The Son of the Medali Gym Leader
Krash looked around the new town he was in, he never realized till now that he’d finally see his dad after the divorce. Krash looked down at the ground, this alerted his Skeledirge as he nudged his trainers cheek in worry. Giving a soft growl of concern. Krash shook his head and gave a reassuring pet to his Skeledirge’s snout, ”it’s ok bud, let’s just fight his gym and get some food after” Krash said, his voice raspy from the strain; his voice has always been like this, it was mostly due to how he was born with a nerve problem causing hoarseness in his voice. So mostly he tries not to talk much but speaks in sign.
The more often he practiced, the less affected his vocal cords become. His Skeledirge seemed to accept the answer but still worriedly nuzzled him before letting out a low growl. “It’ll be alright bud, I’ve got my best friend to look after me” Krash reassured his Skeledirge as they started making their way over to the gym that he was supposed to battle. Krash’s father is the Medali gym leader, he hasn’t seen his father since he was four and knowing that he’s going to fight his dad sent a little worry in his heart. Krash stopped dead in his tracks, his Skeledirge bumped into him lightly, he was frozen. Skeledirge growled in confusion as he looked at his trainer, Krash saw his dad. The Medali gym leader. Larry.

Yk I initially didn't get the Larry from Pokemon hype but after actually seeing him in-game I have made the conscious decision to fall in platonic love with him. He is the man to ever exist, the golden standard, nobody could even compare to him.

honestly though larry is so cool in terms of the more foreshadowing side of him
like at first he comes off like just the normal gym leader, whatever. you dont think too much about anything hes up to. then you get to the elite 4 reveal and suddenly… things make sense
he gives you the tm for facade. hes trying so hard to act like just some every day guy and not an elite 4 member by not loudly broadcasting it to the world.
he terastallizes his staraptor into the normal type, despite it already being normal in its normal/flying type. this is obviously to make it a pure normal type, a literal manifestation of his attempt at trying to be discreet about his elite 4 position as the flying type handler.
not only that, but his design reflects this as well with his tie. its harder to see in game, but in the key art its clearly sky blue with a little cloud pattern. the sky is usually associated with flying types, but because its a tie its super subtle and out of the way as a distinguisher. i suppose the button pattern on his suit sleeves could resemble feathers, and the black triangles on the lapels make the bottom pair seem like wings, but these are more loose conclusions for subtle details
like this shit is actually so good because you never think twice about these sorts of things until later in the game.. which is what good foreshadowing is all about. i appreciate this aspect of his character immensely

Hiii. Breaking up my reblogs with a slightly older piece that will probably get very few likes because this pairing is rare. Rather than diamonds, probably. But yes I am a Hassel x Larry TRUTHER (obviously no hate towards other pairings, I for one am also a huge fan of @/OkeanosGraphics on Twitter's selfship and generally vibe with Hassel x Brassius) so I need to spread the good word. Even if this piece isn't obviously ship or anything. It's ship TO ME.
Anyways. This is just inkwork with the sketch layer not erased, I have no plans to finish this and fully render it. It's also a bit on the older side but who gaf. Peace and love on planet earth. I also debated putting this on my sideblog, @tommy-bside , but I'm keeping that blog purely as OC/AU/Fanon content. Just some things Ive done over the past weekend and piling it all into one post because I do not feel like making so many seperate ones.
I have alot of pokemon Ocs I want to post, so now im going to get started on that. (This Oc is from a huge pokemon Au that me and @rattydude created)
This oc is Veneris, shes based off of Wednesday Addams. Her name means Friday in Latin.
She's Larry's adopted daughter, as while she goes to the academy, she also works with Larry at his normal office job. Following the Grimsley and Larry hc of them being related (in this case, they're half brothers) Grimsley is her bio father, but she doesnt know that.
Her mom and her moved to Paldea when they were financially able, and her mom also works in the same office building as she and larry do. (Her mom ends up passing away, and that's how Larry takes her in.)
Her ace is Unfezant. She also ends up being with Nemona, as they have opposite personalities, and.. Well, opposites attract.
Being based off of Wednesday Addams (specifically Netflix Wednesday Wednesday Addams) there is a line where Morticia says that Wednesday is allergic to color, and while I dont think she meant so literally, for Veneris, I am making that literal.
She always wears back, and is always covered, long skirts, long sleeves, gloves, always. If she touches anything with color, she breaks out into hives.
