals, Fleet Admirals (both former and new) and the two Vice Admirals, since they treated her with decency and respect, something she nearly never experienced before. She grew attached, then obsessed, often breaking out just to see them. She was upset when she was taken away, but quickly regained herself as a trauma response. Bottling up everything to the point all she knew was what she was told and ordered, she was a nearly perfect weapon of war. To be starved over and over, tortured, maimed, transported and treated like an item instead of a being broke her entirely. She knows nothing but to eat, to consume, to devour-
-But deep down, she still did have a longing. A longing to escape one way or the other, wether it meant death or not. A longing to be as normal as she could be. A longing that came from her childhood, a longing her parents gave to her. Yes, she wanted to be free. But she couldn't be, not yet and maybe not ever. Hunger still bubbled in her gut and she wondered if she would ever be normal. Someone like her did not deserve to be seen or heard by anyone. She was a danger to people and she didn't know how to cope. And that was what she would believe, for then up until now. (3/3)
I have been imagining a dungeon meshi x one piece au where laios tries to eat the gorosei and the groups like " DUDE NO " but senshi caves and one of the gorosei wake up in their monster(?) Form and see senshi cutting off slabs of meat from them but they regenerate instantly and are too groggy to care and go back to sleep.
Senshi makes a broth with Nusjuros bones and gets some leftover slime noodles and eggs and takes some of warcurys flesh and makes Ramen. Marcus' flesh gets fried, Peter's scales are used to cook his flesh [like a pan, because they're so thick] Senshi experiments with Saturn's and Laios eats a raw slice and gets sick [Saturn's flesh makes you sick if it's raw, you have to cook the poison out] but otherwise it's delicious. Saturn's is more tender but Warcurys is more tough like WAY more tough but is a pot juicier, Peter's flesh tastes like a snakes and is a little bit slimy? The slime makes for great lotion, but Marcille REFUSES to eat it because " HES A WORMMMM. " Nusjuro's bone marrow is served separate but is also put into the Ramen. Saturns is seared like a steak and Peter's gets put on some rice. They're infinite food machines. God dammit I wish I could eat some I'm so hungry
current gorosei thoughts: demon slayer au where nusjuro gets thrown into the world as his younger self, but he's still a yokai and becomes a demon slayer. Everyone but Tanjiro thinks he's cool because Tanjiro can smell that he isn't human and is wary of him, demons can also tell he isn't human and the smarter ones don't go near him

Callie facts with questions I COMPLETELY MADE UP ❗️❗️❗️ guys I'm so good at this [no I'm not] [warning for uhhh. torture and uhhh descriptions of body horror and uhh idk just sadness :( ]
Why is she naked?
Her being naked is a mix of dehumanization and the issues her devil fruit gives her with texture. [And also because when i first designed her, the inspiration i used was the rake- the nakedness makes her look more uncanny, weird and frightening] Her skin has become extremely sensitive due to her cells constantly regenerating. She can feel her insides more than a normal person can due to this as well- she CAN wear most fabrics, but the irritation varies. Things like wool, cotton, sherpa and satin would make a rash that regenerates as soon as it forms so she refuses to wear it- other materials she can tolerate for a bit before having to have it taken off. The reason leather does not bother her is because it is made from animals flesh and skin- the hair is removed, there's no small strands rubbing against her skin like sandpaper [in her opinion]. Another thing is if she wanted to wear clothes, she could, but why would she? Again, it's a dehumanizing tactic the gorosei do- she hasn't worn clothes in ages anyway and every time she does it's negative. It also makes her feel lesser than others as clothes are a normal part of our everyday lives and a sign of respect. I mean, who would you rather befriend- a seemingly normal person or a maniac wearing nothing? Animals do not wear clothes, weapons don't either. It's cruel, but it's one of the many things that help maintain the order of the relationships she's allowed to have.
Also, it's used as a form of punishment due to the irritation it gives her. Since physical attacks don't work much anymore on her, the Gorosei have to use mental attacks. [Technically it's physical AND mental-] It might seem comical to anyone else, but imagine being forced to be wrapped in a material that constantly itches and burns your skin for an hour or two. It would suck, right? This all enhances that negative connotation.
[Another reason is because she just doesn't feel the need to- clothes restrict her movements anyways and always end up being torn apart. Her not wearing clothes is not supposed to be or represent anything sexual in any way, when I compare it to animals and weapons it is because she sees herself as lower than her peers around her until she is eventually helped in whichever story she's put in]
What's her relationship with the gorosei?
Not good 😓 They don't really like her all that much… though it's mostly bc they're repressing emotions around her
To further explain, the Gorosei are ALWAYS very reserved around anyone, very cold and detached. Callie never truly grew up from when she was 10, she acts like an insufferable child sometimes and the other times are always some form of a breakdown or coping mechanism. They never taught her anything of use aside from maybe a few fighting tactics. They actively push themselves away from her and treat her like shit unless they need to preserve some sort of trust in her. They manipulate her into thinking everything is okay by acting “nice” to her and treating her somewhat normally [although the dynamic is still there]. It's rare, but they do sometimes show some affection toward her [NOT in a weird way. like a father/daughter way at the most] but it doesn't last for long. This is enough to keep Callie wrapped around their finger- she can't remember ever having someone enjoy her presence or like her in any way, so these small moments of affection continue to keep her there. She thinks like a child, always thinking about the nice things they do while either ignoring or being unaware of the rest of what they do.
Here's a little list of short descriptions
Nusjuro: Neutral, just does what he has to. He would prefer not to get attached, so he thinks of her as an insect like anyone else. He rarely ever shows her any affection and was the one who taught her a few fighting styles so she wouldn't be too barbaric.
Peter: Also rather neutral, he doesn't really care what she does. He does show the most affection for her out of the five [which, is barely existent] but he's also easily annoyed by her and will randomly stop interacting with her or speaking to her [ignoring her existence] which makes her extremely upset and unstable.
Marcus: He was the one that found her, but he isn't attached. He brought her to the castle because she had extremely powerful and dangerous powers, not because he felt sorry for her. He just doesn't really care
Warcury: HATES how she acts, has attempted to teach her some level of manners at one point, which usually ended up with him yelling at her and throwing her into a cell for a few days. He only gives her head pats sometimes but that's the maximum, would rather just ignore her
Saturn: He likes her but not in a normal way, more so because she's a good test subject due to her constant regeneration and tolerance of pain. Very manipulative toward her because he thinks of every interaction as an experiment.
They would've probably gotten very attached to her if they were actually sane and normal, but alas, Imu exists 😔 They act like that as a instinctual thing to not let anyone get close to them as they know they would end up dead somehow, but that doesn't excuse the fact they are HORRIBLE to her
Whats with the veins, wide eyes and uncanny appearance?
Okay, imagine you decide one day that you need to look like an adult to try and fit in, to be normal and gain a semblance of respecf(?). So, you painfully morph your body into what you think an “adult” version of you is, and you hold that form for so long that you don't remember what you used to look like. Your bones aren't the right size, your skin is more translucent because it's stretched incredibly thin- your veins are visible at more areas on your body than usual. Your eyelids follow this, it's a bit hard and weird to close them all the way. Your eyes are bigger than they should be, since your blood flow in your skin has become even more thin, You're oddly pale. You look uncanny. As you actually grow normally [as callies growth factor hasn't stopped] of course your body tries to fill out itself, but you still look strange. This is what Callie did and why she looks like that. She won't ever look like a child again, but due to her basically “forcing” herself to grow she looks weird. This is also a small part of why her skin is extremely sensitive.
What happens when she experiences strong emotions/has a “feeding frenzy”?
Normally when she experiences a strong emotion, her eyes will dilate and she will act clumsy or bubbly, moving like a drunkard. This is also the start of some of her breakdowns, you just have to pay attention. Is she giggling or clinging to you? Is she hyperventilating, showing signs of stress? It's a bit hard to tell at times, but it just requires a skilled eye. Feeding frenzies are an entirely different thing though.
Callie can smell blood easily. The smell of blood or any wound/damage with a particular smell will make her hungry. Callie is already always starving 24/7, it's a unbearable aching feeling in her stomach [she wasn't always so hungry with her devil fruit, but after constant starvation it's gotten far worse], but her devil fruit craves human flesh to sustain it and her energy, so it multiplies tenfold smelling flesh. Her skin separating in a line down her body is actually more so a passive activation when someone has the fruit for abilities- its easier when your skin basically lifts itself off your muscles to tear and shapeshift, and it doesn't necessarily only happen when shes hungry, but more as a defensive mechanism. Once the adrenaline gets to rushing it happens, so fights, roller coasters, even having fun will do it. Most of the time for one of her stronger attacks she will split herself in two and a “hydra” will form out of her insides, but it's not often she actually does that. She is better at close range combat than far away or tank/crowd control.
What are her weaknesses?
Water and seastone are obvious ones. Burning takes longer to heal than cuts or blunt trauma due to it incinerating the skin. She could probably tank like 10 or so seconds of Kaido's dragon breath before getting weakened to the point it would take her a few minutes to regenerate, for example. Her fruit is VERY powerful, which is why the Gorosei seized the chance to take her in as soon as they were able to.
What does Callie feel about all of this?
Callie is a bundle of nerves and mixed emotions at this point, unstable and threatening to snap at any given moment. She's been through hell, she grew up in hell and will stay in hell for the foreseeable future [Aka I don't have an “ending” for her because I just rp different scenarios]. She's emotionally broken and easily swayed by simple affection and words of kindness, she doesn't have a real sense of self and thinks of everyone as above her. If she likes you, she follows your orders, but she has had “ the gorosei are the top priority “ drilled into her mind since she was young. She isn't THAT mean, she's nice if you simply give her time, but at the end of the day you never know when she's going to lash out or even kill you. Most keep their distance, and it just worsens her. To her, it feels as though she's alone and trapped, that the Gorosei are her “saviors” because they took her in. She doesn't have a frame of reference for normal, healthy relationships with parental figures, so she thinks everything is okay, also considering she's been locked in Pangea Castle most of her life. This made her build up a slight hatred for the outside world, given the only times she's really let out are either boring [in her opinion] or she's being forced to fight. She's paranoid, she's bipolar, she's hurt. It isn't really her fault but as she is now she has no qualms against killing and devouring people [she had to repress empathy at least SOMEWHAT to survive], her body and mind are constantly in overdrive, suspecting something, anything that could go wrong will- and she can't turn it off. With time away from everything, with people who care about her, she WILL get better, but as of now she doesn't even have a chance.

None of this is supposed to be sexual in any way. The gorosei actively think of her as a childish “insect” lower than them like they do most people, and nothing like that will ever happen to her in any story I ever do with her because ts is NASTY!!!
Saturn's fuckinf DEAD
I wonder what the other gorosei think of the whole situation.. did they hear Saturn's screams and pleas? What do they think of Garling? Do they not care about Saturn's death? Were they unsettled, even worried or scared for him? Do they resent garling now that he's replaced someone who they've probably known for ages? Has this happened before? How many of them are replacements? Did they all start off as commoners, or is the 20 kings theory right? Did imu force the yokai forms upon them? Did they start as yokai? So many questions...
now that I think abt it. why did oda kill off Saturn so suddenly??? he was barely shown without the other gorosei for thousands of episodes and chapters, he got one singular solo fight and then once all of them pull up he barely does anything?? he was overshadowed 90% of the time he was shown aside from when he was the only one there, he barely did anything really like?? it feels weird that oda killed him off just to replace him with garling who was shown even less, I mean maybe he just didn't like him and wanted to kill him off so he could focus on the garling family but that just?? doesn't seem like something he'd do?? either he has a plan for Saturn [also remember the Catarina Devon theory that she got sucked into Mary geoise while disguised as Saturn? what if she got imploded [I'm tweaking]] or I'm delusional but his death feels very sudden idk. glad he's gone though

headcanon: the gorosei see York as a daughter.....sort of? they just think she's goofy and find her funny sometimes [when not in high stress situations]
what if the gorosei get to talk to someone before they die and are like " yeah I had a family and I loved them very much. I don't want to remember their faces because I only remember them twisted in pain " I want the old bastards to be very sad all the time pretty please with a cherry on top oda
