Feel free to use the star layer in your art it took me a second to turn a low resolution selling image to this so it’s usable in art for effects and backgrounds at least.

Minus The Batman, Lightyear is unironically my most anticipated film of 2022.

Like, I'm a Buzz Lightyear whore, so of course I'm down with this. But I also like the idea of Pixar doing more of a sci-fi action movie, rather then their usual affair. I think it could be really cool.

And I'm glad their doing this instead of just yet another Toy Story movie (even though I'm sure that's gonna happen at some point) but Lightyear, just... yes, all of it, in my face, now.

Most anticipated movies of 2022

What it says on the tin, these are the movies I'm most looking forward to this year.

1. The Batman

Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022

Everyone's already said it, but I'll add on: This movie looks like a Masterpiece. I love the tone and style (even if I am getting a BIT tired of constant gritty/grim Batman) the cinematography looks next level, and it just looks like a kick-ass movie. I'm looking forward to it.

2. Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022

I'm a massive Sonic fan so of course I'm looking forward to Sonic 2. It dosen't help that Knuckles is my favorite Sonic character, so Idris Elba playing him is something I'm extremely excited for. Plus, I like that the trailer was less "kid's movie" and more like the trailer you'd see for a legit action movie. Got me pretty excited.

3. The Bad Guys

Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022

Coming out the same day as Sonic, I believe, this was a surprise. I really like the art style and the animation (very Spiderverse esque), and the story looks pretty fun. A bunch of normally villainized animals on the path to become good guys despite a lot of people, even themselves, saying "the hell?" It looks pretty cute and fun.

I'm not looking forward to horny fanart, but that's already happened I think.

4. Across the Spiderverse: Part One

Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022

Speaking of Spiderverse, what else do I need to say? The first Spiderverse is a Masterpiece. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. So of course I'm looking forward to Across the Spiderverse: Part One. It dosen't help the Spider-Man 2099 is coming, and I LOVE Spider-Man 2099. So again, very excited.

5. Lightyear

Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022

I made a small post about this earlier this year, but I'm just gonna reiterate. I REALLY like Buzz Lightyear, as well as just the Toy Story franchise in general, but Buzz has always been my favorite character. So to have this cool sci-fi action movie MADE by Pixar be about Buzz, and sort of the "true story" behind his toy, is just super fascinating to me.

6. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022

Bit of a recurring theme for this list, but I fucking LOVE Nicholas Cage. He's that actor that always gives 110%, even when the movie is kinda trash. And this just sounds like a super fascinating concept. Nicholas Cage playing HIMSELF, and helping Pedro Pascal, his biggest fan, with a big problem? It looks really good and entertaining, really excited for it.

And that's my list. Some honorable mentions are Morbius (honestly the trailer looks good to me, but the stupid amount of delays makes me roll my eyes) Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Sam Rami directing a superhero movie again is fantastic, and the trailer looks great, there movies just beat it out by a touch) and Mission Impossible 7 (I love the Mission Impossible franchise, and honestly it would be on this list if we had a trailer. But we don't, and I honestly have no idea how they're going to top MI: Fallout.)

Anyway, that's that. See you guys later.

After The Lightyear Trailer I Had To Make This Illustration.

After the Lightyear trailer I had to make this illustration.

I created a possible poster of the series, inspired by the posters of western films, as if the Show Woody's Roundup were really a television series

i went to go see lightyear (i thought it was good) with my parents and during the movie about 3 times the screen turned off but the audio kept playing, so during those times we kinda played on our phones and talked to each other.

anyway at the end while the credits were rolling the mom of the family a few seats down came over and said in this kind of nice-sounding tone, "you guys were really loud. i couldn't hear the movie because you were talking. kind of a nightmare, really." and then just turned around and left.

my mom and i both looked at each other like "tf was that" and then we made passive aggressive comments about her as we left.

idk what to take from this but rude lady, you missed both after-credit scenes, so who's the nightmare now?

(also her two kids were way louder than us. i'm not petty.)

Can someone explain to me how Pixar seriously thought they could remake Captain Marvel for the Lightyear movie and we wouldn’t notice???

My Drawing Of Lightyear For Those Who Created This Great Movie. I Don't Care If They Say It Was The Worst

My drawing of Lightyear for those who created this great movie. I don't care if they say it was the worst movie, for many it was one of the best movies because it was based on one of the most beloved characters and toys from Toy Story

After A Very Looong Pause, Here I Am With A New Review.

After a very looong pause, here I am with a new review.

Yesterday I finally was able to see Lightyear.

First of all, when I started watching it, I thought it was going to be such a waste of time. Basic space adventure with monsters or bad guys and a really predictable storyline. It ended surprising me for the good though. I even would rate it as one of the best animated films I've seen so far.

The music was okay and special effects were average for an animated movie in 2022. What really caught my attention were the memorable and yet relatable characters who starred the movie.

*The kiss scene was adorable. Fuck off homophobes 💖. *

ALERT SPOILERS AHEAD.

The thing that this movie wants to encourage us to do is, to accept the way things turned out and the way things are, instead of longing or yearning for "what could have been". Learning that sometimes not having things going your way is a blessing in disguise, which is a really valuable lesson for both children and adults. I really appreciate the complexity of the plots with which animated movies are made nowadays. Sometimes our enemies are not out there, but within us.

The characters (lesbian interracial couple, their child and their grandaughter, and two clumsy, inexperienced and average middle aged man and old woman plague the film with their puns, making it more entertaining, and their role in the film is to deconstruct the idea of allmighty powerful hero, showing us that together, we are stronger. All of them are really representantive of our society.

The reference to God's creation by Michelangelo is also a remarkable detail throughout the movie, representing the new paradigm of society.

Finally, Buzz choosing their average team instead of the proffessional army and being a space ranger was a little bit cheesy in my opinion, but it's acceptable.

The storyline is amazing and it's full of action and relentless dynamism, making it incredible attention-grabbing.

DEFINITELY WORTH-WATCHING.

8'5/10
