Maddie Ziegler x older! sister! Y/n
Once upon a time, Maddie Ziegler was feeling nervous about an upcoming dance competition. She had been practicing for weeks, but she still wasn't sure if she was ready to perform her routine in front of a live audience.
As she was fretting about her performance, her older sister, Y/n, walked into the studio. Yolianna could see that Maddie was feeling anxious, so she decided to cheer her up with a surprise.
Y/n pulled out a box from behind her back and handed it to Maddie. "Open it," she said with a smile.
Maddie eagerly tore open the box and found a pair of sparkling new dance shoes inside. They were the perfect shade of pink and adorned with glittering crystals.
Maddie's face lit up with delight as she slipped the shoes on her feet. They fit like a glove, and she knew that they would give her the confidence she needed to perform her best at the competition.
Y/n watched as her sister twirled around the studio in her new shoes, her worries melting away with each step. She knew that Maddie had a natural talent for dance, but sometimes even the most talented dancers needed a little boost of confidence.
With her new shoes on her feet, Maddie felt like she could conquer the world. She practiced her routine with renewed vigor, and when the day of the competition arrived, she was ready to shine.
As she took the stage, Maddie felt a surge of energy coursing through her body. She performed her routine flawlessly, her feet flying across the stage in perfect time with the music.
When the crowd erupted into applause at the end of her performance, Maddie knew that she had given it her all. She looked over at Y/n, who was beaming with pride.
"Thank you for these amazing shoes," Maddie said, giving Y/n a hug. "They gave me the confidence I needed to perform my best."
Y/n smiled back at her. "You didn't need the shoes, Maddie. You have all the talent and confidence you need inside of you. But it never hurts to have a little extra sparkle."

just to be clear, the fact that music was nominated for a golden globe is absolutely disgusting. every single (adult) involved in that gross, ableist movie should be sickened by themselves.
for those of you who don't know, music (2021) is a movie being directed by sia about a nonverable autistic girl. not only does it not include any actually autistic people in the movie itself but it also only took advice from autism speaks which is looked at as a hate group by the majority of the autistic community. leaked scenes have also shown the movie glorifying prone restraints which are incredibly dangerous and have resulted in major injuries and even death to disabled people as recently as last year.
autistic people just like me have been incredibly outspoken about how harmful this movie is but the allistic have been mostly silent. we are already seeing reviews calling this movie 'inspiring' and important' and it's absolutely horrific! we need your help calling this out. please stand with us and call out this disgusting display of disrespect to autistic folks.
