Miraculous: The True Extent of Power. - Prologue
Hey- I made a new AU :)
Let me explain the situation.
The Dupain-Chengs are making plans to go to China to visit their relatives, and Marinette can’t stay in paris even if she force asked her parents.
Because of that, she need to pass her earings to someone else until she back in Paris, which isn’t for a short time either.
She’ll be in China for 3 months, sure she gets vacation, but Paris need her!
Sure she can use the horse miraculous, but when Marinette about to think that, the other Guardians offer her to train with them to gain the true extent of her ‘Creation’ power. And they told her to not wearing her Miraculous, because the only way to get this power is to see her true self inside.
And her Miraculous is her mask, it showing the other side of her that her civilian self isn’t.
Yet, her civilian self is also a mask.
And she need to be neutral, which having a combined personality between her Superheroine self and her civilian self.
And it easier without Tikki keep encouraging her in such way that might will make another persona out of her.
So she choose Alya for this job.
And Ladybird is born.
Ladybug make an announcement about her going out of country for a while through Ladybird.
But, when she gets back, turns out that Hawkmoth is taking advantage of it and attacking both Chat Noir and Ladybird by himself.
Both heroes are falling, both are to tired to fight.
Press are everywhere.
And Marinette immediately regretting her choice.
And she will make things right.
Even if it means revealing her identity.
Y'all remember that scene in Ladybird when her mom says "of course I love you", but Ladybird's like "but do you like me?? as a person??" and her mom can't answer properly and ends up saying "i want you to be the best version of yourself"

i remember watching ladybird for the first time (i initially watched due to my obsession with saoirse ronan) and being frozen at how some scenes really hit close to home.
ladybird has a place in my heart and in my soul, and i have this tremendous want to rewatch it but i know i have to gather courage and be mentally prepared to do so (my courage and mental are still unprepared btw)
this was also the movie that introduced me to greta and made me so embarrassingly obsessed with her directing and movies as well.

One of my moots is currently watching ladybird and I'm so excited to know what she thought
If any other director did the Barbie movie, it would've been the exact film a lot of older men think it is; all pink and sparkles with no substance.
But Greta Gerwig is the absolute master at feminine coming of age films. Lady Bird, Little Women, both are amazing films with themes very similar to Barbie.
And of all of her films, Barbie's themes can apply to a lot more people. We all age, and all women age differently. Plus, Barbie is something we've all grown up with, something we all have some sort of feeling about.
No one but Greta Gerwig could show the complications of womanhood using Barbie dolls. No one else could have do it as beautifully and affectionately.
