just went to the library today got some books, and I found a series that *feels* whumpy, there's a lot of manipulation and conditioning involved, and also literal captivity in book two. my local library doesn't have the other books, but I already read book one about two years ago so I'm fine
book series is Delirium by Lauren Oliver just a heads up, there's some homophobia in book one, but in book two the main character meets a happy gay couple and realizes that homophobia is wrong.
