Klaus x Dave Headcanons
Just some ideas I have, some will be included in my fanfic about Umbrella Academy but for now we have these. Since Dave has been confirmed a Jew, I’m going to include some stuff about that in these, in school we have to study RE (Religious Education) and for my GCSE, Judaism is a topic. I’m not an expert so if I get something wrong please tell me. Anyway, enjoy!

Klaus and Dave become really close really quickly, and once Dave realises that he’s not trained at all he quickly decides to train him whenever he can to stop Klaus from being embarrassed or punished by the Sergant
They start with drill and marching, then to shooting and rifle deconstruction, eventually to hand-to-hand contact
You can guess how much sexual tension is in the air when they start on hand-to-hand combat
When Klaus pulls off a move that they’ve been working on for a while, Dave lifts him up and they almost kiss there and then until they notice the others surrounding them
All of this initial training happens over the first month Klaus is there
After this the infamous Disco Scene happens when they have a weekend of leave and the two stay in quiet corners stealing kisses all night long
Sometime in the next month, the pair are on watch, Klaus is having a hard time with his powers due to him having to be sober to be on watch (not sure if this accurate but hey-ho I need a reason for this headcanon)
Dave realises this and talks to Klaus, asking what’s wrong and saying that being on watch can be more scary than actual battles
Klaus ends up telling him about his family and their powers (getting a response from Dave along the lines of “Like Superman?”), starting with Luther, skipping himself and ending up by saying that Vanya’s not got powers (even though we know she has now)
They go quiet until Dave asks what Klaus’ power is, he tells him with tears down his face until Dave simply replies, “Here must be hell for you then,” and listens to Klaus explain that a vietnamese soldier whose arm has been blown off is screaming angrily at him
Dave comforts him and makes him laugh as they sit in muddy trench and cautiously listen to the sounds of shooting in the distance
After 2 months of being in Vietnam, Klaus and Dave spend three days of their week leave in a cheap hotel room spending time together and having sex for the first time
They watch game shows and soap operas in the day and eat food, talk about their lives and have sex at night
On various occasions, Dave begins to teach Klaus about Judaism due to him wanting to know something that’s such a big part of his life, he teaches him about Kosher food, the Sabbath, Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Passover, Worship and all other things about Judaism
Dave gets a wonderful look on his face when he’s explaining all of this which Klaus loves because he gets this look in his eyes that make it impossible to look away or not pay attention
A few months later, they have a few days leave again, Klaus decides to surprise Dave by preparing everything needed (or good enough substitutes) to celebrate the Sabbath
Dave is obviously so amazed and appreciative of this and almost cries because he hasn’t been able to celebrate the Sabbath properly in months
They play board games they bought in second-hand shops and read in between talking about their plans for the future and more about Judaism
My final headcanon is set maybe after Klaus has been in Vietnam for 9 months and decides that his relationship with Dave is strong enough to tell him about the whole time-travel business- cause you encounter some weird things when you’re in a war
Obviously it takes a while of explanation and time to sink in but the questions come along the lines of “Why did you stay?” And “When are you from?” All of which Klaus explains
This all takes place in the back of a bus where they’re some of the only ones who are left awake in the middle of the night
Also, over the 10 months, the couple get their tattoos that have been confirmed, they get some while high or drunk but they all have sentiment behind them
Finally, nicknames! I like to think that they call each other by bird names so Klaus calls Dave Starling and Dave calls Klaus Kookaburra, maybe Dave calls him a few nicknames in Hebrew that he’s learnt or that he remembers his parents calling each other like Matok, Hamud or Yakiri and Klaus may call Dave things in German or Spanish like Cariño, Dulzura or Liebling

Guess who shed actual tears while making Klaus and Dave get married on The Sims?
So i was trying to fall asleep when Love Of My Life by Queen started playing and I just had the saddest idea so now you're all ought to hear it.
Imagine a scene in S3 where klaus discovers that he failed again. Dave still died, just not on the A -Shau Valley , and this time they never even met. So Klaus goes to the graveyard where Dave lies, trying so hard to ignore all the ghosts calling for his name. Once he gets to the headstone, he sinks down to his knees and reaches with one hand the cold stone where his lovers name is engraved, while the other goes to wrap around the metal of said lovers dog tags. [All while a slow piano ballad is playing in the background] Klaus then touches his forehead to the stone tablet and just fucking breaks down. We have him profusely apologizing and calling out Dave's name. Here love of my life starts playing . The camera slowly pans out and we cut to Flashbacks of their in Vietnam. Maybe the first I love yous or something like that. Happy moments where we get to see both of them being in love, where we get more of Dave's character and what he is actually like .
if Dave has had his birthday at Vietnam with Klaus
I don't know why this idea came into my head but I imagine so much that Klaus came back in 2019 to take a sci-fi book written in 2000 for example "The Martian" and then came back to 1968 for offered as a birthday present for Dave and Dave does not understand how Klaus the them in this war zone but he is happy with the gifts even if by reading the book Dave sometimes does not understand what the book quotes
I have zero knowledge on how American military people lived in Vietnam, but I want to know why none of them questioned Klaus appearing out of nowhere. I mean, nobody really saw him and bombs (?) were exploding in the background, but they still gave him a pair of pants and a helmet (not to mention they gave him pats when they did) with absolutely no questions at all
