Inktober - Day 17
Further ill-advised adventures in ink wash. Originally I was going to cross-hatch it, but then I realised it was already past 10pm and thought better of it.
Lottie's reflection isn't always pleasant, but she likes the window seat anyway.

Inktober - Day 21
This one isn't as finished as it could have been, because I foolishly only started at 10pm (for reference, that's when I usually go to bed). It came out okay though.
Lottie often sees the Crow Boy in dark places.
In other news, don't forget to come see Sammy and me at London MCM Expo this weekend! We'll have the Goth Anthology and Mrs Woolf and a Halloween music zine and all sorts!

Sketchavember - Day 29
Sammy lent me some Bat For Lashed CDs and I found them very inspiring. Also I drew this in London because I've been visiting my sister for the last couple of days.
Lottie is playing 'funeral'.

Inktober day 14 - brush pen I decided to try inking with my pentel brush pen, which I usually use to fill in black areas. It turned into a game of 'how much black can I put on this before it becomes an unreadable mess? ' Stay tuned to find out if I ever learn to draw a background that isn't a window.

Inktober day 20 - ink and water I have a lot of prep to do for London MCM, so it'll probably be portraits for the next few days.

Inktober 2015 - Day 21 : mapping pen and grey pen Lottie isn’t sure how to feel about all these new friends. My hand is still slightly crippled, so nothing complicated yet. Although having said that, my goodness those crows were a pig to fill in, even with a brush.

Inktober 2016 - Day 10 : mapping pen Lottie lives in a very cold place where Summer is short and Autumn is freezing, but her adoptive parents buy her plenty of fashionable fur-trimmed coats.

Inktober 2016 - Day 22 : g-pen and grey pen My G-pen seemed to be misbehaving so I drew something nice and simple to test it, luckily it turns out the problem was that I was tired rather than the pen being damaged.

Inktober 2017 : Day 17 - fineliners and grey pen Lottie’s ‘friends’ snuck up on her while she was reading.

Inktober 2017 : Day 25 - cartridge pen
Lottie is fairly sure she shouldn’t be talking to the Crow Boy, but she doesn’t really want him to leave either.

I’ve been getting a little bored of the stamps I use when I package Etsy orders, so I’ve made myself some address labels! The larger ones are for the customer’s address and the little ones are for the return address. (I did have to edit the top one slightly from how it appears here to give myself more space though.) I was tempted to make more, but I’ll stick with these two for the time being. I have a bad habit of being over-enthusiastic when I make things and ending up with too many to use! Inktober 2018 : Day 18 - grey and black fude pen I’m really pleased with this one, but I might re-draw it later. I made a couple of small mistakes that are bothering me more than usual because I’m so proud of the concept. It’s partly because I used my fude pen when I shouldn’t have, but I realised I could do the whole thing with just that one pen so I wanted to try it! Ah well, I can do another pass some other time.

Inktober 2019 : day 4 - pentel pocket brush and ink wash
Lottie wears her hair over that eye for a reason.
This one also snuck past my 90-minute time limit, I think it took just under 2 hours. I’m not as quick with the brush pen as I thought!

Here I am, frantically posting the rest of Inktober 2020 before Inktober 2021 starts!
I’ve done Inktober every year since 2013, so I was quite upset that I couldn’t finish it in 2020. I kept trying for the whole month, but I only managed a few sketches. If you squint you can see there are two dates on some of these - those are the ones that were at least sketched on the right day, the others were backfilled months later.
I’m going to try again this year, so hold your thumbs for me!

Inktober 2021, day 8 - technical pens and grey pen
Her friends can be a bit rowdy, but they mean well.

Inktober 2021, day 18 - ink and water
Somehow she sleeps better outside, no matter how cold it gets.

Inktober 2021, day 20 - pentel pocket brush and ink wash
She starts to look different in the dark.

A picnic with friends.

Inktober 2022 Day 7: Fineliners and grey pens
I goofed this one a bit too because my midtone grey was darker than I thought, but I found that out by starting the shading so I just had to go with it. Hey ho, this is how we learn.
