Two photos from my first roll of film, and the last roll this camera ever took before I realised there was a short in its electrics. It ate batteries in minutes. Rare and vintage and toxic mercury batteries.

This camera was nearly twice as old as I was when I brought it. It will probably be the only machine I own now that will still be working when I reach that age.

There's something magical about the old QR trains, and I don't say that to mean that I think they're very good. They feel enchanted, and I don't intend that as a compliment either. The older trains feel the same kind of supernatural as an old library.

It's strange that "sunset colours" are usually deep reds and oranges and purples, when most of the sunsets I've seen were pale blues and silvers and golds. I think I prefer those.
