I'm so so sad, why did the monster killed Clerval aaaaand Elizabeth, like they were such good and caring people, while Victor is soooo stupid. And now Victor just fucking followed the creature for months from Geneva to north russia by feet?!??! And the creature is like "I want you dead, but first you gotta suffer a lot by following me into this crazy spots" and im just so pissed with both of them. They just became so horrible, i get they got their reasons but c'mon, stop wasting your lifes and fight once and for all

So last week I went to my district high school to see my neighbor in the Frankenstein play there. It was 100 minutes long with no intermission and I felt bad for the kids but it was great. Anyways, the Creation was moodily yelling for 90% of his stage time and I have been unable to forget one of his lines. "God cannot damn me because God did not create me". I have no clue why that stuck with me but it did.

I read Frankenstein years ago and I haven't been the same ever since.

This post got me curious and I googled how people thought reproduction worked in the 18th century. They didn't know exactlywhere babies came from so Mary Shelly wouldn't have either. Like of course they knew it is a result of sex but they didn't know that women had ovaries.

Alright, so here's a thing about Frankenstein that I do not understand.

At one point the monster asks Victor to make him a wife, and he refuses, fearing that they two might reproduce.

Dude... just don't give her ovaries and that's it. You're supposed to know anatomy, Victor!

It's even weirder when you realize that his fear implies the fact that his monster can get an erection. Did he really spent his time giving him a working penis when he could've make him sexless/give him no reproductive system, and by extension avoid this whole problem from the beginning?

certain men on the internet who are misogynistic towards classic female authors and refuse to acknowledge their works as proper works of classic fiction in comparison to works by male authors are understandably miserable. Like I'd be pathetic and lonely and hopeless to if I never read Frakenstein.

Reasons

Victor Frankenstein/ he’s the og “Mr Modern Prometheus” and only non-comedic one, so gag free recovery. He made a man from dead body parts, so you have the ethical conundrum of what will happen with your body parts after.

Dr Frederick FrankenSTEIN/ he’s the closest to a modern doctor as he’s not a college dropout or alien, however he might intentionally mess your surgery up do to mispronunciation of his name.

Frank-N-Furter/ he made rocky from god knows what and half a brain so his talent is impressive to say the least. The level of dramatic chaos presented however will be daunting.

Reads Frankenstein again, *this time with one very important and definitely scholarly question in mind*- Which of these characters, if any, are genuinely f*ckable or marriable (is that a word?)?
