Spoilers ahead for Moriarty the Patriot

One relation in Moriarty The Patriot I have always loved is the bond between William and Louis. From the start, it’s already a strong and precious bond due to them being brothers by blood. It’s a relation that is quite essential to the plot and motivation of a few characters in Moriarty The Patriot.

All of his life, Louis was alright with their plan ending in death to atone for their sins, as they’d at least both be dying, with neither of them leaving each other behind in a way. They would both be shouldering the burden of their many crimes. Yet of course, in the end, William declares to them all that, he alone, will be the one to shoulder the blame - to be the one to face the hatred, fear and ultimately, his own death. And unlike the original plan, it would only be his death, nobody else.

Louis obviously, and rightfully so, is upset over this. Upset that his brother feels the need to be the burden-carrier, a sentiment the whole group shares. He even goes as far as reaching out to Sherlock, a man he didn’t really get along with, for his help in an attempt to prevent William’s self-inflicted fate - against William’s will, the decision that he forced onto the others.

Of course, in the end, Sherlock ends up going down with William. Yet despite this, Louis carries on. He carries on for his brother.

Louis continues to help build up a better world, one that his brother laid out the blueprints for.

Quite often, they are a motivation for eachother. They both make sure that the other is alright. They both look out for one another.

In conclusion, I love doomed (partially in this case due to what actually happens) brothers. Also, I think that ‘Turtles all the way down’ by Sammy Copley is a song that reflects their bond/story in a good way; which could be its own ramble post on its own. (It’s also just a good song so I’d recommend you check it out lol)

OG WILLIAM RANT: HE WAS JUST A CHILD

Ok so I just started watching Moriarty the Patriot anime and rewarding the manga. I’m on to the ep 3 and the ending was……..HOLY SHI-

🚨 Rant starts now🚨

Also spoilers ahead of you haven’t watched or read Moriarty the Patriot.

Ok excuse me but did they just stab the original William ,A CHILD, and left him to die .

Ok so let’s be clear, og william is a brute and pretty much a little b*astard in the making but really,HES A KID, that kinda behavior he shows was LEARNED from his parents, mostly from his Mom and was probably expected from society at the time l, so he most likely just the adapted that behavior overtime as being expected. Doesn’t excuse his behavior but gosh darn he was just following the rules of a corrupt system.

Another thing, his death was BRUTAL

Like the Mother was quickly strangled and probably had her neck snapped and/or passed out from asphyxiation, while the Father was probably killed in his sleep and/or from the fire, so at least they didn’t feel much pain.

BUT OG WILLIAM OH NO HE WAS STABBED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WAS LEFT DYING IN THE FLAMING HOUSE.

LIKE IMAGINE, YOU ARE A KID THAT SAW YOUR OWN MOTHER GET STRANGLED BY YOU BLOOD BROTHER AND THEN GETS STABBED MUTIPLE TIMES BY YOUR “ADOPTIVE BROTHER” AFTERWARDS BEGGING YOUR OLDER BROTHER FOR TOUR LIFE ONLY TO GET BRUTALLY CALLED A FILTHY CREATURE AND LEAVING YOU FOR DEAD WITH THE OTHER BROTHERS WHILE YOU ARE THERE LYING IN YOUR OWN BLOOD ALIVE IN A BLAZING INFERNO NOT KNOWING IF YOUR’E GOING TO DIE FROM THE STAB WOUND, INHALING SMOKE, AND/OR BURNED DOWN ALIVE.

LIKE THAT IS PURE PAIN.

Also, the servants in the house were burned alive too, I just-

Sorry I don’t if it’s my soft heart but I just feel really bad for og William like he’s a little Jack*** but he’s a child, like pretty much like all kids he’s didn’t have a filter , he was just saying and doing things that he learns and observes form others and didn’t really think that his behavior was bad because it was excused and encouraged to be pushed as a norm in society at the time, it would’ve been really hard but he could’ve changed, and now he never could..

The servants too, they suffered so much abuse from the Moriarty family( Og William, Mother,Father) and they were burnt a grave there.

(But the Mom and Dad , um sorry but they kinda dug their own graves from their behaviour alone but yeah pretty brutal what happens to theme)

But I mean yeah I get Albert, Liam and Louis did it , it was needed for their plan and a bit of revenge for what they’ve been through, but yeah Sometime It’s like that.

This is William James Moriarty's hand in the ending song of the anime where he's a child

Now if you look closer, you will be able to observe that only he is the one who's painting with his left hand and Louis and Albert are painting with their right.

Yes, yes, how did you never notice it before? Well...

These are screenshots from the ending song where they are depicted as children and if you look at William and Louis's clothes, they are wearing the rag clothes they wore as orphans or before they went murder-arson-happy on Albert's family. That also tells us that this is before William took upon the identity of Albert's real brother William.

But in the anime grown up William, or adult William, uses his right hand instead of left even though he obviously used to be left-handed as we discussed before.

And this is a screenshot from the opening song cuz I was too lazy to actually find a better scene but moving on...

Now my theory is that the real William™ was right-handed so when our William™ did some first-class-eighteenth-century-identity-theft, he had to learn to be right-handed in order to fit in.

In the end, I would like to conclude this by saying that WILLIAM USED TO BE LEFT-HANDED BUT BECAME RIGHT-HANDED BECAUSE HE STOLE THE-REAL-WILLIAM™ 'S IDENTITY HE HAD TO BECOME RIGHT-HANDED AND THAT HE'S PROBABLY F***ING AMBIDEXTROUS Y'ALL

William decided that he and his brothers to take a break after long days of work. They all were free to do on whatever they felt like doing.

Louis, however, just didn't know what to do. He wasn't that used to breaks. So he just spends his time cooking or running around doing errands.

"you really should take a break, Louis." Albert, his older brother suggested. "Yes you should Louis. It wouldn't hurt to rest even for a short period of time.” Said William.

“No, i’m quite fine. Its alright, you two dont really have to worry about me. I just feel the need to help around.”

The two did not respond but just gave each other looks before turning to their youngest brother, who opened the door which led to outside.

“I’ll just go and buy groceries.” Louis bid both of them farewell before exiting their home.

Louis did see a new bakery around the corner, so why not take a quick visit?

the sound of the bell that was just right above the entrance of the door chimed, signaling his arrival. The place was filled with the aroma of different types of sweets and pastries.

“Goodmorning good sir, how may i be of help today?” A beautiful lady, probably in her early or mid-twenties greeted him with glee. Oh and, Louis could not most certainly lie, the gorgeous woman before him was really enchanting to the eyes.

“O—oh, well um.. I was just merely walking around and couldn’t help but notice this new establishment.” He quickly answered, not wanting to make a fool out of himself.

“Oh, I see. Why dont you take a look at these pastries, maybe you’ll find one you’ll like?” She offered with a smile. “Oh, sure.”

Well, who could’ve had thought that ‘taking a quick visit to the bakery’ would’ve ended up taking longer than usual all because Louis had taken a fancy to one of the bakers?

Louis mouth curved a bit upwards when he heard [F/N] chuckle. “Do you mind if we meet up again? Well, if you’re not busy that is.” “I wouldnt mind. However, i’ll just check if i have the time too.”

[F/N] eyed the clock at the corner of the room. “Oh right.. i still have work to do. You should get going now, your brothers may be waiting for you?” She grinned.

“ah, right.” He said, snapping out of it. She giggled. “Zoning out again?” She sighed. “It was fun talking to you, Mr. Moriarty.”

“No need for last name basis, Ms. [L/N].”, said Louis. “Please just call me Louis.”

“alright, if that is how it’s gonna be, then just call me [F/N].” She smiled probably for the 100th time that day. He was certainly an interesting customer to say the most.

Louis left the bakery and returned to his home, with of course, few things he’s bought in order nit to draw suspicion from his older brothers.

His chest still beating.

..beating? Was beating that fast that whole time? Oh well, it doesnt matter now that Louis made a new acquaintance.

“Had fun at the bakery, Louis?” Albert playfully teased his brother. “B-brother?” Louis widened his eyes a bit, slightly confused and suprised, yet he knew this was coming.

“I see you had fun at the bakery, Louis. I dont entirely blame you though, she is quite a lovely lady.” Said William. “Just so you know, you both have my consent to your marriage.” Albert chuckled.
